At least we have pants [ Closed ]
Things were not good. This was the polite way of putting things, anyway. SHODAN had announced herself over the ship's systems and now there were crazy, deadly robots running around. And worst of all, Khaji was silent. He wasn't dead, Jaime was sure of that. He would have felt it. But distressingly, somehow, they were cut off from each other. And Jaime was just now realizing how horribly alone he felt without the faint buzzing presence of his friend and partner constantly at the back of his mind, ready to offer advice, a sarcastic quip (he was getting really good at that) or some mild observation.
So here he was, the Blue Beetle, darting through the corridors and dodging robots to check on a friend. Without powers. Great. If he was in bad shape, how as M'gann holding up? He scurried at ast into the crew quarters and headed down the line to her room, throwing open the door.
"M'gann? Are you okay There are a bunch of robots out here!"

Her super-strength was gone, true, but her natural shape (http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/7/79752/1858919-miss_martian_edit_super.jpg) was still built to kill. She was half again as big as her usual size, proportionately strong, and subsequently more than able to put her clawed-capped fist through a robot.
Facing a friend who had never seen her natural shape was a little more challenging, however.
She flushed, a dull spring green color spread over her pale face, and yanked the robot off her tail, holding it up in front of herself like a human girl might hide behind a towel at being walked in on unclothed.
"J-Jaime! I'm okay I'm just... uh... I'm kind of stuck in this shape."
She still SOUNDED like normal Megan, but hearing the voice come out of that nasty fanged mouth was surely a little bizarre...

"Oh. Jeeze! M'gann, are you okay? Why are you stuck like that?" Hurriedly, Jaime slipped inside and closed the door, hopefully keeping any more curious robots off them for now.

"I can't seem to use any of my powers, shapeshifting included. I'm stuck like this because it's, uh... what I normally look like without using my abilities at all."
Logically she knew she shouldn't feel so embarrassed, but the shape she was stuck in had long ago become one she stopped wearing by choice...
"Are YOU okay?" she asked, making a concerted effort to shake off her discomfort and turn the conversation around to him. He was a lot more squishy and easy to injure than her in these situations. "Did SHODAN shut down Kahji Da too?"
no subject
"Uh. I don't know. All I know is I can't talk to him and I can't get my armor going. It's. Not good."
no subject
"Do you think we should stay put, or go try to shut down some of the robots maybe? They don't seem THAT durable, really..."
Not against alien claws anyhow judging by the junk heap against the wall.

". . .I think I'd know. He's pretty much connected directly to my nervous system. I think we're just being blocked." He sighed again and looked towards the door.
"Yeah. We probably should. I mean, I took down an alien invasion without powers. I can totally handle a few robots." A wry grin.
"I mean this time, I have pants."
no subject
"You've fought robots WITHOUT pants before?"

She shook her head, coming over to join him closer to the door.
"I'm sure this will be a piece of cake for you. Though, uh, maybe we could go to weapons first and get us something to work with?"
no subject
"Ready to get going?"

"Let's do it."

"Ready set go!" and she punched the door release.
There was a neat line of the robots waiting for them outside the door and she made a quick sweep of them with one foot, bowling three over with soccer kick that sent them all sprawling down the hallway, making space for Jaime to get out and get moving.
