Of a Dragon's Palace and River [Open]
After events had settled down some after the recent pod release and the arrival of at least one other from Krynn, Crucible had needed to stretch his wings a little as it were, take a little time in his true form, time to take a good swim in the river and a flight around the city to collect his thoughts. One that had a number of secondary benefits, one being to make his presence as Crucible known aboard, after all one might wonder where as large a dragon as himself might go if gone unseen for too long. The second came when he was flying, a distance out from the final bend of the river. Ones that he had been looking for for some time now, his palace from Sanction.
High walls surrounded the grounds of the vast white stone Palace, its' main building stood four stories high and was roofed with silvery gray slate. Five huge towers stood, one at each corner and one in the center, where a tall, broad staircase climbed up to the main doorway on the second floor
Landing. Landing within the high walls the large dragon circled the building with which he was so familiar. From what he saw at the least it was intact, both within and below, indeed a number of the outbuildings that were housed within the walls still stood.
It wasn't long before once more in the air, satisfied that his home for many years was intact. Turning his course up river intent on taking a long relaxing swim through its currents. Landing near the Angkor-Wat that made itself a bridge across the river before slipping easily into the water to swim lazily downstream, letting the current pull him along its course, his long neck held high above the water as he kept an idle eye out for anyone of interest.
(OOC: Feel free to see him flying about he's kinda hard to miss at 140ft long, feel free to have your character come across him in any of the three locations, just note in the title of the reply as to which)

By the river. With apologies for my HTML fail!
Because that would hurt.
Luckily, bridges seemed pretty convenient around the river that flowed through the City. Which meant Ellyn was pretty content, until she saw the long, serpentine neck breaking the water.
Yellow eyes went wide, and her jaw dropped open in disbelief. Sure, she could count a handful of times she'd actually seen the Dragon on her world, but once you did, you just didn't forget how one looked.
"Awwwh, you gotta be kiddin' me!" the pyromancer blurted out, scrambling to look for a convenient place to hide. Lacking that, she tried to make herself as small as possible near one of the posts by the bridge.
"Nobody told me they had dragons here!"
...I couldn't resist,
Re: ...I couldn't resist,
Closing in on the bridge Crucible slowed his approach and lifted his long neck and rather large head above the height of the bridge itself, though still a reasonable distance from the bridge, so as not to completely scare her away. One of the new arrivals he gathered. Something of a snort of amusement was given though at the Chancellor's comment, "Evidently, need they have?"

No, it wasn't giving at all. Probably a good thing, as being dumped into the drink would be bad for her.
"Maybe? How many ARE you here? I mean--" Well, her agitation was evident. She hadn't set herself on fire yet, thankfully, as she hadn't done that since her first or second year at the Elemental College, but the air around her was definitely notably warmer than the rest of the air over the river.
"Th' only dragon back home was a Monarch. Old an' powerful." And trouble, though Ellyn wasn't about to say that out loud with a dragon in breath weapon distance.

"There are many dragons of many kinds on Krynn, far from just a single one, though that could fit the description of one such as I," Old and powerful, two thousand years would do that, that there was only but a single dragon on the others world was a concerning fact though.

"Used'ta be more dragons, but nobody knows what happened to 'em. Just disappeared, so far's anyone knows. Just th'one left, and so far's I can tell, he's none too happy 'bout the fact either."
She just frowned at the dragon's declaration that he was old and powerful too. By this point she wasn't sure what to say, but considering he hadn't decided that she looked like a light snack, the heat was decreasing slightly.

"Whatever the ship's broader intentions, Miss, its residents have been allowed to enforce the rule of law on each other," he says reassuringly.

He dipped his head toward the Chancellor, "Indeed, I have no intention on bringing you harm," Turning gaze from one to the other, "I am Crucible, and who might the both of you be I wonder?"
no subject
Which was probably a good thing, really. It prevented her from laughing. It probably wouldn't be the most polite thing to do in this situation.
"Jus' woke up not too long ago."

He dipped his head the slightest of degrees to them both in return for their introductions before peering down to Ellyn, "I had heard that there was another, 'pod-release',"
I wish Ellyn could not be a jerk, but...
Sorry, Chancellor, that was addressed to the dragon that looked like a dragon. She might apologize. Someday. At least ELlyn got back to her feet and gave the tall green guy a bow.
"Nice ta meet ya. Chancellor of what?"
Re: I wish Ellyn could not be a jerk, but...
"The Avalon Empire. I have no official position here."

The Avalon Empire? It was no empire he had yet heard of, one from another world or reality no doubt.
