Ugh. Eventually, the tide of patients he'd had to deal with had decreased, leaving Soren finally able to take a moment to breathe. He was rather uncharacteristically slouching in his seat on the Obs Deck, staring balefully out at the view outside.

He hadn't realized what a chore it was to have to pick up healing duties. Where he came from, every army had a contingent of clerics to supplement the use of vulneraries by the common infantryman. That he'd seen none in use by the forces fighting on the ground was dismaying. He'd attempted to save what lives he was able to during the events on that moon or planet or whatever (Soren was not great with the proper scientific classifications of celestial bodies), but without adequate support, he knew a number had simply fallen through the cracks. There was only so much a single unit could do, especially with the tools at his disposal.

Healing wasn't even his specialty; he'd studied the use of staves mainly to better fill gaps in the Mercenaries' pool of abilities. Better than learning knives, at any rate. If he'd only had a Fortify staff...

Soren cast another glance out at the stars. "I'm sure. So, what sort of miraculous vantage points do demonic overlords enjoy?"

"Somewhere high and secluded so you don't get bothered by stupid minions all the time, duh!" Pram replied. "Where else?"

"Ah, how practical of you," Soren said dryly. "Fit for standing over the masses and cackling about your superiority, I assume."

"Of course! Demons, especially Overlords, love boasting. I mean, why else would each Overlord have their own trademark evil laughs?" She said with a smile. Not to mention most of them were stupid, as well.

"I personally didn't care what my minions did in my Netherworld, though. They knew they couldn't stand up to me. Plus, I was always away from it making fun of other Overlords."

"Hmm. A most magnanimous and even-handed approach to rule, I'm sure." Soren was beginning to wonder how Overlords got anything done, especially if they were always off visiting and calling each other's names. Even the most cowed human subjects would eventually rebel if not monitored closely enough...

"So you have a trademark laugh? I don't believe I've ever heard it."

"I'm different, unlike those idiots. Why would I have a 'BWA HA HA HA!' kind of laugh? That's stupid." Pram said with a scoff, brushing her hair away. "But yes, I have one too. It's a small giggle, that's all. ....Tee hee!"

Soren waved a hand. "Yes, yes, we are all different, as different as snowflakes falling from the aether." Although as far as he was concerned, most turned out to be drips under any kind of heat.

He blinked briefly in disbelief. "...tee hee?"

Pram folded her arms across her chest as she stared back at the look she was familiar with.

"What?"

"I do hope you didn't expand too much effort thinking of that." Have a small helping of Soren disapproval, Pram.

"Why would I spend forever thinking of how I should laugh?" Pram replied in a huff. "That's so stupid."

It was true she didn't think much, but she secretly liked the giggle. Not that she would admit it openly.

"I'd rather use the time to plan out pranks to play on other Overlords instead."
