Caution: Smartypants At Work [Open]
If there was one thing that made Miyako stand out amongst the second generation Chosen Children, it would be the fact that she was one of the smartest of the bunch. Keyword here: one of. There was also Ken, but she'd let that slide. Right now, she was using her smarts to do what she does best:
Tinker.
A brief search across the City had lead Miyako to discover a leftover desktop computer. However, the lack of power supply (or rather, the lack of plugs to slap the machine in) has lead Miyako to get creative and had her in Engineering to do something.
"Just what did you have in mind, Miyako-san?" Hawkmon asked, his wings crossed over his chest.
"Simple - if I can get this computer working, maybe I can start trying to build a Digi Port!" Miyako said, digging through some tools.
"Miyako-san, that's dangerous! You don't know if the Digital World survived and even if it did, this ship's too dangerous to attempt it!" Hawkmon said.
"Even so, we have to try!" Miyako replied, pulling out a strange device. "...what the heck is this?"
"...see? This is why doing this is next to impossible!" Hawkmon said. "We don't know what this stuff can do!"
"...jeez, you're such a party pooper! I'm going to do this anywayyyEEEEEEE!" Miyako yelped, the odd device shocking her. Dropping it, it took her awhile to recover, not caring that her hair just frazzled and parts of the plantsuit were damaged by the shock. "...okay, we need real tools here!"

It might take Miyako and Hawkmon a moment to locate the voice -- it depended on how long it took one or both of them to look up. Jonas hovered overhead, watching the girl and her bird-like friend with a curious expression.
no subject
"Okay, now I've seen everything. So far." Hawkmon added, a little on the defensive side. No offense, Jonas, but he doesn't trust you at the moment.
no subject
"[I am hardly the strangest thing that you will even encounter,]" he said dryly. "[My name is Jonas; I am the head of the Programming sub-department in Engineering. Is there anything that I can help you with? Either of you?]"
no subject
"H-Head?" Miyako uttered. She'd been busted. "Ah, well, I've been wanting to get this old computer working, and seeing as there's no plugs here, I'm wanting to try to get some sort of power running through it. Just, well..." she held up the tool that electrocuted her. "...I don't know what most of this stuff does."

"I hope you have a name, as well." Hawkmon pointed out. "It would be awkward to call you some sort of nickname all the time."
no subject
He is teasing them, just a little.
"[Have you been invited to join Engineering yet, Miyako? I assume that it is at least something that interests you a little.]"
no subject
"Invited? Ah, n-no, I haven't! Then again, between everything that's gone on since I awoke - again - I haven't had the chance to really see about anything here!" Miyako said. "Is it okay?"
no subject
no subject
"Don't want to hurt yourself, right?" He picked up a tool and turned it over in his hands.
". . .Do you even know what this one does?"
no subject
Getting to her feet and trying to make herself a little more presentable, she continued. "All of this stuff is just so... alien. I guess I should have been more careful..."
no subject
"What are you working on?"
no subject
"Have you tried those omnicomms?" Hawkmon pointed out.
"I would, but I don't think the guy who runs it would like DigiPorts popping up all over the place."
no subject
"I wish Izumi-san was here. He'd probably be full of all sorts of ideas and theories."
no subject
At the moment, though, what she was working on wasn't much - the actual desktop computer wasn't opened, but some of the bolts were undone. It looked like she was getting ready to pop it open to find the power source.
no subject
"I'll give you a hand. Is there a screwdriver or is it all this weird stuff?" He poked through the pile of tools with one hand.
no subject
"That's a good question. I was trying to find one myself."
no subject
"I don't see one, either. . ."
no subject
"I'll say...!" Hawkmon replied.
no subject
"Because otherwise we're not getting this case open."
no subject
"Are you guys okay? What happened?"

Maybe Miyako wasn't supposed to be here... it was awfully hard to tell who among the crew was a normal human kid, and who wasn't.

Atom stuck out a hand, smiling. "I'm Atom. I'm in Engineering, I guess, but I'm kind of new."
no subject
"'You guess'? I'm guessing this ship doesn't have much on order?"
no subject
no subject
"Whoa! Hey, you all right there?"
no subject

no subject
"A pleasure." he replied, bowing slightly.
no subject
She looked at Hawkmon curiously. "Digimon, huh? Hey, do you two know Hikari?"
no subject
"...Yeah, I get it boy. Something happened. Are you okay, Miyako-ch...Miyako-san?"
