Asuka mashed at the buttons on the controller, eyes locked on the screen in front of her. After that debacle in that stupid modeling contest and then the robots, she needed time to unwind. Time where she wasn't feeling absolutely helpless or angry or pissed off. Which was hard. All she did was pilot. Or prepare in her X-Wing. But at least that gave her a purpose. Something to do to break up the monotony, so she could ignore the fact that she'd already failed one world. She shook her head.

Why was she dwelling on that? She was Asuka Langley Soryu. She had her Eva back, she had a purpose. She was invincible. And she would win.

Asuka went back to concentrating on her video game.

"I dunno, we didn't have anything like that in Ponyville," Rainbow Dash said. "Looks like you're pressing buttons on a thing while staring at another thing."

"Ponyville-?" Asuka turned to finally look at Rainbow Dash and froze up for a moment. A flying, talking pony. Now she'd seen everything.

"You're a pony."

With a bright rainbow mane. You CAN'T forget the bright rainbow mane.

"And you're a human," she said. "Trust me, that's still just as weird to me as me being a pony is to you."

Yes. The bright rainbow mane tended to be a distraction as well.

"But. Humans are normal."

Today was turning out to be very strange.

Dash kind of felt like she'd had this conversation before. "Not where I'm from. Equestria has ponies. I've never even seen a human before till I woke up on this ship!"

Asuka blinked. "But... how does that even work?"

Considering she'd seen a lot of strange things, a talking, flying pony (with rainbow hair) was really-

Actually, no, that was still pretty weird.

"Pretty well. Why shouldn't it work?" Considering Equestria was a happy, harmonious land, and most of the human worlds she's heard hinting about didn't seem to be, it seemed to work better than what THEY did!

"You don't even have thumbs!"

Asuka's world, for example, was pretty damn crapsack.

Compared to Equestria, most worlds were. No worries!

"You don't have wings or hooves, and you do all right... right?"

"How do you hold tools?"

Asuka can't quite get over that.

"In our mouths. Or some of them we can use with hooves. And unicorns use magic to lift things." Duh. She opened her mouth, then rolled her eyes. "I'd ask how you control the weather or raise the sun, but let me guess, that just happens by itself on your world."

"You know the sun doesn't actually rise, right? It just looks like it rises. The earth orbits the sun and weather is caused by pressure changes and other variables in the atmosphere and on the ground," Asuka scoffed.

"Your world sounds weird."

Rainbow pointed a hoof at her. "YOU can have your world where things happen like that, but in Equestria Princess Celestia raises the sun. Trust me, I've BEEN to the Summer Sun Festival, I've seen her do it. And I'm in charge of clearing the skies around Ponyville! It works a lot better than weird places where things just 'happen' and all sorts of weird creatures pop up and bother you!"

"How do the physics of your universe even work?"

Because clearly that's the most important topic.

Considering the pony is hovering by flapping her wings serenely, very loosely indeed.

"Earth ponies raise the crops and tend to the animals. Pegasus ponies are in charge of weather, like making clouds or clearing them, or making rainbows. Unicorns change the seasons. Princess Celestia raises the sun, and Princess Luna raises the moon. There's kind of a story behind that but it doesn't have much to do with how the world works."
