downtime. honest. [open]
In light of his injuries, Tim hadn't been doing as much work as he honestly would have liked to-- he was supposed to be taking it easy while he finished healing, and thus had spent more time around as himself, as opposed to as Red Robin.
Of course, he still had a lot of on his mind. Even without that taken into consideration, he wasn't a fan of idling. He'd spent a fair amount of time as 'Tim', at least, but beyond that-- well, if his work was being limited (though he could work on his own private things, as well), at least he still had training. He considered it physical therapy.
He had to be careful of course-- he was already probably moving himself too much-- but exercising was still important, after all. Even if it was lighter than he would normally allow himself. At least he was being sensible about it.
((ooc: Because of his injuries, Tim Drake is going to be around more than usual! While Red Robin is still in his usual haunts-- working with Engineering, Programming, Neuropathy, Security...--and with a decent amount of training mixed in. So feel free to run into him anywhere, as either, though those are the most likely places. c: ))

He watched her a little cautiously, but he nodded to that, deciding to play it cool. "Understandable," he replied. "It's kind of... disheartening to see old memories trashed like this." He shrugged, then added, "Not much to do about that though."
((ooc: out of pure curiosity! How much does she know about him? :o ))

"Yeah well, you just tell yourself its not the REAL place or whatever, but then you think 'what the hell IS real anymore,' you know? So you just sorta chase pieces of it, even in all this rubble. And now, I guess, I'm trying to make something out of it."
She shrugged. It was oddly introspective, for her anyway.
"But whatever. You look kinda banged up. What are you doing?"
[I'd say she'd know before Jason Todd came back, so she doesn't know about Red Robin yet. She could guess though).

"Considering the whole 'universe gone' thing, and 'multiverses' and all that other stuff sprung on us..." he frowned, "Well, we don't even know if it's yours, mine, or someone else's completely, right?"
It was kind of a distraction from the question about his health, idling and talking about that instead. Finally, though, he did answer, playing up the persona. "It's not that bad. I didn't get into anything serious... I guess I'm just trying to relax a little while it heals up." He shrugged, then asked, "What about you? You're doing all right?"
((ooc: Okay! Was just curious. (: Poor Tim wouldn't be happy with it, but. :P ))

She shrugged. "Well, if you say so. You look like it could have been pretty bad, whatever. but relaxing is always good, if you need it. Me? I do all right. Minor cuts, some stupid random shots, nothing big. Im lucky: I'm much faster than i ever was on Earth, you know?"
no subject
"That's good then," he said, nodding. "That you're not doing too bad. Speed has its advantages, I guess."
He shook his head, then offered a sheepish, "I'm Tim, by the way."
no subject
"Well speed is just one of the things I'm getting good at: with the Ohm as a threat, threre's always more anybody can be doing, you know? I'm a little kid, but at least I can learn the basics, in case I need to help. Maybe I can help people load their weapons, or assist them in battle."
It was such a steaming load of shit, of course, that she would be doing anything like that, but she never knew hwo many people she could trust with knowing who Mindy Macready really was.
"I'm Mindy," she said. "So what kind of world do you come from?"

He offered a quiet kind of laugh at that question, before he replied, "That's kind of a hard question to answer. I mean, it was 'normal' for me, but since everything's different..." He frowned, then explained, "I guess there wasn't anything that spectacular about it, really. Normal 'earth' kind of stuff, you know?" His expression grew somewhat apologetic, then he asked, "I take it you're more or less the same then?" Partially testing her there.

A joke, and not a great one, but it at least might throw someone off the track. "So not so normal by people who are considered civilians, am I right?" She didn't have to be Hit Girl to show she was observant. "But normal by the standards of someone who's a little extraordinary, right? As for me, I'm a cop's little girl. You could say my upbringing wasn't all that normal either."

It was just a shame that the same logic applied to him, if not quite as heavily. "Well, I guess weird stuff happened sometimes, too. It just seems like nothing, compared to most of the things I've heard on board here." He laughed weakly, then followed up on hers, "I guess that dose give you kind of a different edge, yeah. I imagine it was pretty different." But still, it didn't seem like enough basis to bring someone on board, without more.
((ooc: sorry this tag is kind of derp ugh))

Not to mention probably lied to and messed with on a constant basis, Mindy thought additionally, but kept that to herself. "From what I've heard, there've been plenty of different kind of troubles on the ship, enough that it keeps people on their toes. Me, I dunno why I'm here, unless I'm supposed to analyze things and come up with plans, like Penny from Inspector gadget?"
She sure looked the part.

He relaxed a little, though, at that, and nodded. "Hey, can't knock that," he said. He was still trying to figure her out, though. "I feel a little out of place sometimes myself. But if I had to venture a guess it'd be business/diplomatic skills for me." And the superhero business but that was a digression.
no subject
Yup, play up the cop's daughter thing. It's not like it was even a lie, right? She was just specifically not getting into what a cop's daughter could actually DO.
"Oh c'mon, that's BORING," she declared. Robin, doing business and diplomacy? Man, he was half lying just as much as her! "You gotta have some other stuff up your sleeve, like, firepowers or something! Maybe you're a latent mutant!"
no subject
Of course, he did manage a laugh at her declaration of his civilian life being 'boring,' and her ideas for what else he could have going on in his life. "No, no superpowers to speak of, sorry," he said, smiling a bit. "Not that I can say if there's anything latent, but pretty sure I'm just a regular human."
no subject
She could do it too, Robin. "Well, you don't know. You could be a mutant or something. Maybe I could be too! Though I hope I'm not, like, Jubilee, or that lame version of Rogue from the movie..."
Oops?

Tim rose any eyebrow at that, watching her closely. Something about those names was familiar-- like he'd encountered them before. But she was clearly talking about something fictional from her world. Right? Anything else was coincidence. "I'm afraid I'm not familiar with them," he admitted.
((ooc: sorry for the huge delay and the fail of this tag. :c ))

And she had to be careful not to give Hit Girl away either.
"Eh, it doesn't matter: there are still plenty of ways to make yourself useful without having to be super powered. We are on a living ship of meat: we have access to all this training, whether to fight or to operate stuff. Knowing me, I might be able to pilot a ship or something."
Ha! That would be the day! Of course, she did know how to drive a car and a tank, so that was a start.

Ah, truth sprinkled in with the lies. The best kind.

"I know I will. I won't ever just sit back and let the adults do everything. The kids here have just as much to lose as anyone else!"
Ha. When was the last time she considered herself one of the kids here?

Hints, Robin. She knows even YOU would see something like this coming. The clone planet and recovering the kidnapped was enough for that.

"There's too much conflict on the ship, from what I've seen. And you're right, the morality of it is certainly a big part of that. I think we're kind of in a precarious situation. You're right that it'd be a bit too easy to tip over the edge, one way or another. Unity is a big issue here."
