Kate was in a much better mood than she had been with the recent mess about not!Iron Lad, and wondering how Cassie was dealing. She was currently in the Media library, humming along to some music cheerfully. She wondered how it would sound like on a cello, how to adapt these particular chords to the strings.

She was also smiling contently, casually thinking of a certain recent event with a certain someone. Maybe she'll go play something in the Sensoriums a little later.

"Yeah. I've never played an instrument but I can imagine. It'd be nice to be able to cook with actual food. Not that I've tried it." She added quickly. "I've been avoiding the Sensorium." See? She's been a good girl.

"Oh you have? Good."

Kate then wondered, "How you been? With the whole so not Iron Lad jerk thing?"

She'd been expecting that one. "Not so great but I'll live."

Kate nodded, "He's not worth it. Obvious he's not our friend." Part of her got a fun visual of 'Nathaniel' vs a wolf like Plays... and getting his ass truly kicked. Just ignore the brief blushing when she thought of Plays or Tony.

"I told him I'd make him remember." Cassie said quietly.

Kate frowned at that, "Cassie, no. It's not him."

"How do you know? It might be him. And even if he's not," Cassie stopped to think. "But if he's not then why can't he become evil instead of Iron Lad? Why-" This didn't make any sense. "That doesn't matter. It He's a Iron Lad, even if he might not be our Iron Lad. He doesn't have to go through all that. Maybe, if he doesn't have to become Kang, then maybe in a way we can save our Iron Lad by saving him."

Kate thought about it. Letting her memory bring up the conversation. He was definitely uncaring and an asshole really. But... sometimes. There might have been something once.

"He really sounded more like baby Kang than Iron Lad though. I don't know."

Cassie rubbed her arm and looked away for a moment. "I never said it'd be easy I just... We need to at least try. He deserves that much."

Take the shot, Kate.

Kate considered it, and then agreed, "All right. We'll give it a shot. Text him or something. See if anything's there."

"Uh, all right." Cassie didn't move. "Now?"

"Not now. When you're ready."

Kate stretched, and damn, corners of her mouth keep threatening to turn upward. Been happening ever since the other day in the Sensoriums.

Cassie let out the breath she'd been holding in. "Good cause I'm not." She tilted her head and studied Kate. "So are you going to spill?"

Kate was trying to keep her expression very neutral.

"Spill about what? It's been good."

Mysterious Kate is mysterious.

Cassie grinned. "Come on, you're beaming. What happened?"

"I'm not that much. It's no big," Kate tried to pass it off, even if her cheeks were blushing.

"Had a good talk with a friend the other day. One of the crew, that's all."

Well there was talking, so she was honest there at least.

"Talk? Yeah, right. I bet that's not all you did. You're blushing." Cassie was enjoying this.

"Not really..."

Kate then facepalmed, "Ok, we kissed. A little."

Somewhere it sucked to be Eli.

"A little? Who is it?"

It's been sucking somewhere for Eli, and it's gonna keep sucking really.

"Somebody I know. We've spoken a few times now."

"Well yeah, I'd hope you'd know him before you started making out. Who?"

Kate dropped her jaw, "We weren't... Much. Um, his name's Tony. One of his names anyway. He's with the wolves."

Cassie's got a thing for robots, apparently Kate's got something for wolves. Or at least one of them.

Cassie blinked. "Uh just to clarify, and please don't hit me but, he has a human form, right?"

Kate rolled her eyes, "Yes he does, and mainly is. I didn't even find out about the wolf part till he mentioned it at one of the meetings. He only hulks out or wolfs out really sometimes for fights."

"O.K., good." She felt really stupid for asking that. "That's great. I'm happy for you."

Cause, really, this was the girl who had a thing for robots and metal. Kate dating a werewolf? Hardly eyebrow raising at all.
