Sobek the Immortal: Bringing a God to His Knees [Closed]
Who: Daniel Jackson, Vala Mal Doran, Eva, The Master, Eleventh Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon
Where: Kalimba (planet side)
Summary: A small crew goes on an archaeological expedition to a jungle planet, where System Lord was imprisoned. Taking Daniel as his host, he captures the crew and tortures them, while rebuilding his fleet.
Warnings: Violence, torture, gore
((Part One and Part Two here))
As time drew on, there was no sign of Stacy, rescue parties or of a single landing pods. The typhoon season approached closer with each day, rain and wind spattering the leaves on some days, varying between intense heat and humidity on other days. The megafauna in the jungles had grown more active too. The earth rumbled under their feet as they starting their migration amidst hooting calls and croaks. Throughout the varying weather, one thing remained constant. The hive of activity around the three step pyramids never ceased, slaves either taking shifts or in the most fanatical cases, working themselves near to death or to death. It was like this all across Kalimba. The call had gone out with the instructions for the slaves: work was to begin on restoring the Crocodile God's fleets underneath each step pyramid all across the planet. They were his Chosen, his Children, and he would ensure they were rewarded for their faith.
The complex swarmed with slaves and guards moving weapons and parts. Sobek and his personal guards were also in and out more often as the fleet began to take shape, often traveling to other sites to check on progress. Stones fell away from each ship as far as the eye could see. More and more of each ha'tak was revealed, while lines of human bodies went inside to work on the interiors. If the number of step pyramids that towered through the jungle were any indication, his fleet would be massive.
((same as Part 2: run your own posts with each other, more private threads with Sobek are available at the start. Part 3 does not have to immediately include end-plot stuff. If you want more CR amongst each other or your character being messed with by Sobek, please do!))

TIME SKIP - VALA

The slaves were hard at work within the bowels of the main step pyramid as the Crocodile God, his guards, and Vala swept past. One or two looked up at Vala, then quickly hid their heads. News of what happened to the blasphemers and what would happen was spreading through the slaves, and quickly.
Death gliders were, under Sobek's instructions, also undergoing restoration now, as well as the primary systems of each pyramid ship. The slaves may not know the inner workings or exactly what they're doing, they are only allowed, in their minds, to assist in their God's magic, but they follow their God's instructions to the letter. Here and there, a death glider hovers, then returns to its stand.
A sole Al'kesh came into view. It was the only one fully restored at the moment, and this they took. Sobek remained lounging on the dais the entire time while a Jaffa sat at the controls, smoothly piloting the ship over trees and more step pyramids. There were two other Jaffa in the room, along with Vala, keeping an eye on her. The ship glides low over the jungle line, a bloated metal beast that flooded the air with a low hum that seemed to vibrate bone and skin.
Hours passed. Vala was free to walk around with a guard, and for the most part, Sobek ignored her. The jungle was just beginning to peter out reluctantly into plains when the ship slowed. More pyramids dotted the landscape, constant tributes to the God across the planet. Turning in place, it began to lower. Gears shifted, the drone of machinery changed pitch. Below, slaves were coming out from the buildings to see what the noise was.
The God stepped out into a sizable settlement hugging the line between jungle line, a rolling prairie and a massive lake. Just like before, the slaves already outside, upon seeing him, fell to the ground, pressing their heads to the grass.

But she was piecing it all together, it didn't take a genius to work out that the entire slave populace was working on Sobek's fleet. It made sense that the work would be sizeable, she had know idea how long the Goa'uld had waited in stasis for a host to come along but judging from just the undergrowth and disrepair the pyramid had been in when she and the Doctor had first ventured into its depths, it wasn't just decades.
The Al'kesh they were in was like an antiquated version of the Al'Kesh Vala knew, improvements she knew she could make rattled through her mind. Not yet, she'd suggest something in good time. One step at a time, patience was the key here. Start showing interest in his ships too soon and he'd suspect an ulterior motive. She knew that by simply rearranging the sublight engine crystals she was sure she could stop that irritating vibration though. And God it had been tempting.
Dutifully she followed like a good lo'taur when they arrived, it almost felt like a betrayal of the others and of Daniel that she hadn't attemped anything. Gaining control of the ship would have been simple, the crystal panel had been easily accessible the entire time. But haste and impulse had already seen her thwarted once. Vala would have to find patience somehow, not a virtue she was blessed with - more so after months of being kept in a cell. If anything she needed her strength fully returned anyway.
If only these people knew she thought as they stepped out into the settlement, prostrated before a parasite that cared nothing for them besides their productivity.

More of his Children came trailing into the crowd that had gathered and like the others, prostrated themselves. One man came out, carrying on him the most beads and trophies around his wrist and neck that announced him the village leader, and seeing the God, pushed himself to the front line of the group, falling to his knees. Unlike in the throne room and around the main complexes, there was no droning. No singing or chanting. The muffled whispers died in the hot air. The only sound was the rustle of breeze against grass and water from the lake.
The System Lord stepped out alone. He crossed the plains unhurried, and compared to the drab colors of the settlement and its clothing, the people's bearing, looked like something out of a forgotten legend.
He finally came to a stop before the chieftain. Sobek put his hand on the man's shoulder. The man started to look up but balked, unwilling to put his eyes on something so far above him. In response, the Crocodile God cupped his chin and firmly tilted his head up. From where Vala stood, it seemed like the Goa'uld was speaking to him softly, smiling a little as if he was asking for a favor from a colleague. The man blinked, paled, but then stood and scurried off.
Minutes later, several of the villagers were selected from the crowd and brought in front of their God. Sobek glanced over at Vala and caught her eye.

Her retreat was well and truly blocked though, whether it was for shelter or escape. Even if she attempted a run into the cover of the jungle, she'd have to pass the Jaffa first.
Sobek turned to her and she could only take a deep breath to steady herself against what she feared was about to happen.
Warning; VIOLENCE/GORE (R)
|||||||||||||||||||||
Vala wasn't the only one feeling the heat. Behind her, sweat beaded down one of the Jaffa's arms and slid down a bicep. The other shifted from one foot to another after awhile. This kind of heat was different than the jungle they were used to, with the welcome shade behind them. If the Jaffa were more uncomfortable than that, they weren't going to show it.
The selected slaves all appeared related to each other, and to Vala, this couldn't be a coincidence. They were taken to the edge of the jungle, and tied down to stakes hurriedly driven into the ground by other villagers, and then shackled to each other, ensuring that there was no escape. The villagers behind them whispered amongst each other, the reason for the God's visit sliding from person to person with the speed of a spreading plague, and then one by one, turned to watch uncertainly.
Sobek strode up to the first human and bending, a hand resting between the man's shoulder blades, whispered into an ear. Their offspring had dared to attack one of his Chosen, and this punishment was on them all now. The entire family line was to be wiped from his planet before they continued their disgrace. The man looked up at him, confusion and fear draining the color from his face.
What happened next was messy and sudden. There was a crunch of bone and something splattering and tearing, blood spilling and an ear-splitting shriek of agony. Sobek walked onto the next, leaving the slave tied to the ground gasping in shock, hunched over, ribs suddenly cracked and splayed out, open to the air like gory wings.

Bile in her throat rose and whether it was the heat or the fact her stomach wasn't used to the food, or the hideous display before her, Vala felt her stomach kick. The contents of her stomach were too much to keep down and try as she did to suppress it, the third wretch saw her splatter the ground with vomit.
violence/blood
The Crocodile God moved down the line, repeating the same on each single slave, and there was no major effort on his part, the same as slicing open prey. The air soon sweetened with the heavy smell of blood, rang with the crack of bone. He was just as unhurried as he was walking out to the group, methodical and remorseless. It took over an hour to finish. Some would succumb soon to shock, but some, some would remain alive longer.
Sobek stepped away finally, splattered with blood and looking satisfied. This blasphemer and his line had paid. He had several more trips to make before he would be appeased.
The chieftain dared look up, looking sick in the face, and seeing what was in his God's eyes, nodded hastily. No words were needed. These were to remain where they were. They were beyond help and had been since their offspring transgressed, and now they and the village had been cleansed. The jungle would creep in and consume them, however long it took.
Sobek turned and strode back towards Jaffa and Vala. It was time to head for the next village...

She should have stopped it, she'd have died trying but she should have stopped it. The idea that she could save Daniel from this had made her value these people's lives above him. The tears behind her eyes that she wouldn't dare to let spill stung as much as the baking dry heat on her back.
Qetesh had been brutal, but this was just sick, his hunger for power and control was tainted with a perversion she'd rarely seen in any Goa'uld. She had to stop herself thinking about Daniel and how he was dealing with this. With any luck these memories would be buried so deep he wouldn't recall them easily. She knew there were events her own mind wouldn't allow her to remember of Qetesh.
"Was that really necessary?" Sobek was walking past her and she dared to question him, even as her own side still bled and he was decorated in the blood of innocents. "You could have just killed them."
no subject
"It was," he said simply. "This jungle desires the offering of fresh blood. I have given back to Kalimba and cleansed this taint from my land." He stepped towards the Al'Kesh, and the guards turned quickly to hem Vala in, eager to get back in the shade. The God himself barely took note of the heat, other than to bask in it. He was mid-way up the ramp when he turned back towards her.
There was a trace of good humor in the blue eyes. "After I've finished my business, you need no longer worry about your safety when away from my presence."
TIME SKIP - After a week of travelling the planet doing much the same D:
Vala had tried to distract him on one occasion, tempt him into staying on the Al'kesh and leaving his revenge behind in pursuit of other pleasures, only for him to view her advances as if he was humouring a puppy briefly before he rebuffed her completely.
She'd thought that was what he wanted her for, she couldn't think of another reason he'd want her by his side, not after he'd clearly refused her offer when they'd first arrived and then kept her locked up and near starved to death. It was the only tool she had aswell, and she wasn't averse to using it in the sudden panic of the moment when she'd realised there were yet more to be slaughtered.
Vala felt like she was achieving nothing more than getting herself fed better, and with that came its own set of guilt issues. He'd said she could have a weapon when he wasn't with her, but so far she hadn't been out of his sight.
The Al'kesh set down in the main Courtyard and she couldn't help feel relief that the ordeal was finally over. Although what was next was anybody's guess. All Vala had achieved was that she was healthier physically and had acquired a change of clothes. Her eyes shot to the tiny windows of the cells wondering if any of the others would be able to see what could only look like a betrayal.
Re: TIME SKIP - After a week of travelling the planet doing much the same D:
Her attempt to appeal to him sexually had amused him, but in the end, Sobek didn't have to think about brushing her off. The idea of a God consorting with a lowly human. She was attracted to his vessel, true, but Sobek didn't belief she offered her body out of a sudden faith. There was a devious streak to Vala he could respect. The attempt to distract him from carrying out the cleansing was obvious. It also failed.
Word spread fast of his Will, preceding the Al'kesh like the winds before the typhoons. If that wasn't enough, their God's appearance, caked in blood, was enough. Now no slave would look directly at this woman who was obviously favored highly by their Lord. Several turned their back, eyes averted, and scurried away. There would be no more attempts.
"Draw my bath," the System Lord said, then he was gone, vanishing into one of the tunnels and leaving Vala with the Jaffa and her first order.

The jewel encrusted dagger by the fruit bowl, meant for slicing the succulent flesh off in slivers presumably was slipped into her waistband before she'd even had chance to consider it. If she'd looked around to see if the Jaffa was watching it would have been too obvious. A bold move was far less suspicious than one made behind furtive glances.
no subject
She was to draw the bath only, food left for the other slaves to prepare, but Vala suddenly slipped the dagger into her waistband with a speed that surprised both guards. The Crocodile God had only said he'd consider the matter of arming her, but his Judgement on the Unclean recently would also have been enough. However, their God clearly cared about this human, and perhaps she should be armed. For once, their orders weren't clear. Or maybe it was. Unfortunately for one of the guards, it was exhaustion from trip and the previously sweltering heat that hindered their judgement. The guard, snarling, swung a staff weapon at her legs, hard enough that it would leave a mass of bruises if he hit.
no subject
Vala completely misjudged their reaction though and clearly her own talents. As casually and swiftly as she'd taken the dagger she'd started towards the sunken pool. The staff weapon that knocked her legs from under her wasn't even slightly anticipated. She was floored in one swing, the pain from the blow too agonising and sudden to stop her scream.
"What the hell was that for?" She grimaced, teeth gritted against the pain after she was over the initial shock.
no subject
[Our God has not given you permission to arm yourself, slave] he snarled. His voice was rough and metallic from under the helm, but ragged with weariness. How dare this slave show his God disrespect by assuming she was allowed this luxury, that his eyes weren't everywhere. She had waited until he was gone to help herself, but he and all others like him were always mindful, always watching.
The other guard remained standing, neither helping his companion or stopping him when his hand darted to retrieve the blade from her.
no subject
So it wasn't entirely true, but Vala couldn't remember exactly what he'd said and she was well practiced in twisting interpretations to suit her needs. Despite her own weariness and exhaustion she kicked and flailed her legs at him as he reached for the knife, aiming for his crotch. Her own free hand reached for the knife at the same time, managing to grasp the handle underneath his hand with the blade held dangerously close to her side and angled towards it. If he made a grab at it now it was likely to stab her.
violence
After the punishment for the slaves, the servant should know better.
The Jaffa only had a moment to look at the interruption and only a moment left to live. The Crocodile God lifted the hand device, fingers curling inwards, claw like and slow around the gem flaring to life in his palm. From within the helmet came a sick crunching sound. It was the sound of bone crushed in on itself, and it echoed in the chamber, with a gurgling moan that dwindled quickly. The Jaffa dropped to the ground, taking Vala down with him. Blood slowly leaked out from the cracks in the helmet.
Re: violence
There was no wretching this time though, simply a desire to distance herself as quickly as possible.
"You know a simple detention system or giving out lines might be something to consider," she said camoflaging the gravity of the situation with her usual sarcasm even as she watched the pool of blood collect underneath the Jaffa. Her mind was working overtime though, no questions asked, Sobek had reacted in an almost protective way of her.
Re: violence
"There's no room for disobedience in my eyes," Sobek said. He continued to look her over. The sudden urge to ask if she was alright bubbled up, strong, just as strong as his desire for violence, and Sobek's mouth opened to follow on the urge and ask. It had come from somewhere that he had dismissed as properly subdued and no longer of consequence, reduced to a shade next to his brilliance. Daniel. He snarled mentally, but it was too late. The moment's weakness disturbed the God, that second where he hadn't recognized it as his host and not himself as quickly as he should have.
His mouth closed, the mask of disinterest falling too late into place right after. The aloof gaze went to the back of the room. "I will have my bath now. Draw it, then undress me."
no subject
There was genuine concern in his eyes for a brief faltering moment as he hesitated on the edge of saying something. The level of his wrath that was bestowed on the Jaffa that sought to injure her, one of his most trusted Jaffa at that, could only mean one thing.
"Why are you waiting?" She simply asked, careful that her back was turned and that neither Daniel or him would see the fear in her eyes. Vala started to draw the water without turning. Any pain in her legs or the fresh scratches on her side or her bruised wrists subsided completely at the revelation. It was like she'd flicked a switch and turned off her emotions as she watched the water cascading in. She was numb, but after a few minutes she smiled resignedly, glad that Daniel would be free, dead or alive. If she did one good thing in her life that actually worked out, it would be that.
no subject
The question could be interpreted any way. Curiosity. Fear. Hope. Sobek sniffed at the air, silently, hoping to get a taste of what it was, but the recent carnage had filled the air with iron and death. No matter. He would know soon enough.
"You will ascend to divinity at the dawn of the Age of Scales," he said. The rush of hot water hitting stone and tile thundered in the room but his words snaked their way through the splatter and hiss of steam. His eyes focused on her shoulder blades, then drifted upwards. Daniel writhed in their mind as they admired the back of her neck, thinking of how it felt to go through the skin and tissue, wrap themselves around her spinal cord and become one.
The God waited with a surprising amount of patience as the water level rose. Somehow the mechanism seemed to sense the bath was nearly full, the water slowing to a trickle and then nothing. He waited for her to come and undress him.
no subject
Vala watched the last few trickles of water drip into the sunken pool as if it had hypnotised her. For a long few minutes she simply sat there, perched on the edge, the remains of dried blood on her own body and the room exuded the stench of death.
What was she doing? She could simply run as soon as she got the chance, she had the freedom to pull it off now and she was armed too. A past version of her would have done. Left behind the mess and saved herself and started anew.
The silence in the room was palpable as Vala finally stood back up. A life of what she'd already escaped once before awaited her and she could try to run if she wanted to. But she knew she couldn't, she had to make this right somehow.
"Undress yourself or call another slave." She offered nonchalantly as she walked towards him, certain that anything he might do in retaliation would be minor now she knew what she knew. Something from Vala's eyes was missing, yes there was the spark of defiance as ever, but there was a melancholy resignation that seemed to dull her. "I'm sure you don't want the memory of performing such a lowly task, besides it's not difficult."
no subject
The Crocodile God waited, unmoving, having fallen into the occasional, unnatural stillness that took him sometimes, and remained that way until she was close, then he abruptly moved, a blur of action. He caught her arm, the one that the Jaffa had injured, and with a single pull, had her against him and the blood chipping off him like dust and ash.
He put a hand on Vala's neck, where he would have her one day. It didn’t take much to let the metal of the hand device dig in, warningly, and easily hold her immobile. The God leaned in close, so close that Daniel inside squirmed with discomfort. Their foreheads pressed. His lips almost grazed Vala's as they looked into her eyes as Sobek spoke. Their voice was soft and intimate like a lover's.
"I want the memory of you doing it," Daniel's voice said. "Do it. For me."
no subject
Daniel's voice and the twisted sadistic intimacy that threatened to pull her in to the facade had tipped her over the edge. Lips trembling in fear as she spoke, her breath whispered against his lips with every word in response.
"You're not Daniel. That's not Daniel. Let him live and I won't kill myself. But you can undress yourself."
no subject
The tears served little to move him. He watched them trace down her face with something like brief fascination. Sobek stroked the scar on the back of her neck, the touch tender and gentle, as if paying homage to something once great. She would be great once again. Greater than before. Her breath ghosted against his mouth. Daniel smiled softly. "How can you be so sure? You were once of the Gods. You know what it was like inside with one."
There was something black under the surface, a trace of anger and discomfort. There was more truth than he liked in those words. Only moments ago, he had nearly confused his hosts instinctive urge with his own. Unacceptable, unthinkable, inconceivable.
