...To The Past? [Open]

"Why did I come in here?"

There were very few things Sasami regretted. One of those things? Walking into the art hall. She'd never thought it was needed to come visit here, but, after the whole thing with the Tapestry, curiosity came and bit her hard. The Tapestry wanted to show her things of the future. She'd just wanted to see things of the past. Out of curiosity, she looked at the first statue before her and gasped at what was being shown.

Herself at 3 years old, on a small platform, dead (at least in her mind). Over her was the form of Tsunami, ready to assimilate with her and revive her.

She stepped back, reeling in fear. Why did it show her that?! Of all the things she could have seen, it was that.

"Please, change it! I don't want to see this anymore!" Sasami pleaded, but it seemed like it was stuck at the moment.

Jeka flew to the other princess' side, interposing her body between Sasami and the statue.

"Then, if there's nothing you need right here, I'd suggest moving to another area of the statuary," she said, putting a comforting hand on Sasami's shoulder. She could certainly understand not wanting to see what the statue was currently showing!

"It's all right," Jeka said, wrapping an arm around Sasami's shoulders and pulling her close in a half-hug. "That's hardly something that anyone would want to be reminded of."

"Haven't a sprocking clue," Jeka answered, stroking Sasami's hair. "All the psychics and mentalists in my universe are sentient and can be questioned when they pull things like that. Was that incident on your mind at all? Or on a situation similar enough that it might be on your subconscious mind?"

She winced a little. That might not be helping. "Unless you were asking that rhetorically, in which case we can just stick with "I don't know"."

"It might be that," Jeka said. "Or it might be made to bring up things that emotionally resonate with the viewer, and for some reason, it chose that." She sighed and shook her head. "Like I said, I can't really say why."
