Big Tour Fun Time
Eddie was waiting in a hall for Rose. She said she was going to show him around the ship, but only after she got a snack. Eddie leaned against the wall and tapped his foot impatiently. He had gotten a little more used to the place, but he still didn't feel comfortable without a friend around to ensure him that the floor wasn't going to open up and eat him.

You know if they didn't run into those apparently hostile stowaways and all freaking die.
She waved a hand at Eddie as she found him in the hall, trying not to think about it.
"Hey, you ready to take a look around this place or what?"

Eddie was already familiar with the pod chamber and the cafeteria, and he'd heard about the media library, the sensorium, and the city. If this ship was big enough to hold a city, this tour could take a while. Which was just fine with him. The more time spent with Rose, the better.

"Let's go to the city first. It's huge, I haven't even been everywhere in it yet."
She nodded her head and started walking, leading the way.
"How'd you sleep last night?" she asked, just trying to make conversation. She hoped vaguely that the little one-person pod-bunks weren't too creepy for him to rest in. First few nights she'd slept in one had felt like she was just climbing into the jaws of the monster so to speak.

"Uhg, not so good. I swear I could hear it moving around me. Guess I'll just have to get used to it."
Eddie swished his tail from side to side and tried to relax. Talking helped a little.
"It's just a little too Sci-Fi for me. What was your first day here like? Can you even count days out in space?"

The first time he chamber had CHANGED SHAPE she'd racked up her first violation trying to stab a wall and keep from being 'swallowed'.
"Nobody's been eaten yet though."
She shrugs when he asked about her first day.
"I was mostly just pissed and disoriented. Stacy offered to drug me when I was just out of the slime cause I was so twitchy. I thought I was having some messed up vision or something but no such luck." She scuffles a foot against the floor, leading him down the stairways into the city space. There are elevators but she sort of likes the long route.
"I don't really sleep much here."
no subject
"I don't think I can sleep much either." Eddie covers his eyes when they get into the city, blinded by the artificial sunlight. It takes a moment for his eyes to adjust. Once they do, Eddie marvels at the empty and alien metropolis.
"Whoa. It's so quiet."
no subject
"I know. Makes you want to run through the place screaming at the top of your lungs doesn't it?"
no subject
"Want to?"
no subject
".....why the hell not. Race you to the tree!" She points to it in the distance, then takes off without waiting, whooping as she goes. No sense letting the dude with the portal tail get a head start.

Whatever reason they were brought here, this ship gave them a new opportunity. There wasn't any Deathstroke or Clock King or Titans related problems to get between the two of them. He wouldn't need to worry about her being out on her own in a dangerous world. Eddie's heart pumps faster while he watches Rose running ahead of him.
Maybe this won't be so bad.

It reminded her of friends she'd had as a child, and finding all the best spots in her mother's vast house to hide away in. Secretive little girls in special secret places telling each other the sorts of things you only told your best friends in the world.
Eddie was far from being a childhood confidante, but she had probably told him more than anyone else which... well wasn't much but it was still something.
She flopped down in the grass with an expansive sigh, looking up into the branches of the Garibah overhead and feeling somehow eased by it as she waits for Eddie to catch up.

"Wow. This things a lot bigger up close." Eddie leans his back against the trunk, still panting and sweating.
"That was fun. So where are we now? What's up with the tree?"
no subject
Rose sits up from the grass and touches the side of the tree lightly.
"I just keep ending up here after a run. Lay back and look up and forget I'm on this stupid ship for a while."
She sighs.
"I've got the worst feeling like we're never gonna get home again, Eddie, I'm telling you. Not that I've SEEN anything you know but..." She hesitates, because that's not quite true.
"Well, not seen anything like I usually see anyway."
no subject
"I hope you're not right, Rose. But at least we're not alone." He rolls his shoulders a bit, loosening them up. "I've been homeless before, and that sucked because I didn't have anyone to help me. 'Cept Zach, but you know how he is. And you know what's it's like." Eddie rubs his neck, feeling a little awkward for getting all sappy in front of Rose.
"I'll miss the Tower, but most of the Titans are here too, and that makes things a lot better. Home's where the heart is, right?"
no subject
Rose curls her legs up to her chest and picks at the grass idly. He's right, having familiar faces helps a little but...
"Yeah, not that most of the Titan's hold me as being very home-y but it's nice not to be totally by yourself."
