Rachel's expression softened a little bit, and she moved to have just one hand hold onto him lightly as they got far enough out, encouraging him to move with her. She knew he felt awkward about this, she did, but that didn't mean she couldn't enjoy it.

"I know," she said, sympathetically. "But it's... complicated, I guess." She gave a half shrug, nonchalant. "The whole thing's been kind of blown, anyway. It'll be fine. Besides, I think most people are kind of occupied with their own stuff."
