Rage and Sympathy.

"And hear this, woman: your tyranny will be brought down some day, as all tyranny should!"

That's being broadcast into the immediate air by the Chancellor's transmitter as the dragon-man himself suddenly finds himself deposited back into the normal passageways of the ship.

The Chancellor was not alone. A very cranky Son of Satan was beside him. And in total agreement. "Treacherous filth! Her circuits should have been severed long ago."

"Indeed. Were it not for the ridiculous psychic silence on this ship... if we had a chance to formulate a real plan, we could have brought her facility down around her audiosensors, and the children would have feasted on cake and ice cream. But she can hardly permit a fair fight!"

"One day she will pay for what she has done." As always, GLaDOS had released Daimon's trident several feet away and he stooped to take it. At the same time he tried to calm himself, emphasis on tried.

"Psychic silence?"

The Chancellor tires to shake off the frustration as well, and he's a bit more used to such things.

"...A personal problem on the ship; I still have...difficulties thinking; my apologies for the confusion."

Personal problems- Daimon had experience with those. "I understand. You do not need to explain yourself."

"Thank you. I suspect this ship finds a way to impair nearly everyone in certain circumstances."

"Indeed. My own powers were greatly diminished the moment I awoke from podsleep. I do not understand how." Although now that his darksoul was gone and he was losing more of his abilities he had several theories.

"There are far too many things we do not know here." A vocal-chordless sigh.

"...I do not suppose you like ice cream?"

"I have not had ice cream in a long time." A pause. "I do however, enjoy it."

"Then if you would care to come with me? Assuming it has not all been eaten in the days I have been gone, I have both plain and strawberry."

That earned a look of surprise from Daimon. "I believe I would, yes. I was unaware that we had ice cream here on Stacy."

"I recently acquired livestock, and sought aid from several people to make enough ice cream that many of the children could have. I will need to check on my livestock as we make our way there, but I had the grass growing nice and thick before That Woman began her machinations, and a water supply well routed, so they should be well on the whole."

Daimon nodded. "Most industrious. I would very much like to see your livestock. I have no experience with farming or animal husbandry but I am well suited to hard labor, if you have need of me." A pause. "Although I have an animal of my own I must check on soon enough." He had no doubt that Dog had taken care of himself.

The Chancellor nods. "I will remember that, thank you. It is good work; makes one feel like a free man. It's been a long time since I first learned to tend cows and swine, and I hadn't done it in many, many years until now. And I must admit, the herds are a little...different."

They're not that far from the Vatican now. Actually quite close, a place by the river not previously used for much of anything. The Chancellor's expanded the grasses along the river, built fences -- the 'swine' are actually targs, so he's arranged for an electric fence to contain their semi-predatory rages and generally got thigns quite set up for the herds. The cows have six legs, the pigs are a bit bristly, but the deer in their more distant pasture are simply deer.

"Not exactly the usual livestock, I see." Shortly after he spoke there came a high pitched squeaking noise. And a strange looking creature came running up to Daimon. "Ah, Dog." He bent and let the 'dog' jump into his arms. "I missed you too."

"The closest approximations I could buy at the time. the deer are actual Earth-type stock." The Chancellor blinks slightly at Dog, as Dog does not appear to be of Earth-type stock, but who's he to talk, being a giant dragon-man with no vocal chords and an English accent. "I am glad to see that it is well."

"He is a hardy dog." Daimon smiled briefly at Dog before he caught himself. "And of course, I imagine it was difficult enough to procure them. As long as their produce taste well, or at the very least is not poisonous, I can't complain."

"The milk is quite satisfactory. I am considering also making cheese if I can find a correct approximation for rennet -- I do not have cows to spare." And on they will go, until eventually they get to the correct place, with the freezer. "Would you prefer plain or strawberry?"

"Plain, please. I must thank you, you've gone through a lot of work with little reward, as best I can tell."
