Jack's skulking around the art hall. He's figured out that not a lot of people come in here, so it makes a great place to get away from it all, relax, and fiddle around with his omnicom. He's just told Leon where he is and expects him to show up any moment now, and he has a feeling he's not going to like how this ends.

Well, he didn't have to wait long. A few moments later, Leon was in the art hall and searched around until he found who he was looking for.

"Mr. Spicer."

Jack has a couple of options on how to respond here. After a split second's debate, he says, "Mr. Kennedy."

"This won't take long." There really wasn't too much to discuss.

"I understand that you were the one who hacked into Sam's omnicomm?"

"Yes." His grip on his own tightens a little bit. "I caught him plotting a raid on the med bay or something. Why?"

"Yes, you did, and there's quite a bit of fallout from that. For the moment, I just need to examine yours for a moment."

"What for?" Jack's hesitant to hand it over. It's like asking a kid for their cell phone. This is his LIFE here!

"The security team has opened an investigation in what you found. As a follow up, I need to examine your omnicomm."

No good deed goes unpunished, Jack.

"How long are you going to take it for?" he asks.

[governmentninja]

"Not for long. You'll have it back as soon as I'm finished with it."

"But how long will that take?" he asks, stubbornly. "No vague "not long" here, are we talking days? Weeks? I need to know."

That just got an eyebrow raise. "There have been some serious charges leveled against Sam because of what you found. I need to find out whether or not this is legit." Which, as far as Leon was concerned, was more important than whether or not Jack was inconvenienced. "I can't say how long I'll need to hold on to it; all I can say is that I'll get it back to you as soon I can."

"Well, okay." Jack sighs heavily, and hands it over. "Just don't mess any of my stuff up, I've got a lot of projects on that."

Inside he's panicking though. Seriously. What is he going to DO with himself?!

"Thank you." Leon tucked Jack's omnicomm safely away. But he had another question before this was done.

"Out of curiosity, why did you hack Sam's omnicomm to begin with?"

"Well..." Think carefully here, Jack.

"He put up security on it. I mean, suspicious right? It was like he was asking for somebody to get nosy and poke it. Y'know what I'm saying?"

He thinks "I couldn't resist, it was a CHALLENGE!" would probably not be a good answer.

No, that would not be a good answer at all. Though the one he gave him was only marginally less worse.

"So you hacked it because you saw a fence and wanted to see if you could climb it?"

"Ummmmm..."

Jack tries to think of the least incriminating way to go about this. "I just told you it was suspicious."

Just dig yourself in deeper, Jack. "So no one would want privacy unless they had something to hide. Is that what you're saying?"

"I should just shut up right now, huh?"

"You should." Leon turned to leave, then paused. "By the way, it be a while before you get your omnicomm back."

Jack just groans.

"FINE."
