trans_9 | A Housewarming Party for a Castle

Celestia's new home was a grand residence indeed: the citadel of Camelot, a place which featured heavily in the myths and legends of Earth. Not that Celestia was familiar with these myths, of course.

Guests were free to wonder around the castle at will, but Celestia had decided that today, the courtyard would be a lovely place for everypony to get together. There were a few tables set up, with the treats Hoshi and Applejack had so generously made, and Rarity's beautiful decorations. And later, Celestia planned to invite her guests to ride on the Ferris wheel that happened to be located just outside the castle.

The crewmembers had suffered a great loss recently, but she hoped that this would bring them some small amount of joy, and the comfort of friendship in this time.

[[ooc: Sorry this is a day late guys, uni ended up being much more hectic yesterday than I expected. Anyways, I've put up a subthread for Celestia greeting visitors and rides on the London Eye. Those that ICly helped out this party can also set up sub-threads for the food tables/games/whatever as well, if you guys want to. (Edit: The sub-thread for Hoshi & Applejack's nibbles is up here!)

But other than that, feel free to start your own threads and tag each other. People can also wonder around and explore the castle - it's the BBC Merlin version of Camelot, but only the citadel itself (as opposed to the whole city).]]

Her eyesbrows shot into her mane. "How did you...?" Rarity was surprised and astonished that the Princess knew. "I do not mean any disrespect to your family." She bowed down, a little embarrassed.

(OOC: Is this dragging too long? I can have Rarity leave to find AJ soon)

"Twilight often writes to me about all her friends, and what she has learned about friendship," Celestia said, before her expression turned amused. "And you two did make quite a stir at the Grand Galloping Gala. But it's quite alright - my family may be of royal birth, but just like anything else, respect is something that we need to earn. Prince Blueblood needs to realise that his station doesn't mean he can look down on others."

Rarity thought hard for a good reply. "You're a good teacher to Twilight, I'm sure your teachings may get to him some day."

She stared at the Princess for a while, looking at her crown and necklace. An idea popped into her head. "Pardon me your highness but have you worn any clothes to functions before?"

"Thank you Rarity. And Twilight is indeed a wonderful student, with her friends to guide her as well." One could not learn about friendship without friends, after all.

"I don't wear clothes often, but on a few occasions I have indeed worn clothes to functions," Celestia said. "Just for a little change, of course."

The itch to design for Princess Celestia was one she was forcing herself to not scratch at the current moment. "Really? I have never seen you in an outfit before, Your Highness."

"Well it has been quite a while," she said, chuckling. "I imagine you and your friends had not been born the last time."

"Fashion from the past? That is vintage! How is it different from the fashion now? Oh I simply must learn all about it." Rarity said with enthusiasm before adding on, "If I may, could I design an outfit for you, Princess Celestia?"

"Fashions were indeed very different," Celestia said, chuckling. "Sometimes I am surprised by how quickly they change. It is a shame that I don't have my library - I did own some excellent books on the history of fashion."

Normally, Celestia tended to be very careful about whether she allowed a particular pony to make something for her. She was the Princess, and as such she had to rule all ponies, and as such she had to be careful to make sure that she didn't just accept the gifts of any one pony. But here on this ship, things were different - her subjects were numbered three. With so few to care for, favouritism was not the issue it would be in Equestria.

"That would be lovely, Rarity. But it would be a shame if I didn't have anywhere to show off your beautiful designs - perhaps we will need to organise another get together sometime."

Rarity was practically glowing with delight. "This is wonderful! I wonder if the Sensoriums would conjure up a book about Equestria's fashion..."

She trialed off before beaming up at the Princess again. "I am in no hurry to make your outfit, Your Highness. I do need a break after making all the outfits for Space Prom."

"It doesn't hurt to try, does it?" Celestia said, encouraging. "And I do believe the ship has it's own library as well. I must make a visit to it myself sometime, in fact." She would be very interested to see what she could learn, both about the war and their fellow creatures. Knowledge, she had learned throughout her reign, was a valuable tool - as long as one didn't allow the pursuit of it to interfere with one's friends, of course.

"Why yes, of course - you mustn't overtax yourself, Rarity. I can be a very patient pony - and I'm sure the wait will just make the anticipation all the better, don't you think?"

"The wait would be worth it." Rarity said with a smile. "I will contact you again when I'm ready."

"Thank you, Rarity," Celestia said, smiling. "And in the meantime, I do hope you will enjoy the party."

"Likewise to you, Your Highness." Rarity bowed before turning away to scan for interesting things in the party.

(The Hub gave the show an hour long slot which meant that both part 1 & 2 were to be shown but they showed part 1 twice. Either they goofed up or it was intentional... I stick to my theory that Discord did it! XD)
