Why hadn't they done this before?

Last poddrop would have been much more tolerable parading around pretending to be pirates than just waiting for people to appear and guide them around the ship. Besides, there was a pretty good crew now, of course they wouldn't need a Wunderkind or and Overlord's help to do that all the time! They could introduce themselves in the coms later if they felt like it and leave all this free time that barely anyone used for the sensoriums. It wasn't like anyone they knew would wake up anyway...

As they had planned, they had spent the last hour with Pram outside to keep guard, not knowing what she'd been doing, engaged in a pirate battle. There was a huge ocean spanning as far as the eye could see, with two large pirate boats stuck in the middle, swaying around with each large wave. Both ships had taken damage, and Lash's deck had a few holes on it, but were still standing. Each one had sails with the colors of their occupant's; Lash's was a dark purple, her flag sporting Black Hole's symbol, with a metal figurehead of Flak as her bow. Zetta's sails were in dark red and black, a live buzzsaw as his figurehead, his pirate symbol (pirate and crossbones with flaming hair on top) flew as the highest flag on the ship . Rows of cannons waited below for her word as the Netherworld's hell-penguins struggled to keep up with her crazy demands of firing every few minutes. Sometimes she would violently take a Prinny and shove it into a new cannonball hole that had appeared to stop the water.

Dressed in what could never pass for proper pirate attire, Lash raised her cutlass, as she held on to the nearby rope, pointing her sword at the other ship before lowering it.

"Fire!"

Another row of cannonballs flew into the sky, accompanied with a prinny or two into the water to attack the ship below. Most of it was falling short of her target's ship, but causing large splashes of water to get sent to the other side. Lash was taunting him, really. The Wunderkind had never done a traditional ship battle, but her crew of Prinnies we getting ordered around like no one's business as she probably abused fake pirate words that would make Drake get angry with her.

"Arrr! Don't want t' give up yet? Next time I won't miss and you're ship will sinking into t' ocean! I'll be releasing my secret weapon!"

Terrible abuse.

His voice. He knew the creed and she could understand him, even without her ring. There was no way either Overlord could have known that and tricked her that way.

"I-I thought...," she stammered, unsure how to begin. "There was this...visitation day when they released a lot of people...no one showed up for me...I just thought...it's been so long since I woke up...I was...alone from our world..."

Not my world. Their world. It felt so strange to say that.

"I decided...not to show up for the first time since my own poddrop. How...ironic." she just kept talking, words coming out of her mouth. "I uh..." So many complications that were to come. "...it's nice to see you again...Hawke." She had trouble looking at him, still biting her tongue and she looked at the sand instead, clenching her fists, fumbling with the ring and putting it back on.

And then she turned to the youngest Overlord. Somehow having her here wasn't quite right.

"Pram. Get out. Now."

Mmm the sense of being a step higher than the opponent. Now she didn't have to keep watch. Much.

"What, not letting me stay to watch your tear-filled, joyful reunion?" Pram gave a scoff before waving it off. "Whatever. I'll be outside if you need me."

Not that the girl would, probably. She stuck her tongue out and left.

The Overlord crossed his arms, still standing (with perfect balance) on that log. He was trying to look badass, and mostly he did, but there was just a hint of pouting at the corner of his blank eyes and the slightly slouch to his posture.

"We were in the middle of something, damn it," he grumbled to himself. A Prinny floated by; he kicked it off into the stratosphere. Still, some part of him kept the Overlord from stomping on over and interfering.

Even if, from his perspective, he'd last seen his inferior officer mere hours ago, it seemed like an eternity. Somehow none of it seemed real.

The pirate costumes weren't really helping.

They'd told him this "Stacy" had released certain crew members--but only for a day--and that Lash had all but given up on ever seeing anyone from their world again. And now he was here but he wasn't even sure if he was supposed to be.

"I should be dead." He didn't quite know what the rings had to do with anything, but he mirrored Lash's movements and slipped it back on anyway. "Am I?"

Hey at least Lash had changed out of hers for now, okay.

"You're not dead," she affirmed, still unsure how to react, although for a minute she did poke at his arm to make sure he was real, despite the fact they were in the sensoriums. "In fact, the reason why you're here is that Stacy saved you. Well...saved all of us. You can ask to see the last minutes before your death if you want. I saw mine a while ago. The idea is that we're supposed to save the multiverse from the Ohm. I'm sure she told you all of that when you woke up. But you're not dead. Trust me. I've seen people die in my time here. Not long ago Superman died saving all of us actually."

She coughed again, scratching the back of her neck.

"I-it is nice to see you tho, Hawke." She looked down. "Oh right. No shoes. No wonder you looked shorter. Not that you aren't tall but..."

Awkward.

"A-anyway...I bet the last hour has been really confusing." Lash looked about as confused as him right now. "I should introduce you to Overlord Zetta." She looked over to were Zetta was standing. "We were, uh, distracting ourselves with pirates...not the fat, stupid kind like Drake, this was much more fun and--" slipping off tangent again. "He's really powerful! Like the type that could squash Sturm and Von Bolt together flat like pancakes if he snapped his fingers! He comes from a Netherworld where he rules everything and it's a pretty cool place, I saw it in the sensoriums, and...that's another long story. I've got a lot of stories to tell you don't I."

Lash began to scratching her neck again, never really having introduced people before. It's not like Black Hole did the whole handshaking thing either. So instead she just stood there wondering what to do next for a few more seconds before speaking.

"Uhhh...I guess Badass Overlord Zetta, Commanding Officer Hawke, Commanding Officer Hawke, Badass Overlord Zetta?"

That's how it went, right?

Zetta, well aware of his cue, stalked over to the two (across the water, which he normally couldn't do, but hey, sensorium). He drew himself up to his full height, hair streaming fire behind him, mana power swirling around his ankles.

"I've heard a lot," he said, with a wide and smug sneer. Look out, Lash, Zetta's bein' a jerk!

~~Pram rolled her eyes from where she stood outside and said, "Show off."~~

"Confusing is an understatement," He replied cooly, tugging absently on his plantsuit. The pulsing clothes were something he was definitely going to have to get used to. Still, it was nice to know he wasn't dead, though Hawke wasn't entirely sure if he could believe it yet. Perhaps, in time. There was a lot he needed to see, and hear about, and ask her, but it could wait a moment.

When Zetta stepped forward, Hawke regarded the man with no small amount of suspicion.

"You must be the Overbook."

He didn't look like a book.

"...You've been listening to Pram, haven't you," Zetta said with just a hint of exasperation. "Yeah, I'm a book at the moment, and I'm still the strongest being in the cosmos, so who gives a crap?"

"She was...gracious enough to give me the information I sought."

'Gracious' was probably putting it a little nicely.

"I assume in the Sensoriums you can take on whatever form you'd like."

It would explain the whole not-a-book-but-actually-a-book thing, anyway.

Yeaaah, Pram didn't do anything 'graciously'. Not that her motivation wasn't perfectly clear here.

"Exactly," Zetta said.

"And how long have you..."

He trailed off, waving a hand between Zetta and Lash, somehow unable to ask how long they'd known each other.

"Who knows around here? Time doesn't make any damn sense," he grumbled. "I mean, it might have been months or a year... probably not that long though. You'll totally lose track after a week or so!"

"Yeah..." Lash parroted in. "Did you get you watch back in your locker? If you did, you might notice it just keeps spinning around and not being useful at all. The bleed messes up all concepts of time."

"Yes." And he was very glad to have his watch, but not very happy to find that it was nonfunctional. "Look."

His watch, man. That was so unfair.

"Anyway. Long enough," Zetta said, cheerfully reaching out to sling an arm around Lash. Maybe just a little possessive there.

Lash's reaction was to casually ~~kick Zetta again~~ give him a confused look as to what he was doing right now that she was reuniting with Hawke. She looked back at her Commander again and gave a tiny shrug as a sort of 'I don't know' or more like 'I'm pretending I don't know.'

"I could show you around the entire ship, if you like."

Okay obviously there was something going on between these two, something that Hawke did not quite understand but HE KNEW HE DIDN'T LIKE IT.

Thankfully, Lash was kind enough to provide a change of subject.

"Yes. I would like you to show me around the ship."

What the --

Is that how you want to play it, Lash?!

Zetta smirked. "You got here just in time, then. Lash was about to lose that fight something fierce."

Lash had no idea what she was doing anymore, but she looked at Zetta, pouting.

"Nuh-Uh! No way. I was totally winning!" Now that there was much to check on anymore, considering she was back in her clothing. "Once I'm done showing Hawke the place, I'm coming back here to finish the job too!" This was the strangest thing she'd said all day. The fact Hawke was here was making her rather dizzy, admittedly.

However, it was a promise that she'd come back, if anything.

"Unless you wanna come too." Wait that almost sounded like she almost cared but that was probably just going to make the situation worse. "There's a lot to cover."

Hawke had no doubt that Lash could trounce this so-called "Overbook" in a game of war any day, and therefore didn't think much of her calling off the match. With a place like the Sensoriums, there would certainly be other matches.

He did not, however, look particularly pleased at the prospect of Zetta coming along.

"Then we'd better get a move on."

Hawke didn't know he'd already beat her twice in serious battles. This nonsense was just ~~foreplay~~ fun and games!

Though he simply shrugged. "Whatever. Go have fun."

With that much to say, he stalked back onto the water, intent on kicking Lash's ship until it sank.

Lash watched him for a second, unsure if she should stop him but realizing that it would probably be much better to go with Hawke for now. He better not be trying to sink her ship.

"I'll be back later," she called out, not sure if Zetta was listening or not. The wunderkind turned to Hawke and let him walk out first, their voices getting harder to hear as they walked. "There's a lot of ground to cover. I guess I should show you around the city fi--" And then they were gone.
