Getting Her Partner Back. [closed]

There were three things Hoshi wanted to do after the mission: get Phillip back from wherever he was taken, go take a nice, long shower and then go to sleep. She also was rather hungry, too, and didn't feel all too cheerful right now.

After she found Phillip's book that he had dropped, she went off to find him. Somehow, something told her to go to Zedd's palace, so she drove the HardBoiler over in the direction of it. It looked absolutely evil, menacing, like a place that she shouldn't go into. She steeled herself and got off of the bike, placing her helmet down and then she began her walk into the palace.

"Um, excuse me, but if you have Phillip, can you give him back? I don't mean any harm or anything of the sort."

If there was one thing Zedd hated, it was people just waltzing into his palace uninvited. Ever since the time Tommy just waltzed on in and took back everything he and Rita took from them, he's always made sure that no one else could get in on their own.

Of course, since he was still weak from Signum's attack, that option was out of the question.

Hearing Hoshi's question, he turned to face her. "And just why should I do something like that, hm? For all you know, he's probably safer with me than with you."

"Because he's my partner," Hoshi answered simply. "And, really? I just came back from ensuring the safety of the crew members who were taken hostage, so I'm sure that you know it as well as I do that all I want to do is take him back and then rest for a day or two."

She was telling the truth, if her physical appearance wasn't telling it enough.

A brief snort left Zedd's "nose" as he heard Hoshi's reasoning. "Frankly, you should have left them there, seeing as they all got themselves captured!" he said. "For your information, your friend passed out in the middle of the street and I was probably the only one who found him."

Okay, sure. She could have worded that better, but her logic was dwindling from her as of right now. "Well, the idea of them being sacrificed doesn't sound too good to me, or the other crew members who decided to save them," she shot back.

Then, a moment off consideration crossed her face and she let a small smile fall on her face. "Well, that's very nice of you to do. Thank you for looking out for him."

Zedd shuddered at the thought of doing something nice. He had done it to get Phillip out of the way, not out of any goodness in his heart.

"I don't know if he's awake or not - I've been too busy trying to fix my magic after that swordswoman took it."

She had heard of powers being taken around the ship and wondered why it was necessary in the first place.

"Are you okay from it? And, where did you put him so that I can check up on him?"

"I'm fine." Zedd said, getting annoyed at Hoshi's caring. He's the Emperor of Evil, dammit! He doesn't need anyone checking up on him!

"He's in the library, last I left him. Unless one of my remaining Putties dragged him elsewhere. Follow me." With that, he started to lead Hoshi towards his library.

Sure enough, there was Phillip reading a scroll in some kind of alien language, his hand at his chin and he was scrolling through it eagerly. He had long since woken up since Hoshi removed the DoubleDriver and dropped them out of Henshin, and he had been overwhelmed by the amount of scrolls, books and arcane texts in Zedd's palace.

Thus, for one reason or another he was able to read them too, and he was knee deep in a scroll outlining evil curses 101.

"All right," Hoshi said, wondering what the heck a Putty was, of all things.

She followed Zedd into the library and saw Phillip, relief washing over her face. "Phillip!" she cheered, running over and giving him a big hug in the process.

"WHOOF," exclaimed Phillip, being knocked off the pile of books he had gone through and falling over with Hoshi in his arms. "Welcome back," he said from the floor.

Hoshi's cheeks flushed up a bit at how eager she was at seeing him before she helped him off of the floor. "U-Um, sorry. But... we did it! We finally did it!"

Lord Zedd watched their reunion, his face neutral as to if this affected him or not. Frankly, he'd probably get sick, but...

"I'm glad you're safe, as with everyone," said Phillip. "Though I did have a front row seat for most of it."

He nodded at Zedd. "I have to thank you for looking after my body by the way Zedd."

"As am I," Hoshi replied back. "And, yeah, you did."

She turned her head to look at Zedd, still not getting out of the position she was in right now. "Yeah. Thank you very much for that."
