Only Way is Up. [open, bendytimed before Tapestry]

( OOC: As well as a couple days after this log. )

After the failed attempt with Xtreme, at least in her eyes, Hoshi wondered what could be wrong with her unable to sustain the henshin for as long as she could with the other forms. Although, on one of the days where she busied herself around Stacy, she came upon the answer. Of course it had to be that! Her endurance and stamina waned because she went without a good beyblade match in months.

Sure, she trained during the mornings as well as a little bit at night, but without some good old fashioned beyblading, which was high intensity and fast paced all on its' own, she wouldn't be in her tip top shape that she normally would be.

And so, that's what led her to the Sensoriums once more. It wouldn't have the same effect as it would back home, but she would try her best to replicate it.

The walls dissipated for an arena, just like the one she found here on Stacy, but instead of just one opponent, she was up against three beybladers. Then, with a swift movement, she grabbed both her beyblade out of its' pouch and her launcher, setting the two of them up. She stood with her beyblade with the tip pointed up to the ceiling, her legs spread out. After a three second countdown, all of the beybladers released their respective beyblades into the dish, ready to give it their all.

"You can do it, Seraphiel! Show them what for!" she called out, ready to get her game backto where it was normally.

Care to watch or ask what she's doing?

Stephen will bite. Well, at least for watching. He had an idea, considering how relatively similar the arena was, that this was a beyblade match--hadn't Hoshi told him that this was what it was for?

Probably best for him to be quiet for the moment, then, as Hoshi looked like she was concentrating--he'd no more interrupt her than he'd bother a student of his who was in the middle of a chemistry experiment.

He wasn't really the type to get excited while watching sporting events--usually, Stephen wasn't even the type to watch sporting events. But at least this seemed more interesting than most sports he had seen back on Earth.

Stephen rubbed his chin, pale eyes darting back and forth, watching the battle. He even allowed himself a little fist pump when Seraphiel got a good hit off.

Still, it was sort of creepy with how quiet he was being.

"Hoshi! Don't let me distract you!" Well, that was just Stephen reacting like any instructor...

Did he really miss teaching so much? Huh. Maybe he did. It was something to think about in his copious amounts of spare time.

Stephen only nodded, attention turning back to the match. It was an interesting past time to say the least, even though he figured he'd need more study about the correlations Hoshi drew from it.

Well, that was why he was here, wasn't it? Stephen made a mental note to ask her later.

There was evidence of that on his face! Stephen didn't often smile, but he was now, leaning over to get a better look at the battle going on.

"You'll have to explain all this to me later--until then, both of you, go!" Finally a cheer! Seemed like he wasn't always so stoic after all.

"That's the way!" Stephen said, shaking his fists, a grin on his face.

"So you're going to teach me about this when you're finished, right?"

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Great! I look forward to it!"

He hadn't forgot that he'd had every intent of helping Hoshi with repairs...at this point it'd end up being "whereever she needed it."

"Interesting! I look forward to your instruction!" Stephen said.

"Though do all the beyblade creatures look similar?"

He thought it was a fairly relevant question.

"Huh. I wonder what mine might look like, then." Not that Sons of Ether held much with mythology. Leave that for the Hermetics. Nor could Stephen think of a real animal that resonated with him, much.

Well, there was always room for surprises, he supposed.

"Would they be in the pod caverns though? Where did you find Seraphiel, here?" By now the Scientist's curiosity was piqued, which usually meant it was time to go back to the lab and explode things.

But searching for more holy beasts seemed like a better use of Stephen's time. "Do you have any idea of where to begin the search? Because I don't."

Then again, if they were magical, he might have an easier time finding them by virtue of being able to sense that sort of thing.

"Well. Perhaps if Seraphiel will let me scan him?" His goggles were good for something, after all.

"It just means I'll have to work some parameters in it so I'm not just finding Seraphiel himself all the time, but it shouldn't be too odd. And I should be able to do it with my omnicomm instead of having to go all the way back to my lab for it," Stephen said.

It was good being a Son of Ether, sometimes.

"It shouldn't hurt at all, Seraphiel. What I'm doing is basically looking as best I can at your particular energy pattern, and then, with any luck, I'll be able to identify others that are similar on the ship."

Being that he figured Seraphiel was a living creature, it might work even better if Stephen had actually had Life magick too. Wish in one hand and crap in the other, see what piles up first, as the old saying went.

The actual scan took a few moments more than the explanation did, and Stephen nodded once he was done. "All right, I think I've got it."
