downtime. honest. [open]
In light of his injuries, Tim hadn't been doing as much work as he honestly would have liked to-- he was supposed to be taking it easy while he finished healing, and thus had spent more time around as himself, as opposed to as Red Robin.
Of course, he still had a lot of on his mind. Even without that taken into consideration, he wasn't a fan of idling. He'd spent a fair amount of time as 'Tim', at least, but beyond that-- well, if his work was being limited (though he could work on his own private things, as well), at least he still had training. He considered it physical therapy.
He had to be careful of course-- he was already probably moving himself too much-- but exercising was still important, after all. Even if it was lighter than he would normally allow himself. At least he was being sensible about it.
((ooc: Because of his injuries, Tim Drake is going to be around more than usual! While Red Robin is still in his usual haunts-- working with Engineering, Programming, Neuropathy, Security...--and with a decent amount of training mixed in. So feel free to run into him anywhere, as either, though those are the most likely places. c: ))

"All right then," he said, nodding, and shifting into a defensive stance. He'd dealt with metas before (sparring and real fights) and could hold his own better than most seemed to expect of him. He knew Zouichi was certainly more than capable, though-- and given Tim's injury... "Sounds like fun."

He came forward without hesitation, aiming a swift but light swing toward Tim's side. It would be more of a tag than an actual blow, even if it did hit; he considered this a game rather than a real match.

Even so, he'd also always made up for his smaller build with his speed and observation, as well. Zouichi may have been a lot more than the average thug (by a long shot), but Tim was still on edge and could still use it to his advantage. And of course, he could figure out that the other was going to hold back, anyway. Seeing the blow coming just in time for him to dodge backwards and bring his own weapon down to intercept, quickly, aiming to knock the offending weapon back.

He used the opportunity to step swiftly past the first blow, aiming a low kick at one of Tim's feet instead.

He dodged back quickly, sweeping his staff out to try and catch the offending leg.
((ooc: Feel free to assume a landed hit on Tim by the by o7))

Zouichi's kick ended up tapping the staff aside without touching Tim. He reversed direction, using his momentum to spin back around and aim a second kick at his opponent. This time he aimed it a little higher, at Tim's shin.
He'd sort of forgotten Tim was supposed to be taking it easy at this point, because obviously playing martial arts tag was taking it easy.

"So what, point for you then?" he asked, smirking plenty for being the one who just got hit. Without waiting for any kind of pause or reaction, he moved in withe his weapon again, aiming a swift, though light, hit for Zouichi's side.

The staff scraped briefly past his side before he deflected it with another blow from the baton. "Do you do this often?"
no subject
"Not this exactly, no," he said. "Not 'for fun' so much." Not that he wasn't taking this seriously, but the context and the levels they were at put it in a different light than anything he'd do otherwise. "And you? you make a habit of tag-with-weaponry?"
