The Clothes Make the (Wo)Man

Maxine, being a pretty energetic girl, over all, wasn't exactly hard to find on the ship-- she had a tendency to be everywhere at once (well not literally, but that was obvious, wasn't it?) and to be moving excitedly from one thing to the other. She wasn't letting any of this situation get her down, and she was doing her best to adapt to the situation and to find a good place for herself! She still needed to figure out the departments and stuff, but for now? She had something she could work on that she felt pretty confident she was good at, and that she enjoyed. And that was a good start, right?

In the Sensoriums-- because she didn't want to waste anything with real supplies, that would be awful and unfair-- Maxine glided happily in her imaginary workshop. The entire room was spread haphazardly with cloth, sewing machines, mannequins and more-- basically everything she could want to make costumes and clothing. Even if this wasn't actually real. At the very least, she could use the Sensoriums to design some stuff that she could make for real, later! That way nothing would go to waste.

Cheerfully, Maxine settled in front of a mirror, humming loudly to herself while she held up fabrics in front of her, admiring the colours and materials.

"Why not." He did blink as everything was gone. "I think it'll take me a while to get used to that."

[windwitch]

Maxine laughed. "It's kind of amazing, isn't it?" she said. "When Punchy was showing it to me for the first time, I was so surprised! I couldn't believe that it could really work, or that it'd actually not be that hard to control. It's still pretty, um-- wild, I guess?"

He nodded. "I'm going to have to come back here some other time and see what it can do." And see if he could discover how it worked, although he wasn't very optimistic on that point.

[windwitch]

"It can do some pretty amazing stuff," Maxine said with a happy laugh. "Punchy set up a whole musical for me, and it was almost just like going to see it for real. And then a restaurant and dinner. It's kind of amazing how much it can do." She looked embarrassed, then said, "Anyway, we should go take a look at what we can do, shouldn't we?"

"Of course." Half the trouble with this place was that there were so many wonders it was hard to know where to start with them. "I think I know the way to the lab," he said, starting off in the right direction, "but I wasn't expecting a spaceship to be so big."

[windwitch]

Maxine nodded as she followed along, walking to be polite (though her hair did move in a faint breeze).

"It really is pretty huge, isn't it? I don't really know how big I expected a spaceship to be, I've not really done much in the way of space faring or anything, you know? But I've seen some weird stuff in the news or in stories before. But Stacy is really something else, you know?"

"She is," he agreed. "I've only been on a couple of spaceships before, but neither of them were this big and neither of them were alive." Although the TARDIS was probably unique too - he was willing to bet not many spaceships were bigger on the inside.

"What space faring have you done?"

[windwitch]

"Not very much," Maxine admitted cheerfully. "Most of my adventures stayed on Earth. Though one time I was taken to the moon! There was a city built there and I got to see it and it was really amazing and I almost couldn't believe it was happening! But other than that, not very much happened off of the planet. I did get to travel around the world a lot though!"

A pause, and then, "What about you? I guess you've probably seen a lot more than me, if you've been on even a couple of spaceships."

"I've been to a few different planets," he admitted. "But never the moon. I'd loved to have gone there." To be able to see it with your own eyes, something no man ever had... "They built a city on it? How did they do that without an atmosphere and low gravity?"

[windwitch]

Maxine laughed slightly, but grimaced. "Well, to be honest, I'm not actually completely positive. I mean, it was when my team was kind of split up, so I wasn't there for most of the action. But it revolved around the alien power of this one team member of ours. It's some pretty amazing stuff that he's capable of, and others like him-- I wish I could explain it better for you, though."
