"We might find out before this shore leave is over," she said, almost off-handedly. Generally, there was always one person who had to do the one thing they shouldn't. Or who just didn't pay attention. "The pink sky, though.. It's the first time I've ever heard of a planet having it naturally."

"I was on one once that had this lemon-yellow sort of sky," he muses. "Very pale, too. You'd not even realize it wasn't clouds until someone pointed it out to ye, then ye could see it. I've not seen pink, though." Nor, he realizes, has he actually seen this particular member of the crew around, and he offers out his hand. "I don't think we've met before. Jamie McCrimmon."

"Lemon-yellow sky? Do clouds normally seem to be that color to you?" She doesn't say that to be mean, but she's actually curious. Because he did say it was hard to tell it wasn't clouds...

At least, they are for him, back home in Scotland. For all he knows, however, she's not from there and has no idea what he's talking about. "I'd not been on that other planet before, ye see. So the first time I saw them, I thought maybe it was early enough in the morning they looked that way. But the Doctor said the skies were always that color there."
He can't really think of any good reason why the Doctor would lie about what color something was supposed to be, and he gives her a small shrug. "He'd know better than I would about that sort of thing, anyway."
no subject
"I was just checking. For a moment it sounded like yellow clouds were normal for you. Though why would a doctor know about such things?"
no subject
He does feel somewhat badly over having confused her, even inadvertently, and gives her a slightly apologetic look for it. Still, he's quick enough to correct her when it comes to her question. "Not a doctor. The Doctor. He's a friend of mine, and, well, to be honest with ye, he knows a lot about a lot of things. Not just medicine. I guess my point was just that there's some other planets out there that are different, that's all. Have ye been on many yourself?"

And then she realizes that he said Earth. The place she's looking for with her friends on their ship.
"But... From Lost--Earth? You're actually from there?" She knows Jr. said people were on this ship from said planet, but actually meeting someone from Earth is entirely different.
no subject
"Of course I am. I'm from Scotland." He hesitates for a moment, giving her a considering sort of look, then decides to go ahead and just ask her what he's thinking anyway. "I take it that by 'lost' you're not exactly referring to what the Ohm've done to our worlds?"

Jamie thinks about it for a moment, then comes to a decision. "Aye, well. I'll not say it'll be quite the same, but if ye like sometime, I can think up Scotland for ye in the Sensoriums. That is, if ye think it'd help."
no subject
"When would you like to do it?"
no subject
But when to do it? That's a fair question, actually, and he taps a finger on his lips while he considers. "Well, I'm not sure how long any of us will have here, and I've a friend that I think may want to spend some time down on the planet. But if you'd like, we could see about getting in touch when we get back?"
