Nothing Quite Like Breaking Stuff (OPEN)

Jack's kind of annoyed right now. Well, more than kind of. Leon took his omnicom! What gives him the right, huh? Jack knows he probably shouldn't have hacked Sam's, but didn't it turn out alright in the end? Heck, everyone should be hailing him as a hero for finding the guy's plans! Not that Jack much likes the idea of being thought of as a hero, but still. Is a little respect that much to ask?

So right now he's falling back on the oldest standby in the book for being frustrated with nothing to do about it: busting stuff up.

Jack has the sensorium set to replicate a particular room in his evil lair. It's mostly bare concrete with some lines painted on the floor, it's the room he usually uses for assembling any really big bots. Instead, he has five smaller ones sitting ready. He's set his helipack off to one side so he doesn't accidentally get it damaged. He holds the Monkey Staff in both hands.

"Monkey Staff!" he shouts, activating it. "Alright fightbots, bring it!"

The robots spring to life and come at Jack. Clearly, they know kung fu. Jack? Jack only sort of knows kung fu. But that's not stopping him, and he has the staff making him much tougher and more agile than normal.

"YAAAAHHH!"

If you look in on the loud crashing and random monkey sounds, he's bouncing all over the room beating the crap out of robots. If you watch one, you'll notice they pick up any broken off limbs, repair themselves, and return to the fray regularly. Jack seems to be just getting started.

Who knew he could actually fight?

Consider Marcus intrigued by the loud smashing noises-- and a kid who looks more than a bit like a monkey bouncing around the room smashing robots. He had been wandering around the ship, trying to find his bearings, but this looked much more interesting. He leaned against the wall just inside the doorway, watching quietly with crossed arms. No need to get involved just yet...

[identity profile] tasted-death.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Marcus shrugs from his position against the wall. "What'd you want me to do? It wasn't my fight." he points out, looking at the retractable robots with interest. They didn't look like any Terminators he'd ever seen... which probably meant they weren't Terminators.

[identity profile] tasted-death.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither is Marcus, but he's not snapping at someone bothering to try and talk to him. "... right. Me standing here, not doing anything, distracted you." Marcus says, giving kid-who-got-beat-up-but-not-killed-by-robots an incredulous look.

"... what were those robots, by the way? They don't look like any I've seen." To be fair, Marcus' experience with robots consists of two days in a future ruled by genocidal robots, so he hasn't had a whole lot of variety.

[identity profile] tasted-death.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Marcus is just going to let it go now, because clearly the kid was mad at something and it might as well not be him. And-- well, kicking it wasn't going to help, especially if it had been deactivated.

"Well, that explains why they haven't killed anyone. Bad for training." That might be a tiny hint of sarcasm in Marcus' voice, but his face is remarkably straight. His experience with robots has also been a tiny bit traumatic.

[identity profile] tasted-death.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Marcus frowned. "... Jackbots?" On the scale of scary robot names, that's significantly below something like, say, 'Terminators' but slightly above 'Marcus Wright'. "And who puts blades on a robot when guns are more effecti-- okay, that's weird." No, people don't usually turn from monkey-people to regular-people in front of Marcus.

[identity profile] tasted-death.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Skynet wasn't worried so much about monetary (or personnel) loss so much as eradicating the human race, and Marcus had really never thought about it that way before. "Fair point." he said, sticking his hands in the pockets of his coat.

There's not a lot on this ship that Marcus is used to. "Your... transformation. Is that normal?" he asked. That probably wasn't the most tactful way to say it, but baffled Marcus is baffled.

Ron enters the room, and sees Jack's monkey-like form.

"Okay, now that is just SICK AND WRONG dude."

[identity profile] potentialmonkey.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. You willingly turned yourself into a monkey person. Only crazy people do that."

[identity profile] potentialmonkey.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I've got no problem with monkey powers. I have monkey powers. I have a problem with you looking like a monkey."

[identity profile] potentialmonkey.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Dude, you have hair in places where there shouldn't be hair!"

[identity profile] potentialmonkey.livejournal.com 2009-07-12 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
"No, cuz' it's ridiculous!"

[identity profile] potentialmonkey.livejournal.com 2009-07-12 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Whatever. I'm still not the one who looks like a monkey."

[identity profile] potentialmonkey.livejournal.com 2009-07-12 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, you try being roomed with your summer camps insane chimp mascot and not have a few hangups about monkeys."

[identity profile] potentialmonkey.livejournal.com 2009-07-12 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"And this is relevant how?"

[identity profile] grayaura.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Mai has to watch this. She hasn't seen anyone fight quite like that since... well, the Avatar was the closest person she could imagine bouncing around quite like that. Or maybe Ty Lee. She watches him for a few more moments, then deadpans, "...what's with the weird sounds?"

[identity profile] thethirdhalfa.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Of course Dani is gonna investigate the fighting sounds. She liked fighting, which included watching it. So she moved into the Sensorium, sticking near the door since she didn't want to get hit on accident or interfere without warning. It would annoy her, so she wasn't gonna do it.

She watched as Jack bounced around for a minute and when she saw the bots repairing themselves, she decided to clap so her presence wouldn't come as a surprise at a bad time. "You're really good!"

After all, it's not like he knows real martial arts. The improvising style was the one she knew.

Well, this is a girl. She does kind of fight like one and again, no training for her.

So, if it works, it's good in her book. "Watch out behind you!" Dani called. Well, she didn't want him sucker punched because of her.

Every time she walks into the sensorium, something interesting happens. It's like a voyeuristic look into the interior fantasies of the rest of the crew. Her father, nosy jackass that he is, would love this and use it to find the exact spots in his target's psyche he could gently poke at.

Lafiel doesn't quite have that prankster's instinct but she does find it an interesting diversion. And if noone's there, there's always time for another ground battle simulation, something she doesn't enjoy but knows to be neccessary.

And there's Jack from her team, bouncing around like a rubber ball of destruction and screaming war cries from his pale throat. Lafiel watches for a second, before observing:

"Does that make it feel better?"

[identity profile] not-prncss-tldr.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Whatever it is that's pissing you off." She crosses her arms with an amused smirk and leans against the wall which is grey and gritty against her back. She's never seen a monkey so she has no idea what to make of his physical changes. If she knew, she'd probably make some kind of crack about two ends of those "ascent of man" images meeting.

[identity profile] not-prncss-tldr.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Lafiel's dark pupils make the same kind of rolling motion as Jack was just making in the air.

"Yes, of course, you're demolishing those robots and practically frothing at the mouth because you are at peace."

[identity profile] not-prncss-tldr.livejournal.com 2009-07-12 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Noone did. I'll go if you want privacy. I was simply here for more range time." She's happy to go, Jacky boy, but from her short time knowing you, she's deduced that something's up.

[identity profile] not-prncss-tldr.livejournal.com 2009-07-13 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
Lafiel would be a great person to do that, considering, but she has no intention of intruding on her teammate's privacy. "As you wish." She pivots on her heel to leave.
