A lord Governor and a young Brass dragon [Open]
Not long after Stacy's announcement and the reunion with one of his adopted daughters, the young brass dragon Smoke, Bight had made his way to the transportation tubes, young and excited dragon in tow to begin the tour of the ship he had spent months on already. After a short explanation of how the transportation tubes worked he had stepped on in. The pair of them whisked up through the tubes up to the only accessable level above the living quarters, the Hanger on Smoke's request.
It wasn't long before Bight stepped out of the transport tube, no doubt followed by the young dragon after her first trip through Stacy's onboard transportation system. The older dragon waiting only a moment to give Smoke time to recover before leading her down the short passage that soon opened out into the massive cavern that was the Hanger bay, the bay was easily miles long and filled with near any vehicle one could concieve of, from what looked like horses with wheels in place of their hind and fore leg motor bikes he'd been told, to much larger four winged flying vehicles that made up one of the squadrons of Starfighter command, to the massive space faring vessel that took up a good portion of one end of the hanger bay, the flagship of Starfighter command, the Macross Quarter, a vessel over ten times as long as Crucible himself.
"Welcome Smoke, to the Hanger," He commented with his usual confident demeanor.
It was likely that the pair would not stay too long in the hanger bay itself, after all he had little doubt that Smoke would be eager to see any spot onboard ship, whether the City, Hydroponics or even wander the corridors themselves.
((OOC: Feel free to run into Bight and Smoke in the Hanger, or anywhere onboard ship, as I've no doubt they'd go anywhere with the curiousity of a young dragon along with him! Just be sure to put the location of where the character would be running into them in the title!))

Smoke wondered if Crucible was allowed to fly in this grandiose ship. He could assume his true form, she knew, but whether he could really fly, she didn't know. Smoke would like better to be next to him in his true form. Living in a city that was mostly human, with a human adopted mother and many humans around, she loved Crucible not just because he cared for her, but because he was a dragon, and an adult one. For little dragons, it was important to be next to the adults of their kind. But Smoke supposed this was neither time nor place.
After all, there were these vehicles here to look at.
Smoke sat on her haunches, jumped up and started flying over the hanger. There was a lot of space for a small dragon like her to fly, and these things were seen the best from the air. She flied quickly in all directions, surveying the technique. In fact, she didn't understand anything in all this, but it was just a great sight, so many things new, strange and unimaginable.
She found a vehicle with seats that could accomodate her - an open streamlined construction painted blue and majenta, with rather strangely curved seats. Presumably, these seats were for some aliens, for they weren't comfortable for humans, and Smoke thought that it would be cool to see these aliens. But for a dragon the seats were quite all right. The vehicle didn't have wheels, just something like a small undercarriage, and long horisontal apertures in its sides. There was a strange device in front of the centre front seat. Smoke landed on the seat and touched the device with her claw. Nothing changed.
- I wonder how those who use this vehicle look, - she said. Then turned to Lord Bight who was evidently waiting for her to be able to ask any questions: - Why aren't these vehicles used? If people here use this transportation tubes, what are these machines for at all? And where are their owners? - She turned her head but couldn't see anyone, at least so far.

Were it down in the city and he sure of the absence he could indeed fly in his true form, the shear space of the city allowed that much. If the chance presented itself he likely would indeed fly with her down in the city on this one day together until such a time as she was properly released.
Giving a nod to her as she crouched back, he crossed his arms and set himself to watch her as she took off and flew about above the vast number of vehicles. Even as he watched he couldn't help but notice that she was the slightest bit larger than last he had saw her another case of temporal disparity between when he'd been taken and when she had perhaps?
Even as she seemed to find a vehicle of interest Bight was already making his way over to her, threading his way amongst the vehicles to stand by it, "That is hard to say for sure, not one likely found on Krynn I would assume at the very least," He replied before going on to answer her other questions, "Many of these vehicles are indeed used, though not onboard ship, but when the ship arrives at a new world, many of these are for transportation, and others for combat purposes, there owners are likely back amongst the many people gathered in the Observation deck earlier or still sleeping in the pods below,"
no subject
"Does this ship really sometimes arrive at some new worlds???" she asked. Why, oh why she couldn't stay and see these new worlds? It wasn't fair - to beckon her with a promise of such wonders and when return back, either to some 'pods' that she didn't want to return to. or to her own world! But there still was some time and with it, some hope. "Maybe today it will arrive at a new world too? Have YOU been to any other worlds? Indeed, not just in these illusion rooms, but bodily? Have you done anything there? What do they look like? Oh, please tell me!"
There weren't any machine guns on Krynn (though on the ship there definitely were), but the ability of a brass dragon child to bombard others with questions was definitely a prototype. She even jumped up again, forgetting that she was on a seat, and the vehicle slightly reeled.

"The first of which was a mechanical world, a semblance of a world like our own only in brass and clockwork, it was there many of the crew including myself spoke to the time Dragons, dragons unlike you and I, they too were of clockwork and metal," He continued after a few moments recalling his own encounter with the Time dragons, those that were even more condescending and arrogant than any dragon of Krynn.
"The second was the world of Xaxing, an entire world of trading and markets, nothing of great event other than Shore leave for those crew who wished it, though I would imagine from my time there that if one can sell something it could be found there, no matter what it was," He commented with a soft chuckle and a shake of his head before his expression turned somewhat more grim.
"The third and most recent was Lirath, it was there that we took the fight to the race known as the Ohm, a race set on destroying worlds, we emerged victorious, but not without loss,"

"They weren't on the ship to begin with no, we talked on a number of topics, however the primary topic at hand at the time was the destruction of a cursed clock, one that caused the individual timelines of crew members that heard its chime. Once they had been convinced they came aboard to destroy the clock and indeed, the seem to individually have great control over time,"
"I would imagine you would have, the ship itself provides a measure of currency suitable to whatever world the ship has stopped by in case of such occasions, indeed I did pick up a thing or two from that planet," He commented with a wry grin before continuing on to the next question, "As to food, nothing all too appetizing, the ship itself provides a healthy goop, though I have heard many use the sensoriums, the illusion rooms to make it taste however they should wish,"
Bight let out a long breath before shaking his head, "Of that we do not know, and one victory will be far from enough to defeat such a tenacious foe,"

She sighed.
"Please forgive me, Lord Bight, I shouldn't have asked so many questions at once. You've told us that there can be too much curiosity, I should remember that," Smoke said. She could be a very well-behaving girl, with Crucible's teachings - sometimes rather harsh, but always fair. The dragonlet nestled up to her foster father. "I want us all to be in the Sanction Vale - you, Lady Linsha, and all us the eight. A warm day, and us flying over the vale, with Lady Linsha on your back," she said, not thinking and not knowing how painful this notion could be for him. She was a child, she hadn't learned yet to take others' feelings into account.

"But for now, perhaps a more familiar surrounds would do you well," he commented after a moment his expression looking up once more.

At last! This was something from their home - Crucible in his authoritative position. Smoke didn't understand that the fact that Crucible here was not in charge was the most disappointing for her - she got used to him having everything around under his command, including even the great volcanoes. She was accustomed to the fact that Crucible could everything, that everyone looked at him for guidance, and here he was just one of many and couldn't even assure her staying with him. She couldn't formulate it yet, but she felt it. Crucible's words "I will make sure" made her feel better. That was the Crucible she knew. She didn't know anything about the Ohm and their power and why she was here at all, but she was sure the great bronze dragon would fix everything, and they would fly together over the Sanction Vale again.
"More familiar? Where is that?" She would like to go anywhere with him, but the ship was strange, it was difficult to imagine something "more familiar" here. He had mentioned his palace, but it would be without Lady Linsha and her siblings... just an empty place. She didn't want to go there, but she would agree just to be a good girl.

When he suggested the something familiar he saw and sensed her wish not to go to his palace, her point quite valid, without all who lived in it apart from he it was a place void of life, but a shell of its former station as home to eight brass dragons a Lord Governor and his wife. "We shall go to the city then, there are sights there that are of at least Krynnish architecture, and besides I could stretch my wings a bit," He stated in his usual confident attitude, not so much asking as telling her that's where they were going.
Stepping away from the vehicle she'd been been perched on he gave an imperious wave of an arm, "Come now, young one," Walking in long easy strides to weave his way easily through the maze of vehicles and back toward the Transport tubes, he knew she could easily keep up, only stopping once they'd reached the entrance to the tube.
A slightly longer trip through the transportation tubes later and they would find themselves stepping out of the spire that ran floor to the fake sky above the vast city, buildings of all designs and purposes filled the streets before them, "Welcome to the City," He commented with a smile as he walked out and down toward a pair of metal tracks that had been set up as well as a small waiting platform for the train that had been set up, "The train shall take us where we need to go,"
Looking down to her at that point he decided to raise the question that had been on his mind since he had noticed the difference in age of young Smoke, "Tell me, Smoke, what has happened in Sanction since the misadventure of Eight, yourself and your hatchmates beneath Mount Thunderhorn," For he it had been not the night before he had woken from the pods.

"We could fly together there? Great!" she said, flying up and following Lord Bight to the entrance to the tubes.
She surveyed the general overview of the city when they arrived. It looked beautiful to her, with all these strange outlines of the alien cities. She didn't know the word 'eclectic' yet. His question surprised her.
"Don't you know? But you've been there, all the time!"
no subject
"We could indeed, and that we shall when the opportunity arises," He replied even as she had followed him through to the entrance.
"Quite a sight it is," He commented at her view of the city even as he shook his head in response to her surprised response, "This ship has a habit of taking individuals from different points in time," He commented as he looked over her with careful scrutiny, "It has been near a year since that incident for you or there about has it not? I arrived aboard this ship not a day after that particular incident,"
no subject
"Well, Lady Linsha recovered soon after that," Smoke assumed that for Lord Bight that would be the most welcome piece of news. "Eight has assumed his own name - he's Spiracle now. That didn't add him any reason, though - he still makes a lot of trouble and gets in every one that is made by anyone else. Lady Goldi married Lord Adamantor, and now she's going to have her own eggs. I thought it would be cool to play with gold hatchlings, but Lady Goldi says that her eggs will hatch when we're adults already." Goldi Darwing, the former agent of Iyesta, was something of a minister of dragons in Crucible's government, and Lord Adamantor was a young golden dragon who had had his eye on the female for quite some time. "Another bronze arrived with his family, wanted to stay for a bit, but he didn't like it in Sanction and left. You... I mean, Crucible almost fought him." This was an unpleasant story about a bronze dragon from Dragon Isles who adhered to traditional ways of dragons and wanted to fight Crucible for the territry of Sanction Vale, and left only when understood that there were more than 100 dragons in Sanction who would simply wipe him out. Smoke rebuked herself for the slip of her tongue and looked around, but no one was near. "Lord Kang from Teyr arrived with his Lady Fonrar - it was called 'ne-go-ti-a-tions'," she pronounced carefully."Was a lot of noise about draconian ruler arriving in Sanction, but Lady Fonrar wears such beautiful dresses! Then that strange dragon arrived, Lord Morlex, the black that wasn't a black. I believe he's a ruler of some moors to the east of Sanction. He decided not to assume his true form while in our vale and went under his human guise, and a lot of human ladies thought he was a human noble and liked him. Then there was something of a fight with Dark Knights, but they were quickly rooted by you, Lord Kang and Lord Morlex together. What else? Oh, there was our fifth birthday! It was fabulous, thank you and Lady Linsha for it! A lot of magic, music, beautiful lights, wonderful illusions, singing and dancing and playing in the palace, and we got the most wonderful presents in the world! I got my very own dog, Redspot! Because Lady Linsha said it was our first 'jubilee' and we should remember it well. Well..." Smoke remembered again that speaking too much was pleasant for a brass but sometimes hard for others and looked at Lord Bight, seeking his approval.

Had he been anyone else he may have gotten lost in the continuous stream of information and rapid fire answers that the young brass gave, as it was though he ran through each bit of information in his mind and stored each away, not trying to interrupt during the volley of information, to try and interrupt would be futile in most cases.
Even as she stopped he dipped his head in approval as he ran over the information on what sounded to be quite the eventful year, disseminating what likely had happened and translating from the viewpoint of the young brass dragonlet, "Quite the eventful year indeed it would seem," He smiled down to her at that, from what she had said, it would sound like negotiations were continuing well with Teyr, the mention of Morlex drew his interest, he had heard rumors of the change in the Black dragon Overlord through the years, that he would come to Sanction he took particular interest in, had he formed an alliance with the 'redeemed' black dragon, an interesting thought.
"I am glad that you and your siblings birthday went quite well then, you are most welcome in advance," He commented with a smile down to the young dragonlet, patting a hand on her shoulder, even as he looked up at the sound of the approaching train, which soon rolled up to the station, "Hop on and it shall take us to our next destination,"

The train seemed to be absolutely empty. Smoke remembered something and felt a spurt of curiosity. She looked around, but there was no one around. Still, she whispered very softly: "Lord Bight, may I ask why you don't want people to know that Crucible and you are the same?" She simply had no idea why a powerful dragon would do such a thing. Human form was all right, and rather comfortable for some tasks - for example, one could easily hold a pensil in human hands, but for dragon claws it was difficult. But being a dragon, the most wonderful creature in the world, why pretend to be someone else?

"I had to be sure of the situation on board, after all it is simpler to get information when one doesn't know of the true extent of my power, they shall know in time however," He explained calmly as he watched the buildings around them roll past before looking back down to Smoke, "They will know my identity when the time is right,"

Watching the buildings as they trailed past, as the train worked along its path, stopping first at the Grand central station from another world before continuing on to through another few stops until it came to the edge of what was known as Escherville, "This is our stop, not such a walk from here," He commented with a smile to his young charge, stepping off the train, waiting but a moment for her before beginning to walk down the street even as the train pulled away and continued its route right on through the strange and rather vast building.
After a short walk they came to the last bend in the river where it continued on to pour down into Escherville, looking around to make sure no one else was around. Few would be around this area, but nevertheless he had to be sure. A bright light shone from his form as he shook off his human form and took on his true form as Crucible. "A good chance to stretch our wings I'd say, the palace is not far, I shall show you where it is but we shall not linger there."

The small brown brass-teinted wings moved next to bronze ones, the great space over the city was revealing itself, as well as the grandiose city itself. The air whistled around Smoke, and with every batting of her wings the new portions of this most fantastic city were revealed. She was happy to discover this new space while flying, happy to move, to dance on the wings. She was in her element, she was flying, she was free. She was a dragon.
She quickly looked at Crucible, then down on the city roofs.
"Wow it's more than Sanction!" she shouted. "And these people down there, do they see us? They definitely do! Yahooo!"
People in the city streets were indeed looking up, marveling at the sight of the great bronze dragon and a small brownish dragonlet flying over their heads.

Once they leveled out, Crucible tilted his head to look back to her as she shouted, glancing down to those who she was referring to, "It is a vast city indeed, and indeed they do little one," He commented, hardly needing to raise his voice over the wind with his sheer size.
With but a slight tilt of his wings he drew a slow arch of a turn to bring the first few bends of the river that trailed out into the distance, "The river from what I am told is known as the Kohaku river, it is no ocean but it suffices for a relaxing dip, and there young Smoke is the Palace,"

(Feel free to name any city buildings :-) They all are interesting for Smoke)

(OOC: Shall have him mention any of the specific buildings when they fly over them, can't think of those that match that precisely in the time I've got here.)

Then the little dragon felt a bit tired. She was thirsty and starting to feel hungry.
"Let's go to the river", she said. "I want to have a bit of water to drink." Smoke began to move lower.

Arching his flight path down toward the river, locating a suitable place to land he soon came into land with a few powerful back beats of his large wings before folding his wings in to give the much smaller dragon room to land.

Distressed, she turned to Crucible.
"You said, for a day", she said ruefully.

"Worry not, little one, the sun rises and sets to a far faster schedule than normal, it is a full normal day for which you are here,"

Without waiting he strode off toward in the direction indicated, knowing that the young dragon could easily keep up as they moved to the stop even as one of the automated trains rolled on up, stepping on board and looking back to make sure Smoke got on as well.

...But the tavern... people are so small and fragile, they would possibly really be scared of such a great dragon as Crucible was... In Sanction, they weren't afraid. But it wasn't Sanction, here people didn't know Crucible wouldn't eat them.
"I hope they won't be scared of me, over there in the tavern," she said, jumping into the train after Lord Bight. "I'm small so far."
To thing it over, Crucible in his true form would simply not fit into a tavern intended for humans!
Smoke curled on one of the train benches and prepared to enjoy the journey to the tavern.

Taking a seat on the train bench opposite Smoke even as the train pulled out of the station. The journey this time was longer than their first trip on the train, going around the loop that was train tracks, passing many different buildings in the artificial night of the City, before too long though the train had pulled to a stop not a short walk from their destination.
"Here we are," He commented even as he pushed himself up off the bench, straightening his robes unconsciously before stepping off the train and striding his way across toward the Tavern door, glancing up to the false dragon on the roof as he had the times he had visited the tavern previously. Gathering his thoughts, curious if Kang himself had had anyone of his own show up from Visitation day, wondering if the Draconian was even in.
Nevertheless, with no sign of outward hesitation in the least, after all he had to keep up a strong impression for the dragonlet following him as he pushed open the doors to the Tavern.
