Once everyone had had time to read her announcement, Starfire started preparing for the day. There were signs to hang, streamers to wave, and plenty of people to greet with her usual affection. Language would not be a barrier, so the signs simply consisted of drawings of two happy blobs coming together and embracing each other. Arrows below the pictures pointed any visitors to the right place in the city's park, where Starfire's cheerful calls could be heard. She floated above the crowd, that wide smile ever-present on her face.

"I welcome you all to our offering of friendship! Please join us!" She was not going to give up easily, no. "You do not need to embrace us or each other to participate today. Your kind words of support and open ears are more than enough, but I would like you to open your arms if you are able. Offer your affection to your friends and extend your kindness to new ones!"

That said, she pointed to the arrangement of signs attached to several big trees. One had a rather deformed picture of a smiling Starfire in front of it, and others were left blank for volunteers to draw their own pictures. Those wishing to receive hugs or friendship would walk through the appropriate tree to stand behind.

It was a simple setup, but one that she hoped would be effective. Love for everyone!

Oh she was offering her hand. Wakka shook it vigorously.

"Ya, uh, I don't really know where I am right now," he explained. "Where is this place?"

Starfire kept up with his hand-pumping, ever happy to help!

"This is the city park! We are on the level of the ship known as the City. It contains ruins and buildings from all of our worlds, as well as many others. This park may have come from a world as well."

Man, this little girl was good at shaking hands. Wakka backed off, however, and finally stopped shaking.

"Oh, alright. Ruins, huh? Why's it called the City? Don't cities usually have names?"

Wakka, you need to stop being an ignorant hick who doesn't know anything.

"I believe it has been left to us to name it," Starfire thought, her chin in her hand. "We have never decided on one, but we could find a name!"

Somehow. Knowing this crew, it would probably end up being named Citytownvillage or something similar.

"Oh," said Wakka. "Yeah, I guess you could. Have to find somethin' with a good meanin', ya. Never had to name nothin' before."

Burgvillepolisborough.

"Something we could all understand, and...kind. We already have too much sorrow among us," Starfire decided. "Something beautiful..."

Beautitopia? Maybe that was too fluffy. She shook her head, smiling at him.

"Maybe we can ask the others for names! I am very sure that we will be able to find something. One of the buildings might give us an idea."

"Yeah well, I'm from a place called Besaid. So that's the most beautiful name I can think of for a place, ya," Wakka replied.

"Oh yeah, you got a name? I'm Wakka."

Starfire had to smile at that name. "It is a wonderful name. I am from a planet called Tamaran, but...I would not name a city that way. Any of our names would be difficult to pronounce. For example, I am Koriand'r, but you may call me Starfire!"

She seemed so pleased that she might attack him with cheer, but she settled for smiling widely at him. Wakka was a funny name, and she had to hide a giggle, but she liked it.

Oh right, planets. This place.

"I guess my planet's named Spira. Forgot about sayin' that part. Starfire your nickname or somethin'?"

Cheer, dear Starfire, is Tidus's move.

"Spira," Starfire repeated, a dreamy little smile on her face. It was a lovely name, though she did not know the world behind it.

"Starfire is a translation of my name. You may address me either way, I do not mind."

"Oh, alright. Starfire's a nice name, and I know what it means." Wakka smiled his dopy smile.

Like anyone knows what Wakka means.

It's Ainu for 'water.'

"Then we have an understanding," Starfire was happy to report, saluting at him. She wanted to do more, but there was a time and a place.

"Can I assist you in locating anything?"

"Yeah, you seen a red ball about this size," and here, dear reader, Wakka held his hands out to the size of a blitzball, "that's all covered in blades? I'm lookin' for it, ya."

Starfire traced a finger in the air to imagine the shape of it. It sounded like a wonderful ball! She would like to see it very much, but nothing like it had appeared to her before.

"I am sorry, but I have not. I would have liked it very much, but I can search for it!"

It is a wonderful ball. The most wonderful ball.

"It's my World Champion blitzball. S'an antique, ya. Lord Ohalland owned it 500 years ago. I had it with me when I got caught up to this place. I just gotta find that thing. That guy with the detective lost and found thing is lookin' for me, but if you find it first I ain't gonna complain."

Starfire nodded, completing her mental picture of the ball. "I will be very careful if I find it, yes. Could it have been left in a high place?"

If so, she could probably find it! She was good at that.

"I dunno, maybe," said Wakka, scratching his head. "I guess it coulda got stuck someplace."
