"Listening to others, considering well what they say" (Part 3: Maingate Hotel)

The Maingate Hotel was pretty extravagant, and an entire section of it had been eked out for the crew's use during their stay. They had several suites, three communal areas, a conference room, their own kitchen with a chef on call if they required her.

They were all teleported from the main teleport pad of the hotel into the conference room, which was a large enough room to be able to hold a group their size and had plenty of chairs arranged in a circular pattern so they could mostly all face each other or whoever was in the middle of the room.

Everyone had to settle down so they were all able to talk, and the meeting itself would have to be carefully controlled so they wouldn't all talk over each other. But they were up for the task, right?

[ooc: Guardian Setup, General Mingling, Clone Checkup, Newbie Briefing, General Briefing, More Mingling, Back to the Meeting, and The Idea Guy sections are open. Backup characters introduced to the plot can join in the mingling subthreads if they want. The opening of new subthreads will be announced here and the ooc. Please read the linked OOC post for a plot timeline.]

Hana grinned back, watching with keen interest. "Hehe, cool." Before pausing to think. "How strong?"

"Level 2000," Zetta said. "There's nothing stronger than me."

With the possible exception of Tyrant Overlord Baal, but he didn't count, damn it!

"I didn't know people worked on levels here." Hana frowned in thought. "So... What would that make like... Normal people. What level are they?"
badassfreakingoverlord: (smug sneer)

[personal profile] badassfreakingoverlord 2011-06-27 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Perfectly normal? One." Easy enough. "For a competent demon, level 50 or so is enough to destroy two million Earth Defense Force spaceships in the space of five minutes or so."

"Woah!" Hana clearly looked impressed.

"Wait, but if you're like 2000, can't you just blow up all the Ohm?"
badassfreakingoverlord: (why am I hurt?!)

"Yeah, easily. That's why they sabotaged the Sacred Tome, so I had to bind my soul to the damn book to survive. I can't exactly hit them with a sword or fist at the moment, can I?" Months of this indignity had inured the Overlord to it somewhat, but it still stung.

mun needs to learn how to read before replying

"I didn't know the Ohm could bind people to books." That seemed to be what Zetta was implying anyway. "That's a weird power. Did they actually manage to force your soul attach itself to an object against your will? Or did you want to go into a book?" He asked, hinting at a hidden understand of such things.
badassfreakingoverlord: (dot dot frickin' dot)

[personal profile] badassfreakingoverlord 2011-06-28 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, it had been a while since he had to explain this one, hadn't it?

"The Sacred Tome contains everything that ever was or is for my Netherworld, written in it. If it gets destroyed, so does everything else. I bound my soul to the book to save my life."

[identity profile] moms-temperment.livejournal.com 2011-07-01 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"But can you still use your powers now you're a book?"
badassfreakingoverlord: (disgruntled)

[personal profile] badassfreakingoverlord 2011-07-02 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh, some of them." But not the awesome ass-kicking powers, as much as he hated to admit the fact.
