A Need For Change [Open]

There was something that Sakura didn't want to or like to admit: this ship scared her. Granted, she had somewhat overcame her fear of the supernatural after the incident with The Erase, but this was different. She was on a massive spaceship, in the middle of who-knows-what, told to face something she'd never heard of and the only person by her side was her best friend, someone she absolutely didn't want to get involved in this mess.

At the moment, Sakura had perched herself on top of the roof of her current home - the W.I.T.C.H. Bus, trying to distract herself with other ideas. Lost in her thoughts, she idly looked at the various buildings, seeing what was around. As much as she liked the bus, she figured her and Tomoyo in their own place would be a lot better so those who are living in there now aren't overwhelmed.

Sumeragi had been exploring the city bit by bit - though this section had been somewhat low on her list. Religion.. she wasn't quite sure what her feelings were on the subject these days, and she mostly compensated by not thinking about it at all. But it would be good to know where things were, and it was an interesting area, aesthetically, to explore.

...That bright pink bus was something of an anomaly, though, among the more towering-and-stone architecture. And there was a girl perched on top, glancing around thoughtfully. Sumeragi looked up, and gave her a small smile.

"Nice view up there?"

Sakura blinked as she heard someone call out to her. Looking down, she spotted Sumeragi and returned the smile.

"Just a bit, yeah." she replied. "Probably not as great as on the other buildings, but nice nonetheless."

That got a small laugh out of Sumeragi. "I suppose that's true. Though it's a rather more eyecatching seat, I think."

Sakura chuckled a bit. "It is, that's for sure." she admitted. "Wanna come up here? I doubt anyone'll mind."

Sumeragi glanced up at the bus. It did look sturdy enough to hold her weight, though... "You'll probably have to give me a hand up, I'm not much of an athlete."

At that request, Sakura leaned over, holding her hand out for Sumeragi to grab, intending on pulling her up. "Here, grab hold!"

Sumeragi took it, and used her other hand to heft her weight up. It took a few seconds to find decent footholds up, but finally she was pulling herself over the edge of the bus.

"Phew. Space living is nice, but it's hard on the physique," she said with a grin.

Sakura chuckled at Sumeragi's comment before realizing what she had said. "...you lived in space before you came here?" she said, surprised. "Wow. What was it like?"

Granted, she's doing it now, but to find out from someone who experienced it first hand...

Sumeragi made herself comfortable next to the younger girl. Another one with no space experience, it sounded like - which she was starting to realized accounted for a lot of the crew.

"It's... dull, mostly. Same food, same people, same grey walls. It was a much smaller vessel than this one."

Taichi had just been walking back to the Bus when he noticed Sakura there. "Hey Agumon, go on ahead okay?"

"Sure, I'll save you dinner," replied Agumon as Taichi went around and began to climb up to talk to Sakura.

Sakura heard the little conversation before noticing Taichi starting to climb up the bus to join her.

"Taichi...! Is something wrong?" she asked, curious.

"Naw nothing wrong," replied Taichi, boosting himself up to the top and sitting down with a grin. "I just wanted to see how you were doing, s'all."

"You kinda look upset," he added quickly.

"Oh... well, then...!" Sakura said, chuckling a bit. Calming down a bit, she answered his question.

"It's just... it's a bit overwhelming. Finding out everything. I mean, I should be used to it by now with all I've been through, but... yeah..."

"No one's really prepared for stuff like this, no matter how much they want to be." said Taichi seriously, shaking his head. "I might have seen a lot too, but that never means I'm really ready for it, y'know?"

"Yeah..." Sakura uttered, nodding her head. "Then again, I wasn't ready for how much life changed for me... the magic, the trials, everything..."

"Yeah, like I said, being prepared isn't really something you can be, right?" said Taichi. "I mean, y'know, stuff like that."

"Right... one day at a time and all that!" Sakura said, nodding. "I guess I need to get used to this as fast as possible..."

She couldn't help but utter "...I wonder of Clow Reed knew of this, too..."

"And you've got me to help," replied Taichi. "I mean really, everything helps."

"Clow Reed? Who's that?"

Sakura jerked a bit when she heard Taichi ask about Clow. She seriously wasn't ready to be all open about her past and everything that was connected to it. Oh, well, cat's out of the bag, so...

"Clow Reed... well, he's the man who created these..." Sakura said, pulling out her Sakura Cards. "The Clow Cards, magical cards that can do various things. He predicted that I would be the one to inherent his power and set it up so that I could. Now I wonder if he foresaw everything that got me here..."

"Could have. You never know with prediction. He sounds kind of like Gennai. He created Agumon for me, as well as the other things like my Digivice, Crest and Tags." replied Taichi. "Not bad really."

"...Wow, really?" Sakura said, a little surprised at that. It seems like it always fell to the kids to try to save the day, didn't it? And it felt like it again here.

"Heh, guess we have a little something in common, huh?"

"Yeah it's not bad. I'm used to it a little, but at the same time y'know, it's always neat to see people with similar backgrounds." he said, chuckling a bit.

"It really is..." Sakura said. Though, thinking about it, it made her realize just how lonely she was. Oh, sure, she had Tomoyo around, but her family wasn't around, nor Syaoran.

Pulling up her legs, she hugged them close as she continued. "...did you find anyone from your home?"

"Yeah I did, my sister Hikari. She's been awake longer than I am. In a way, I'm glad since she had Tailmon with her for a while now." said Taichi, smiling.

A small smile crossed Sakura's lips, nodding. "I'm glad to hear that. The only person I found was my best friend, Tomoyo." she said. "It's not bad, but... I wish I had my family here..."

"Well, close friends are still good. You just have to make sure to make other friends too, right?"

He grinned and lightly nudged Sakura's shoulder. "C'mon don't look so glum. We're on an adventure to save the universe! How can you not be excited?"

Sakura couldn't help but chuckle. Taichi was right, she shouldn't be so glum, not now!

"I'm sorry, Taichi. I guess I let everything get to me. You're right, though - as much as I'm worried about everything, the thought of doing this? Well... it does excite me."

She smiled widely. "This is my chance to prove I can handle everything on my own..."

"That's right! And really, there's always something that you can do at any given time. Trust me, it'll work out." he said with a wide grin. "What is it that you want to do, and then just do it. It's what I go by."

Sakura's grin grew wider as she heard Taichi's comments, nodding in agreement.

"You're right. In the end, everything'll be okay. Even with this situation, I should remember that!" she said.

Taichi nodded. He knew instinctively it wouldn't be as easy, but there was too many down feelings in this place and it bothered him a lot. "That's right."

Hikari blinked, walking out of the W.I.T.C.H. bus and looking up and seeing one of the new girls sitting there. "Umm... you're Sakura, right?"

Sakura jumped as she saw Hikari address her. She hadn't realized someone would take notice from inside!

"Y-Yes, I am! I-I'm sorry! I can get off if you want me to!"

Hikari shook her head. "No, don't worry about it, it's fine!"

Actually, she moved over to start climbing up to start sitting next to you Sakura.

"Oh! Okay, then!"

Noticing Hikari climbing up onto the bus, she leaned over to extend a hand to help the other girl help.

Hikari smiled, taking Sakura's hand and getting up right next to her. "Thanks. So, how have you been dealing with everything?"

"It's... a little rough, I have to admit." Sakura said. "I mean, I should be used to something like this, but... everything... just gone? I... I don't know."

Hikari frowned, sitting down next to the other girl. "It's pretty hard to get used to actually. I don't think anything that happened back home for you could've prepared you for this."

"I don't think so, either..." Sakura said, letting out a small sigh. Time to change the subject. "...I was thinking of maybe heading for one of the other houses around here."

She blinked, looking over at Sakura. "What's wrong? You're not liking it here at the bus?"

"Oh, no, I do! I guess I feel bad for staying somewhere and not being able to make up for it!" Sakura admitted. She smiled a bit at Hikari as she continued. "If you want me to stay, though, I'll stay."

Hikari shook her head. "You don't need to worry about that. I mean, we're all in this together now, right?"

"Besides, the place uses magic and adds new rooms as it needs them anyway, so it's not like we're going to run out of room."

"It uses magic, too?" Sakura said, blinking in surprise as she heard that. "Wow... I wonder if it would work with mine...?"

Hikari shrugged. "Well, I guess it's worth a shot. Though maybe we should check with Negi to see if he ever used his magic in the bus to make sure we don't accidentally mess anything up..."
