The Clothes Make the (Wo)Man

Maxine, being a pretty energetic girl, over all, wasn't exactly hard to find on the ship-- she had a tendency to be everywhere at once (well not literally, but that was obvious, wasn't it?) and to be moving excitedly from one thing to the other. She wasn't letting any of this situation get her down, and she was doing her best to adapt to the situation and to find a good place for herself! She still needed to figure out the departments and stuff, but for now? She had something she could work on that she felt pretty confident she was good at, and that she enjoyed. And that was a good start, right?

In the Sensoriums-- because she didn't want to waste anything with real supplies, that would be awful and unfair-- Maxine glided happily in her imaginary workshop. The entire room was spread haphazardly with cloth, sewing machines, mannequins and more-- basically everything she could want to make costumes and clothing. Even if this wasn't actually real. At the very least, she could use the Sensoriums to design some stuff that she could make for real, later! That way nothing would go to waste.

Cheerfully, Maxine settled in front of a mirror, humming loudly to herself while she held up fabrics in front of her, admiring the colours and materials.

"Thank you," Maxine said again, happily, and nodded. "Great! As long as you're not too short on green or something else that I'd need; I wouldn't want to cause problems for someone else, when it's kind of a low priority thing. I'll probably make something for Punchy and for Clef first, anyway."

"It should be okay. I'm not short on green or anything at least." Rein grinned. "Go ahead and make something new if you need to!"

Maxine smiled happily. "Okay, great!" she said. "I don't know for sure what the other two want, just yet, but we talked a little bit... so maybe I could work on some designs or something?" She sounded thoughtful. "Oh, but I shouldn't keep you for all that, should I?"

"Sure, whichever you want to do," said Rein, giggling. "It's a fun toy isn't it?"

"It really is," Maxine said happily. "I think you've made something really great here. It's so useful, too!"

"Hehe thanks. It took me weeks to do all the coding for it." admitted Rein. "But thanks for that!"

"I could imagine," Maxine laughed. "I'm only sort-of good with things like computers, since drama was really my area of expertise. But it'd still have been a shame if I never studied anything else." With a hum, she fiddled with some designs, brainstorming a little.

"Yeah I build stuff all the time. I prefer not being part of Engineering though. It's a little easier for me to do independent stuff." remarked Rein, thinking of her maintenance tube among other things.

Maxine nodded to that, understanding. "I could see why-- it's sometimes nice to have a little leeway, right? And to be able to do your own things, instead of having to follow specific plans or whatever; it's not like you can't do lots of useful things on your own!" She smiled brightly again.

"That's certainly true. And it helps give me an idea of what to make next," added Rein with a nod.
