Bendy time to a couple of days after Geartopia Shore Leave

Sprawled out on her front, right in the middle of the spacewalk, is one Vala Mal Doran. She's booked out a mini-player video thingy from the Media Library and is watching re-runs of 'Dallas' of all things, idly kicking her legs around in the air behind her. Maybe the recent shore leave gave her the taste for cowboy hats as she's still sporting the one that she got on Geartopia, and maybe she thinks it gives her that Pam Ewing look when she's at the ranch.

Vala looks like she was simply lying on any floor. Except because it's the spacewalk, it looks like there's a woman in a cowboy hat and pigtails floating in space. Not your everyday scene, but she's as relaxed as if it were. She's decided she quite likes it here, if she can see the stars then she can imagine being back home and maybe she can fool herself into thinking she's back on the Odyssey on her way to Atlantis. There's also not too many people around - and in particular, no Daniel.

She's been avoiding him ever since the great big shiner popped up on her cheekbone. Somehow she didn't think he'd be particularly impressed if he knew she'd been in a bar fight. So if he saw it then she'd have to make up all these lies about how she got it and maybe it was just best to give him a wide berth instead. That way she didn't have to lie.

Atom sat himself down, looking outside at the stars. "They all look different from Earth," he observed. "But I guess that makes sense. It's hard to even tell where we are any more. You don't recognize any of them, do you?""

"I only wish I did, Atom." Vala said sincerely, "but then again I'm probably not the best person to ask, I wouldn't know any of your Earth recognisable constellations. I'm too accustomed to seeing them from different angles."

Which wasn't entirely true, there were plenty of star patterns that remained the same throughout the Milky Way because of just how far away they were. But the fact remained none of them were out there.

"Are you going to offer me some of your candy then? I hear it does wonders for bruising," Vala winked at him.

"Yeah, I know," Atom said, blinking. "That's why I asked. Maybe it looks more like the stars you're used to looking at."

He held out a handful of the cactus fruit candy. "Sure. You shouldn't eat too much of it, though. You might get cavities." Uh. If cavities were possible on this ship; he wasn't too sure. But people said that kind of stuff about candy all the time, so.

"I'm afraid not," Vala shrugged. "Besides, I've never stayed in one place long enough anyway."

She took a piece and popped it into her mouth, it had a faint hint of the cactus beer taste that had got her so terribly drunk and nauseous and it made her wince a little. "That's horrible," She spat it straight back out into her hand. "I think I'm more concerned with it making me vomit than cavities. How can you eat it?"

Atom made a face as Vala spit out the candy. "Eww, gross. I think they're pretty good. Kinda different from what I'm used to, though." There was really no accounting for the tastes of robot children.

As if to prove this, Atom popped one of the candies into his mouth.
