"Listening to others, considering well what they say" (Part 3: Maingate Hotel)

The Maingate Hotel was pretty extravagant, and an entire section of it had been eked out for the crew's use during their stay. They had several suites, three communal areas, a conference room, their own kitchen with a chef on call if they required her.

They were all teleported from the main teleport pad of the hotel into the conference room, which was a large enough room to be able to hold a group their size and had plenty of chairs arranged in a circular pattern so they could mostly all face each other or whoever was in the middle of the room.

Everyone had to settle down so they were all able to talk, and the meeting itself would have to be carefully controlled so they wouldn't all talk over each other. But they were up for the task, right?

Tana tapped her fingers irritably on her arm as she filed in behind Jalith and The Doctor. Her training was better for spinning PR, to be perfectly frank, but that hadn't stopped her from volunteering.

Even if there was no way to currently salvage anything as far as negotiations went (Captain Kennedy was going to need a boatload of aspirin, no doubt about it).

Sam came in behind The Doctor in name and Tana looking determined. He slid into a chair quietly, waiting for more details. He heard the mess on the omnicomms and was quite honestly conflicted. The clones shouldn't be treated this way, but the technology that had been developed...

He wondered how far this practice was from a vampire keeping a pet human to feed from whenever he wished. Not far, really and with less grey area. This is one he would wrestle with for a little while.

Dick entered after the others, nodding to the rest of the crew that had come with them to start. He made a gesture for them to hold on and, instead, turned to the four new members who had been left when the ship left on it's other mission.

"I'll try to make this brief, because there's a lot for us to get through. How much of a briefing did you guys get before coming down?"

The Doctor held up a hand.

"Gathered quite a bit from the omnicomms," he said, as if "a bit" didn't equal explosion from involved and bystanders and people looking to be bystanders who weren't entirely committed.

Jalith regarded Dick for a moment before looking to the Doctor as he spoke.

"Only the barest of details on planetary information and goals, and what could be gleaned from the outburst on the communicators, I've worked on less," He replied simply as he took a moment to look over the crew before looking back to Dick.

Tana nodded in agreement with Jalith and the Doctor, and kept her peace.

Sam nodded along with the others. "I have heard bits and pieces over the network, but I'm withholding my thoughts until I hear the full story. I know how unreliable this kind of thing can be sometimes." Nice cover for not being able to take a side, he thought to himself. But he pushed the berating of himself to the side, and stayed focused on the task at hand. He had a lot to prove with this incident.

Dick nodded. "All right. You pretty much have the basics. We'll get into specifics now." He managed a wan smile. "Just sit tight. There's a lot to get through."

Nodding to them, he turned and made his way to the front to get everybody's attention.
