Research

-1-
Ever since their talk, Taichi's been spending his time in the Media Library going over the cache of Gennai's notes. He had been able to find various files from different groups that cited themselves on Digimon things. One of them spoke about containment called Hypnos. The other was a recovery and containment and restoration group called DATS. All of them pointed however to various things that were making him ponder things over.

With access to Gennai's notes, and the notes on various Digivices, he was moving through it. He hadn't found anything on Izumi's world but figured that in time, he'd find something from their world literature-wise. Until then, he was browsing through a few other things, most importantly notes on Takato's D-Arc.

Leaning back in his chair, Taichi examined it. "So it interfaces with cards, and then grants the digimon power ups. Digimon rarely come back from a process called data absorbing, which strengthens the winner of the battle. Pretty straight forward."

That was another thing worrying him. What if one of the digimon fell in battle, and couldn't revive without a Primary Village? What then?

Just another thing to research too, as he passed over a small footnote about DigiXros.

Later on, Taichi was driving through the city. It wasn't like he wasn't skilled at driving, but he was taking it easy. With Agumon in the back seat, he turned the corner and hit the brakes.

"What's going on, Taichi?" inquired Agumon.

"Agumon... look at that." Getting out of the car, he and Agumon hopped out as there stood a familiar row of toy-like blocks, childrens pens and a familiar tree.

"It's... Primary Village," said Agumon. "How...?"

"I dunno," said Taichi. "I was sure we passed by this place before..."

"Yagami-san!" Ken had wandered by earlier, and shocked to see Primary Village, had been wandering around the familiar building blocks and hills of the village with Minomon in his arms, as usual.

"I don't understand. How can a place from the Digital World be in the real world?" He frowned, looking around the edge of the village at the other buildings and avenues in all their disparate forms.

"I wish Izumi-san was here. He'd probably know more about this and how it's possible." He shrugged helplessly.

"I wish everyone was here, honestly. It would make things easier."

"This place is strange. It almost reminds me of the Digital World, with all the weird, out of place things." He gave a nod.

"You're right, we do."

"I guess I have. It's kind of like being in the Digital World. Except. . ." He shrugged, not really sure how to put the difference into words.

"I'm used to us doing things, but it doesn't seem like any of the adults here want our help."

Media Library

Devlin had been let out of medbay a little while ago, but he'd been in too much pain to do much of anything. That led to a lot of trips to the Media Library, where he was slowly making his way through Akira Kurosawa's resume and about every action film he could find (comedies, he'd decided, would have to wait until it didn't hurt his ribs to laugh).

"Taichi?" he asked, seeing his girlfriend's brother researching something.

"Had a feeling," Devlin admitted. "Since he disappeared from medbay."

He tried to shrug, but it still hurt too much, so he just held up the player he'd borrowed. "Been watching movies lately. Just found Seven Samurai."

Devlin managed a smile. "Yeah, might be a good idea. Watched The Rashomon earlier. That was crazy."

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Devlin didn't argue, carefully getting himself in a seat with a slight wince.

"Really, how?"

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Devlin took a look at the notes. Most of the language was too technical and went way over his head, but the diagrams gave him some idea of what was going on.

"So it kind of makes the other digimon into armor? Would you be able to work with Hikari's Digimental for that?"

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, you said there are others, right, not from the same world? What kind of evolution can they do?"

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmm," Devlin said, thinking. This was a problem. Mixing powers could be a bad thing. Sure, in the case of his alien form, it had worked out, but at the cost of his father's sanity long before Devlin was born.

The only thing that came to mind was something that might just haunt him later on, he figured. "What about some kind of synchronization? Like how Philip has the Kamen Rider W powers?"

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-10-14 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
"But if you can find some kind of device that can set up the synchronization, that might work," Devlin suggested.

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-10-16 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"That's good, then," Devlin said. "And then maybe it can pool together your powers instead of them working completely differently."

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-10-16 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
"You're welcome," Devlin insisted with a smile. It was still a little awkward with Taichi being his girlfriend's brother, but something like this put him a little more at ease.

And there it went into awkward. Trying not to sound nervous, Devlin answered, "Pretty good, I guess. I think she's still a little worried by what happened with Tailmon."

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-10-16 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Devlin gave him a relieved smile. "Thanks. That's a little less to worry about."

[identity profile] farfrom-tree.livejournal.com 2011-10-17 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Devlin laughed slightly. "Good point."
