"Listening to others, considering well what they say" (Part 3: Maingate Hotel)

The Maingate Hotel was pretty extravagant, and an entire section of it had been eked out for the crew's use during their stay. They had several suites, three communal areas, a conference room, their own kitchen with a chef on call if they required her.

They were all teleported from the main teleport pad of the hotel into the conference room, which was a large enough room to be able to hold a group their size and had plenty of chairs arranged in a circular pattern so they could mostly all face each other or whoever was in the middle of the room.

Everyone had to settle down so they were all able to talk, and the meeting itself would have to be carefully controlled so they wouldn't all talk over each other. But they were up for the task, right?

[ooc: Guardian Setup, General Mingling, Clone Checkup, Newbie Briefing, General Briefing, More Mingling, Back to the Meeting, and The Idea Guy sections are open. She didn't particularly need to meet his eyes; he was still looking contemplatively down the barrel of his sidearm.

"No, not really," Zouichi said, more quietly than usual. By now most of the outright anger was gone, but he still wasn't particularly eager to speak to Hit Girl at the moment. He'd read the comments.

"I hope you're not here to convince me that we should throw these people under the bus for some medical technology."

"I didn't think so," Hot Girl said, looking, if possible, much more serious than usual. "They didn't tell us anything, big surprise. I knew they were keeping something, I just didn't know how much they were, and that they would do that to you guys, or people on this planet."

She scoffed. "Yeah, because I'm sure I'd be really convincing while you have that brand on you. Nah man, wen it comes down to it, I'm in this for the crew, not to dick around playing government stooge or avenging hero. Personally, if we can get what we need and give these people trouble, I'm good with that. You ought to know by now where my priorities lie."

Zouichi closed his eyes briefly, then reopened them. "Maybe, maybe not. Sorry, Hit Girl, but I don't really feel like talking about this right now. Maybe some other time."

He wasn't yet ready to have a conversation this awkward. Maybe if he were more human, he might have been.

Hit Girl nodded. "I can understand that. I never had to be anything but what I was, and everything after that, to me, I have to earn. If I didn't believe that, I'd resign myself to living an ordinary life.

And that was just out of the question.

"But just so you know, I don't see the big deal of a clone and a human anyway, and neither should anyone else. That's all."

Because clone or no clone, people were going to make stupid decisions and live with them anyway, right? That was what she thought anyway as she walked off.
