Informal Meeting of The Outsider's is a go

Normally, Kaya would have spent the whole day at the hotel, preparing for the meeting: cleaning, making sure the pool was at the right temperature, making sure all the food was ready. However, there were a few people missing, notable Overlord Zetta, Lash, Hit Girl and a few others, so she wanted to have this less formal one on the bus, particularly since they had the classrooms at their disposal.

This didn't mean, of course, that Kaya was going to NOT prepare things as usual. There was a tray of several different snacks available for those who attended, as well as a projector set up in Tarnee's room set up by Beastboy since Kaya still hadn't quite gotten the hang of the modern technology possible to make movies.

In the meantime she still had the common area spruced up and sparkling, and was greeting people at the door.

Kaya and Beastboy are really glad you can make it! So feel free to mingle, have something to eat, and ask your hosts anything about the bus!

He'd warned her that if she kept providing food, she wouldn't be able to get rid of him. Well... that hadn't been literally true, he hadn't exactly spent every waking moment at the bus -- but he certainly was here now, cheerfully raiding the snack trays.

Ronnae passed by of course. She had been part of the Outsiders for quite some time and she always enjoyed helping new recruits and the team. So she'd just wait on one of the couches in case anyone needs anything. The timid girl wore one of her usual hoodies, a skirt and boots.

A hoodie! That at least marks Ronnae as someone who might be somewhat hip. Unlike everyone he's run into so far, including the guy who insisted he be coherent on the comm systems.

At the odd greeting Ronnae tilted her head slightly, looking at him curiously. She guessed she didn't mind considering she was pretty short...

"Oh, ummm h-hello." She replied timidly and standing up to give a short bow.

"Dude, quit speaking in tongues." Peter said, hanging upside-down from the ceiling from a webline.

"How much room does this thing have?"

Having never been inside the bus before, Jamie was taken aback by just how spacious it was, looking around with obvious, if muted, astonishment.

"Well, it is magic!" Kaya said. "There are even other dorms where people live, actually. I know Negi and Devlin and Asuna live here."

She gave him a polite bow. "Good to see you here again, Jamie!"

Jamie had to look mildly impressed at that. For all that technology had accomplished on his world, he was learning that magic was capable of equally amazing feats.

He nodded and offered a tight, formal smile at her greeting. "Thanks. What'd you have planned for tonight's meeting?" Down to business, as always.

Alex tugged at Kaya's sleeve. "Is there any ginger ale? I'm not supposed to ask Ifrit for ginger ale anymore."

Kaya looked down and immediately had to suppress the urge the coo and hug the little boy. He must have been the one that had contacted her from earlier.

"Sure, there's some right over there....well, as near to ginger ale as it can get. Who's Ifrit though, and why can't you ask ginger ale from him?"

"This is Ifrit." Alex raises a hand with a ring on it. "And he can't get any for me because normally he uses teleportation spells to get me ginger ale, and they said in the magical department that those aren't safe on the ship."

Anwei stepped in and reflexively moved to the right, so that she would have room to stand and gape for an instant without blocking the door. This was - considerably not what she had been expecting. Larger, for one thing. The glossy white paneling reminded her for a single sharp painful instant of the Fleet - but she put that thought aside.

"Hello, Kaya," she said. "Sorry, I didn't have any snacks to bring."

"Oh, that's all right Anwei," she said, smiling, "I'm the one that's supposed to be providing the snacks anyway! I'm just glad we're still getting so many people to come to this gathering! It's the training session I'm after though: I figure Beastboy knows more about team building fun things to do. He's more of a pro at this than I am."

On the one side, Mark didn't know what he was doing here. That Kaya girl said something about it being some sort of group so he guessed he should at least check it out. He was still not very happy about the whole situation with Peter, but tried very hard not to think about it.

And here is Kaya, curious about the boy she hadn't seen before. He seemed to have a pretty serious look on his face though, and she wondered what made him look so pensive. Was he one of the newly popped?

"Hello!" She greeted, giving him a smile. "I'm Kaya! Can I help you with anything?"

She was slowly trying to not add "of the Southern Water Tribe" as her moniker. It just confused people.

"Interesting place," Gandraya commented, without a hint of her usual teasing nature. She'd seen many things in her travels around the galaxy, but this was certainly something different.

Kaya looked over the new arrival: she was sure she hadn't seen her before, but then things constantly changed on the ship, especially when you hadn't seen someone in awhile.

"Hello!" She greeted her, smiling. "I'm Kaya, nice to meet you!"

Now that everyone was here (as many that would be anyway) Kaya cleared her throat.

"I'd like to welcome all of you guys here to The Outsiders Some of you know me and Beastboy already, but for you who don't: Beastboy and I are the leaders of this team, The Outsiders. We were started a little while ago, after a mission, when we were determined that the kids of the ship have a group of their own that included them. Since then, there have been much improvement in the relations between the younger and older people on the ship. But this team also functions in another way: it was our hope it could be a place for you guys to hang out, to help one another, to be a family I know we won't really be able to do that on actual missions: the leaders of those usually decide who's best suited for whatever task is at hand.

"But what we CAN do is help prepare you for those missions, and get familiar enough with each other's powers, and maybe even make you a little better That's been my aim since coming onto the ship, and I know we can help make it one of yours too. Now, since we're make this an informal one, not in our usual headquarters, I figure we can start with a vote: Beastboy has some fun stuff planned, and I want to get some training going on. This bus has some really good classes for that. So here's the vote: you guys want to train, then have fun, the reverse, or just do both? It's up to you."

Ronnae simply stood in the sidelines. This was the part that Kaya and Beast Boy excelled at.

She still remembered clearly her first encounter with the Outsiders. At first she thought they were a bit too optimistic and found it odd that they thought they had a voice. Those were her main concerns and the ones she voiced during said meeting. Kaya and Beast Boy handled the questions well, and after a bit she started getting involved with the group. Eventually becoming a main member of the team and one of the 'instructors'.

She'd be there to keep spirits up, talking wasn't her thing. So she smiled at the stage where they both were, encouraging them on to do what they did best. Lead the team.

"I prefer to DO the training rather than be the one trained, I'm not sure my vote quite counts. Not that I'm not open to fun things... though the two usually work out the same..."

Did he have a point with this? He'd lost it, if he did.

Some martial arts training!

Dusting his hands, Morgan stepped to the center of the training room with a glance around at the people who'd come.

"Well, welcome everyone. I'm Morgan Knight, fairly fresh out of the basement here, and I have many identities, but the only one that's important is 'martial artist'. I'm not here just to teach you how to punch and kick, though; I hope I can instill a little of the philosophy behind the martial arts in each of you, in a way that makes this whole mess a little bit easier to deal with."

Kaya was, of course, bound to follow him here. This would officially be her first time learning under Morgan, so she was anxious to see how the others would conduct themselves in this training.

For now, she was silent, waiting to see who else was interested in coming to the training. However they did this, she was ready.

Oh, no. Not another lecture on the importance of respecting the power you possess. Didn't he get enough of these at superhero school?

But he pays attention, because he really needs to learn how to take down bad guys without turning them into blood puddles (which he's sure would be the result if he used puppet on them).

Some zero gravity combat training!

"Hello," said Anwei; she was standing relaxed at the center of the training room she'd chosen. "I'm Anwei Ayles, and I'd like to share some information on fighting in the absence of gravity. Just talking rather than full contact training, as we are currently in gravity." She waved her hand as though gravity was some smog they happened to be trapped in, but she smiled as well.

"In zero gee, weight and height no longer have the advantage; speed and flexibility count for more. You fight with all four limbs (and your head if you are so inclined), and move with all four limbs; because even more than in gravity, fighting is movement. Learn how to move, how to calculate action and reaction; that is how you begin."
