On your broomsticks! [OPEN]
Following the instructions given to him by crew members here and there, Cedric stepped through a green archway tucked on a corner of the fifth floor and entered a grey void. He closed his eyes, concentrating on the sort of place that would be perfect for a day of flying. He imagined a bright grassy plain, a large lake, and a forest off to the side. Vague memories turned into vivid images surrounding him, so thoroughly convincing that he really believed he'd been taken from the ship and placed on a field back on Earth. It was quite a convincing illusion
.
All it needed now was the key piece: a group of brooms. He thought for a moment on which brooms to provide them with. Firebolts were the world standard, but he'd never known one well enough to be able to picture it accurately. The school brooms, Shooting Stars, were nice and safe for new riders but not quite reliable. In the end, he knew his own broom best: a sleek Nimbus 2001, gifted by his father. As long as he instructed the fliers to go slowly, they should be safe on those brooms.
Visitors would find Cedric side-mounted on a broom in his black and yellow Quidditch robes, gliding just slightly over the grass. As soon as he spotted them, he'd greet them enthusiastically and move to touch down. "Hi!"
((ooc: wide open for everyone to join in! We'll be doing some group exercises too, so thread around! Fly as a group when you're ready!))

It wasn't like he wanted to be coddled, but hurking a bunch of cell medals all over might make the human spaz or something. Not desirable. "Ah, well~ I guess I'll try the hovering, then. But..."
Caz stared at the broom again. "How do you sit on it?"
no subject
"First, though, you'll want to gain your broom's trust. There's one on the ground just over there. All you have to do is hold your hand over it and command it to jump into your hand. You just say 'Up!'", he explained, hoping that time would help the man get in the proper mindset.
no subject
"It's inanimate, though. How can it trust me?" Regardless, he steeled his face and held his hand out. "Up?"

"Confidence? Hn~" He normally had that in spades- well okay, a bit too much of that -but he was still a bit preoccupied with the whole 'magical broom trust' thing. A moment after staring at the broom, and he finally slung his leg over. That was probably the most confirmation to being ready as he was gonna give.

"Now when you're ready, just kick off and give it a try," he suggested, demonstrating a simple hover and drift this way and that.

"I think I need a seatbelt~" ...maybe a bit of sarcasm would make him feel better.

"You'll be caught if you start to fall. Just hold on tight. Bring your knees closer together and stretch your arms and legs over, it's more stable that way."
no subject
"You're not going to bug out if I shift to my natural form, right~?" Since when did he care to warn people? Whatever. If he wanted to play around with this broom stuff, he'd have to at least pretend to be nice.
no subject
"Er...well I suppose so, sure! As long as that doesn't involve attacking me."
no subject
"Okay~ I can feel the wind better like this, anyway." His illusion felt...stuffy, sometimes. Caz rested an elbow on the broom, seeming much more lackadaisical, pretty much draping on the broom. "Continue on, professor~"
no subject
"Right. So we were at steering, right?" Right. He adjusted his grip on his own broom handle. "To do that, you just need to point the handle and shift your weight. Like this will make it move faster, and like this will slow it down," he explained, demonstrating each direction.

"I think I got it~"
-deciding to zip off down the green. So what if he didn't know how to stop?

He followed behind, drifting this way and that way as he tried to predict where the other was going.

Which roughly translated to 'Cazali was flying really really fast and erratically'. At the very least, he wasn't crashing in to things.

He dipped toward the lake and leaned down to trail his fingers in the water, still lifting his head to watch every so often. Cedric could zoom up just in case.
