Outlaws: The Red Rose Gets its Petals Plucked in a Game of Cards

Red Rose was a bar in Western Side that only a few brave men and women chose to venture into. Once the private property of one Snidley Pridlash, the bar was still full of sympathizers and men who could easily stick a knife into your back.

Which is why, of course, they'd only send the best for the job. At least they thought.

Allard, Nomalanga's right hand man, didn't really know the people he had picked out for it, but he was a good judge of character just by a person's eyes and attitude, and so, the quiet peace of this small place and all it's terrible men was interrupted by five people dressed in their best cowboy attires, looking about as dangerous as everyone else inside. Granted, their eyes first drew to the only lady of the group, Aya (aka Sharp Shooter), but she was flocked only by Stacy's best; Ash (Aka Iron Hand), Mal (Aka Lonesome Cowboy), Eine (Aka Fire Hands) and Han Solo (aka Han Solo I mean Scoundrel). Did they really need those nicknames? No but you had to admit it sounded cool.

They had been dressed up to fit even more with the decor, sporting pairs of leather pants, spurs (they made the best noise) and a leather belt which held their guns, they looked as local as any of the other wild animals in this place. The musicians stopped for a minute, but once no one else tried to kill them, they continued.

The bar was modern, sleek and very steampunkish. Lovely ladies in tight clothing stood near the entrance, eying the men with approving gazes. There were rows of tables and wooden ones farther down all playing one game;

Poker.

And that's what they'd come in to do. There mission was to find information about Snidley by playing card games and beating the locals. There was word of a five man team that was unbeatable; A humanoid with four hands named Fingers, a Lion named Leo, a Meerkat named Tim, a robot named Bolts and a Warthog named Stinks.

The liquor was hard, and the game would probably last all day. And hell, if they managed to play good, they might actually walk away with this with not only information, but some money to boot.

[OOC- Just so you four know, I don't really know that much about Poker and it's going to be more about the CR and stuff with dramatic hands than real games of blackjack, so no worries if you don't either.]

So apparently they were "Stacy's best." Ankh wasn't exactly enthused by that codifier, but well, at least they got off the ship and it wasn't too much of a bother. He had to admit, the guns were a pretty nice deal; although he could definitely make without those stupid nicknames. Fire Hands? What did they want him to do, burn up the cards?

Well, The sooner they dealt with this, the sooner he could get back to not having to deal with it. All they had to do was beat some idiots at a game of cards. Although the Greeed was a tad bit perturbed by the women looking at them, and in fact looked back with a look of bewilderment. What the hell did they want?

Eh, maybe he could just ignore them. And back to his 'teammates;' "Come on, let's get this done already."

"Don't get too cocky kid," Han replied, both because he was getting cocky (as it was a Han Thing To Do) and also because the guy's face didn't look like someone who was natural at shady bars and/or cantinas.

They were, however, part of Han's life for the past few years. He still wasn't a huge team player, but there was something the scoundrel didn't mind doing, and that was playing cards. After a little readup on the game, he declared it much easier than Sabacc and figured it would be therapeutic to send a few goons away losing everything. Hell it's what he did best as a scoundrel. The gun in his hostler was definitely not the type that had been given in this world, and his own. He gave an approving look at the ladies, before walking coolly to the table where their victims were.

He took a seat, not even asking, not too upright nor too lazy. Gave the other men a look that dared them to say anything about it, his hand on his holster.

"'Kid'?" That was almost worse than being called 'Fire Hands.' No, probably worse. Ankh looked at Han in annoyance, and then ticked his tongue in annoyance and glanced around.

"And what do you know?" He asked, eventually following the guy to the appropriate table. Not that he had any experience with these kinds of places, but it wasn't as if he was totally lost in the water on what to do. Shingo had play poker before his friends from the police department, and it was simply a matter of peering into his memories for a bit to get a grasp on the game.

He quirked an eyebrow at the assembly of opponents before rolling his eyes and taking his own seat.

Aside from possibly Han, no one looked more like they belonged in the saloon that Captain Reynolds, probably because aside from the lack of a light sprinkling of future technology, he might as well have stepped back in time to his own worlds. Certainly the resemblance was enough that he'd even been allowed to keep his coat and gun. Sure, the rules they were playing by were a little on the old side, but he'd always been a fan of the classics, and he didn't have any doubts they were going to clean this lot out and get the information they needed.

He just worried about how many they were going to have to shoot to keep the winnings, and how much trouble that would bring down on their heads.

"He knows not to look like you're the law in a place that don't take kindly to it," he pointed out to the kid, finding 'Fire Hands' discomfort amusing. The way the younger man was reacting to the attentions being thrown his way was far too much like Mal's own medic for him to escape the captain's amusement. "Just give a nice smile for the ladies, and make sure their hands aren't going anywhere near a gun or your wallet, and I promise they won't bite unless you pay 'em."
