When Marco stumbled across the media library, he concluded that this had to be the best day so far on this freaky meatship.
Music. Massive screens. A giant, alien entertainment centre. And, most importantly - video games.
Marco was immediately drawn to the tall white box with the strange looking controllers. He snorted when he saw the name "Wii" (who though that was a good idea? The puns where almost too easy) but hey, this was clearly gaming of the future. Or gaming of a strange and bizarre alien race - it was hard to tell. Either way, it was cool, and Marco was so going to try it out.
He fished around for a vaguely interesting looking game, bypassing all the ones that looked boring (Wii Fit? Cricket? Imagine: Fashion Idol?! pfft), eventually settling on Escape from Bug Island.
Marco had been a bug before. Waaaaay too many times. Now he could squish them in safe video game fun.
But as Marco began to play, his good mood rapidly diminished. Who thought up this whole "swinging around the controller" thing? What the hell was going on with that animation?
"What the hell is with this?!" He yelled, as he tried to get the control to do what he wanted dammit. "This is nuts! GAMING OF THE FUTURE IS CRAP!"
[[ooc: For reference, this is the extraodinarily bad game Marco is playing.]]

"Princess Zelda!" he said, all traces of anything even remotely approaching cool gone: right now, he was definitely a giddy fanboy. With a grin he went and shook her hand. "This is so cool!"
And normally at this stage, when suddenly meeting a very hot and awesome girl, Marco would be trying to think up a good pick up line. But the fact that he now knew that Sheik was also in there somewhere kinda creeped him out a little. For all that this was totally awesome, it was also very strange.

But on to business. "I can indeed vouch for Sheik's words," she said gently, "He has not taken control - indeed, I am the stronger of the two of us." Clasping Marco's hand, she gave him a reassuring smile. "Without him, I would not have survived the past seven years."

"They're alien parasites. From my universe. They're slugs that crawl into a person's ear and take over their body. Then it's goodbye freedom, hello to being a prisoner in your own head."

Zelda looked distinctly concerned. "Sheik is not a Yeerk," she reassured, "Even when he is in control, I can resume control whenever I need to." If anything, she was the Yeerk - Sheik was little more than an observer when she was in control.
What was it that Luke had described them as - symbiotes? "It isn't a parasitic relationship - it's a symbiotic one."
((OOC: Technically speaking, parasitism is a symbiotic relationship too - specifically, this type of symbiosis is obligate mutualism. Sheik can't survive without Zelda, and it's mutually beneficial to them both. ...But that's the science student talking, don't mind me XD))

[[ooc: XD Alas, Marco would probably just be, "don't care, parasite's a parasite" in response to your logical argument of science XD]]

Chuckling a little at Sheik's indignation, Zelda nodded. "We have learned to adapt, yes," she confirmed, not bothering to correct him to the fact that most often, it was her living in Sheik's head. Then she smiled a little. "I think it would be very lonely if we were separated again."
((OOC: But but but. Mutualism and parasitism are mutually exclusive by definition? ^_^;; ))

"I'd rather have just me in my head," Marco said.
[[ooc: Sorry, Marco's asleep by now...XD]]

Then she offered him a smile. "It would be different for everyone, I suppose, but the arrangement is ideal for us."
((OOC: He's missing out ^_~))

He shrugged though, not really willing to argue. "Whatever floats your boat, I guess. But seriously, if you're really worried about Ganondorf being the the pods? Make some plans."
[[ooc: Marco's approach to education is...well. Odd. He very rarely payed attention in class, but every now and then when for some reason he actually did he'd end up remembering and understanding whatever it was very well. The result is someone who can remember how fast light travels off the top of his and use that calculate how far away the Andalite home world would be, and yet is failing maths. Yeah. XD]]

Pulling a face, she added, "And Stacy, of course." Honestly, she wasn't that much of a fan of the way Stacy had been able to get inside their head, no matter how good their intentions.
"Marco," she asked hesitantly, "If Ganondorf does awaken here, and for whatever reason, my presence here is uncovered, would you... be able to help?" She was willing to fight, totally, but there was definite safety in numbers.
((OOC: Huh... aren't you mostly talking about light years at those distances anyway, though? XD;; Also, oh my god I have you, LJ notifications.))

"Luke Skywalker? Luke Skywalker?! Star Wars is real in some universe too?!"
At her question, Marco hesitated a little. Right now, his first instincts were to reveal as little as possible about what he could do to anyone and everyone. Sure, a few people already knew - like Satori and the others who'd seen him demorph during the zombie fight. But he'd much rather let people know about his morphing only when he absolutely had to.
But. This was Princess Zelda. Princess freaking Zelda! He did have an advantage from having played a lot of the Zelda games: he already had a pretty good idea of who she was, and he knew she was trustworthy. And, she had just taken one big gamble on him.
Well. And she was hot, too. Okay, her also being Sheik was creepy. But she was still hot.
"I'm not sure how effective I'd be in a fight against him," Marco said. "Yeah, I've played some video games that featured him as an enemy. But in my world? There is no such thing as magic."
He paused again. Well, might as well dive into the deep end. "But I can fight. And, I'm pretty good for gathering intelligence. See, I've got this morphing ability - basically, I can turn into any animal, as long as I can touch it."
[[ooc: Marco may understand it (in his own...strange way). I do not, though XD. Possibly I am remembering this incident wrongly? But I remember him knowing the speed of light, and somehow using that to do a whole bunch of scary looking calculations to basically say that the Andalite home world was a FREAKING LONG WAY AWAY. Anyways, moral of the story? Marco would probably be a straight-A student if he bothered to pay attention. Since he doesn't, the results are...somewhat patchy. XD]]

But that went ignored in favour of his further explanation. The lack of magic was... well, of mild concern, given that Ganondorf was skilled in dark magic. But his additional skills... those, then, could be of use.
"You can transform into an animal?" she asked curiously, "Is that common, in your world?"
((OOC: I'm sooo sorry! LJ notifications just have NOT been coming through at all today ;_; I only just got this! But yeah, Marco sounds... sorta like me, sometimes XD;; ))
no subject
"A copy of any one I can touch, yeah," Marco explained. He tried to find a way to go into more detail that didn't use the word "DNA" though. He doubted that was a concept Zelda would understand. "I guess it's like...copying the animal. And no, it's not common. Not amoung humans, at least. See, the ability comes from Andalite technology, so pretty much all of them can morph. But not so many humans, yet."
[[ooc: Want me to give you a poke on AIM then? XD

She made a thoughtful sound, trying to follow. "Andalites," she said carefully, "They are the... blue horse people?" One of them had been in the group she and Sheik had been trapped with in that awful maze; they had learnt the name later. "I met one when we were fighting HAL."
no subject
"Yep, that's them," Marco nodded. "You probably met either Ax or Elfangor."
no subject
Most of their time, actually, was spent either in the Sensoriums or hiding out in the shadier parts of the City. It was easier to forget, that way.
She nodded a little. "They can morph, then," she mused quietly, then glanced back up at Marco. "Can I see what it's like?"
no subject
And with that, Marco concentrated. And now would be a really good time to look away, because Marco's skin was spouting scales and his arms were shriveling up into his body. His legs were fusing together, and he was rapidly getting smaller.
Less than a minute later, lying on the floor in from of Zelda was a cobra.
no subject
Sheik also seemed concerned - [...Don't go near him. Those are deadly. Desert snakes.]
"Ah... uh huh," she stammered a little, "Can you change back, please?"
And maybe try something fluffier?
no subject
Soon, after some more squicky shape-changing, Marco was back to normal.
no subject
She gives him a slightly weak smile, asking, "I don't suppose you have anything, um, fluffier?"
Hey, she was still a teenage girl.
no subject
He rolled his eyes at her request. Fluffy? What, was she hoping for a bunny rabbit or something?
"Okay, you don't have some irrational fear of dogs that someone never got mentioned in the games, do you?"
no subject
"I don't have a fear of dogs," she said with a cautious smile. "We used to have some at the castle when I was young."
Except Wolfos, but they weren't exactly the same.
no subject
Soon, an Irish Setter stood wagging it's tail before Zelda. Marco felt somewhat like a circus exhibit. <Am I fluffy enough for you now?>
