We've Been In Trouble Before Now [closed]
The omnicoms were actually quite sturdy as it turns out -- sturdy enough to survive being dropped in horror when a certain crew member puts a few anonymous comments together to identify an unknown sentient -- and from there, that sentient's tormentor.
"Captain Kennedy, I need to speak with you immediately," Jeka said, trying to keep her voice from shaking. "Where are you?"
Oh grife. Oh grife, oh grife, oh sprock, oh grife.
The crew was in very deep trouble.

«I'm on the Obs Deck. Where are you?»

Still, she can find him on the Obs deck, near the transport tubes, having a seat on a meaty bench.

Traveling through the transport tubes seemed to take years, and Jeka was certain that it wasn't just because of the Bleed's time-dilation effect. When she arrived on the Obs Deck, she shot out as if MO'nel had thrown her and nearly had to turn on a dime to face the captain.
"My teammate, Brainiac 5, is the one who posted the cry for help on the omnicoms," she said urgently, thrusting her own out toward Leon with hands shaking in rage and fear. "He's being tortured by his mother, Brainaic 4. She's just as intelligent as he is, and utterly without morals, scruples, or any sense of empathy. I cannot emphasize enough how dangerous she is, especially when we do not know who she is masquerading as on board this ship."

"Whoa, slow down a moment." He caught all of that, but it was taking him a second to parse all of that out. Besides, she couldn't properly explain everything if she was in a panic. "You're gonna have to back up for me. Start at the beginning; the message on the omnicomms..."

"An anonymous cry for help was posted on the omnicoms," she bit out. "Somehow, that person's ability to name himself or his captor was blocked, but I was able to identifying him as my teammate, Brainiac 5, by his vocabulary and through some other identifying details he was able to mention. He was also able to say that his captor -- who is torturing him -- is his mother."
She dropped her omnicom on the fleshbench as her hands curled into fists. "The Legion encountered Brainiac 4 back in our home reality. She is just as intelligent as Brainy is, but is utterly lacking in morals and the only thing that she is capable of feeling is joy in slaughter and destruction. Right now, she is masquerading as some unknown person on board this ship, and she is very dangerous."

"But I still need you to calm down. Panicking isn't going to help anyone, Brainiac 5 least of all." Well, Brainiac 5.1, really, considering they were already on version 5.3.
"If she is waling around as one of us, she can disguise her face, but probably not her genes. I'll have them pull the files of everyone matching Coluan physiology and we'll go from there."

She took another deep breath to demonstrate how very much she was not panicking. "Two problems with that plan. One, as I said, she's as smart as Brainy is. Anything he can invent, she can invent something to counter it. She very well could be disguising her genetics. Two, which 'them'? She could be anyone on board -- I am only assuming you are not her because if you were, we would have all been sent to our deaths already."

"'Them' right now being Dr. Hussein, since most of Medical is on the away mission. If she can disguise her genetics, then we'll have to do some serious investigating."
