Hydroponics was where Ben had planted one of his recent acquisitions from XaXing, just to make sure that it flourished. It had grown rather well, the vendor promising him that it would be space worthy. A tall tree with purple leaves and seemed to shimmer with an inner light. The vendor said it was a Mana Tree, and he was curious to see if it made any fruit.

"You're getting pretty big," remarked Ben as he continued to water it, having brought water all the way from the river since it was the purest source of water they had. "I wonder what kind of stuff you'll make..."

If anything, the presence of the tree was making all of the other fruit-and-alcohol trees around it blossom well and Ben reached up to the next tree, plucking a juicy looking fruit from it and biting into it. "Mmm juicy!"

"Hey Ben." Sho said as he approached. He was taking his usual walk and decided Hydroponics would be a good place for today.

"Who are you talking to?"

"Hey Sho," replied Ben, watering the tree. "I was talking to the tree. They say talking to them makes plants grow better. I dunno if its true but hey, this thing flourished."

"I see." Sho says as he looks up at the tree. "What kind of tree is it anyway? Does it grow fruit?"

"They called it mana tree, so I guess it produces cosmic energy or something," replied Ben, reaching up and touching the shimmering leaves. "Pretty neat huh? It's making all of the fruit trees around it flourish."

Sho looks at the surrounding trees and does indeed notice all the extra fruit.

"I hope it's not radioactive. Maybe you should have it checked out by someone, just in case."

"I get the feeling it's not, but that's just me. Mana is life energy, sort of the cosmic energy of the world. Gwen uses it all the time," said Ben. "Try one of the fruits. They're really good."

"So that's what that pink energy is." Sho says as he remembers when he fought alongside Gwen. He takes the fruit and bites into it. Sho chews a moment and a smile spreads on his face.

"This is really sweet, and juicy. We should plant more of these mana trees."

"Yeah, it's really something isn't it?" said Ben, grinning.

"I was told we could take clippings and plant them as well. They'll grow from that." said Ben.
