A Housewarming Party for a Castle

Celestia's new home was a grand residence indeed: the citadel of Camelot, a place which featured heavily in the myths and legends of Earth. Not that Celestia was familiar with these myths, of course.

Guests were free to wonder around the castle at will, but Celestia had decided that today, the courtyard would be a lovely place for everypony to get together. There were a few tables set up, with the treats Hoshi and Applejack had so generously made, and Rarity's beautiful decorations. And later, Celestia planned to invite her guests to ride on the Ferris wheel that happened to be located just outside the castle.

The crewmembers had suffered a great loss recently, but she hoped that this would bring them some small amount of joy, and the comfort of friendship in this time.

[[ooc: Sorry this is a day late guys, uni ended up being much more hectic yesterday than I expected. Anyways, I've put up a subthread for Celestia greeting visitors and rides on the London Eye. Those that ICly helped out this party can also set up sub-threads for the food tables/games/whatever as well, if you guys want to. (Edit: The sub-thread for Hoshi & Applejack's nibbles is up here!)

But other than that, feel free to start your own threads and tag each other. People can also wonder around and explore the castle - it's the BBC Merlin version of Camelot, but only the citadel itself (as opposed to the whole city).]]

"It was nothin," Applejack shook her head. "A party's no place to say no to good food!" Parties that discouraged this were not her type of social gathering at all.

"Say, what's your name? Can't recall ever seeing you before. I'm Applejack, I work over the farm in Hydroponics."

During her natural life, it had been expected that the King of Knights maintain a more refined presence, deliberately restraining herself during feasts even as those around her ate with gusto. Not that it had been especially difficult; Britain's cooks had been terrible. But now?

If there wasn't a need to hold back for the sake of others, Saber was more than happy to have her fill if the food was good. And it was; earning the Earth pony Saber's rare, faint smile.

I am called Saber. It is a pleasure to meet you."

"Pleasure!" Now, Applejack loved to greet everypony she met...but perhaps not in the most elegant of ways. She scuffed her hoof against the ground to 'clean' it and offered it, grinning rather hopefully.

"Well I sure hope you're feeling a mite better."

Saber's elegance might have seemed a bit stiff, though it was a practised formality, having to be both the King of her country as well as hide her true gender. It had served her well enough in the past, but now it could be a detriment to really getting to know others. Fortunately, the pony had made things considerably easier.

Uncertain about how to shake a hoof, the little blonde nevertheless made an attempt with a faint smile.

"Yes, most assuredly. A good meal is always a blessing."

"Then may you have many more!" Applejack cheered. "And...if I might make a suggestion, don't be afraid to let loose a little. We're here to have a good time."

Saber helped herself to another apple fritter; though the stoic mask remained in place, there was a subtle change in the air about her into something not unlike a child being rewarded for good behaviour.

"I am most glad to hear it," she admitted. "I have not had apples since I was first summoned away from Britain."
