In Which the Overlord is Flat On His Face

It's going to be one of those days.

In the hallway directly outside the mess hall lay a book. The bright red body and overall size clearly pointed to it being the Overlord, for those familiar with him, but his back cover was the one facing upwards. No sign of any minion around. None of the cursing, struggling, and flopping one would expect from Zetta in such an undignified posture.

Just a tome, lying flat on the ground, as if a crew member had simply discarded it thoughtlessly.

"I'm sure she's up front about a lot of things," Kaya said, "she's like that. But you should also stop to think about the fact that she and Hawke served in the same unit. So when you say bad stuff about him, it might actually bug her a little bit. Dies she actually laugh when you make fun of him?"

"Uh, it was a complicated situation at the time," Zetta said. Which was understating matters seriously, really.

"I'm not hearing a yes," Kaya said. "What I am hearing is that you assume she'll be ok with you making fun of Hawke, even though you don't really have a good reason to do it. Come on Overlord: think about it. He's the only person she knows from her world, and you keep actin out on him. Why?"

"He interrupted our fun! That's good enough for me, damn it!" Zetta snapped.

"Well how did he do it? Did he just come and say 'stop having fun?' or did he just arrive looking for someone he knew from his world? You really are underestimating how important it is to find someone you know , to make you deal with losing your world."

"Actually it was Pram's fault!" That was half-dodging the question, but still. "She deliberately got him to interrupt, for her own sadistic amusement!"
