Aim to Win [Closed, pre Beyond the Sea Plot]
The excitement of the poddrop had died down after a few days and Lash found herself back to her usual routine on the ship. It was rather amazing how much she could manage to do each 'day', from working in the labs, to shop management to training in the sensoriums. Truthfully, everything served to keep her occupied, which was an excellent thing--if Lash ever got bored anywhere it was a sure setup for a disaster of terrible repercussions. Probably explosive ones. Speaking of which...
"Fire! Fire!"
One of the ship's sensoriums was now being taken by her as she played it wisely and used it to tested out various prototypes before building them. They'd come out with a lot of robot parts to build thanks to SHODAN's rampage, and she was going to make the most use of what she'd gotten. With a typical Lash twist and flare, of course.
The soldier obeyed and fired the first cannon with a button press, the cannonball flying out and landing far away. Lash kept tabs using a CO pad, analyzing how the prototype fared. Upon landing, the cannonball opened itself up amongst the surprised enemy soldiers and turned into a small robot with turrets built on each side.
"Tee hee! It works, it works! Now, if I adjust the energy here, I should be able to build a small army, and that would be useful to aid during away missions..."
As she was about to approve it, the robot exploded. Soldiers, trees, dirt and burnt robot pieces flew into the air, landing close by.
"Oh oops! Hmmm...better not put that much energy into that one. The crew could lose a few arms and legs like that!" She said it with such a calm voice too, even if she was speaking to no one but herself and the nearby soldiers. With a small flick, she brushed off a piece of cracked robot, and began another prototype test.
Just another typical day for a wunderkind.

"Hey babe. Nice weather we're having, huh?" he said, smugly casual.

"Yeah it's raining...ice cream and candy." At least she thinks it was, considering the sunglasses made everything hard to see. In fact she took them off just as the entire mound of everything landed and splattered on the wooden floor.
Okay so they had planned for when the stuff went down. But the recoil meant that they still had a tidal wave of ingredients thrown at them. Woops.

"You know, if this were all real, it would be a pain in the ass to clean up," he pointed out. "Of course, if it were all real, we'd just have the Prinnies do most of it.

She flipped away a bit of the chocolate pieces, for what little good it did.

"You're a mess," he murmured.

"So are you!"

Her reaction to this was to freeze completely solid, her eyes as wide as dinner plates.

Needless to say, the battle was pretty intense right now, even if all Zetta saw was Mcafro Blush-a-lot.

She leaned on him more which was made more difficult with all that stuff on them.
"Uh...thank you." Wait what.

Entering an area she had no expertise is - no knowledge, no preparation, no way of studying. Nothing. Her brain was exploding with thoughts, yet it felt so strange and weirdly empty, with the one main being 'Holy shit! Do you realize what's happening?' that dragged her back and made her suddenly realize the entire situation. She was in a ship, far away from her homeworld, in a space that didn't quire really exist with someone she really liked and...wow. It felt like she hadn't really noticed everything that had happened, but now it hit her strongly. It defied everything...and yet...
...She did like it a lot...what was that she had told herself during that soul merging experience? She wouldn't care what they thought? Yeah what a good time to think about it when you were covered with dessert and food but--wait who cared, any time to think about it was a good time!
Trust wasn't something Lash gave away that easily. In fact one could say she could count the people she trusted with one hand. Even with Zetta, trust was sometimes hard to give but weirdly enough NOW thinking about everything and what was happening was when she decided to give it to him completely. She managed to smile again, and hug him closer.
"Well I don't think you've seen me on fire either," she joked, trying to wash away her nervousness with bad jokes. Geeze you'd think he'd asked something horrible. But hey, baby steps. Lash could take them. "I bet my hair could make a pretty good torch tee hee!"
Thankfully, she wasn't too shabby when it came to kissing.

Zetta was not a protective person by nature. Sure, he ran his Netherworld reasonably competently, because it was his job and it benefited him to do so. But any challenge to something he considered 'his', he would meet with laughter and force not because he cared what happened, but because he wouldn't ever back down from the challenge. He fought for glory and fun, not out of honor or duty.
Except... if anyone ever did something to Lash, or even threatened something to Lash, he'd have no laughter and no particular enjoyment out of the way he tore the offending person to pieces. Because...
Well, he cared. He wouldn't let anyone hurt her. Not even himself.
"Right now you'd be more of a fried ice cream than a torch," he finally murmured, tongue flicking out to catch a smear of whipped cream on her chin.

A small, thoughtful pause as she pondered what she had just said before adding, "Not even a neotank."
Tentatively, she stuck out her tongue at his elbow.
"Tee hee! Caramel and chocolate."

He tugged on her wrist, lifting it up so he could lick some whipped cream off her elbow in turn. "See, not quite as shiver-inducing to the person receiving it. The neck and face are a lot more sensitive, after all."
no subject
"I-i guess!" Maybe this would work better if she had had more physical contact in her life. Now everything was different and new and...squeak-worthy.

She then screamed right into it, whipped cream and all, and all Zetta could hear was the muffled version, as she flailed her legs a little and her ear turned as red as her checks. Then, in a brilliant display of maturity, she threw the cushion at him, the terrible craftsmanship of anything made in Black Hole that could possibly give comfort (and Zetta's hair) causing it to explode in thousands of chicken feathers around them.
Lash was just making it worse without realizing it.

He sputtered for a moment, more out of having feathers in his mouth than any real anger, then burst into outright laughter. The spectacle was just too absurd NOT to laugh, especially since between the two of them they looked tarred-and-feathered, except instead of tar it was delicious ice cream toppings.

They looked so silly!

"Memory's foam is good for vehicles," she began, thinking before her face had this "O!" moment. "...yo'know, I never really thought about it. I just slept around in the forests during campaigns most of the time. Pillows were something Commanding Officers got to use."
Such high luxury items. Why did their hanging outs and dates always end like this.
But now that they were even closer, she just leaned her feather-filled head on his chest.
