True to his word, Allen has diagnostic exams ready for the taking. A stack of personal screens from the media lab sits next to his work table in the Engineering department, all programmed with tests. Long ones, since they're diagnostic, not cumulative.
One of them is, in fact, programmed with Superboy's name on it. Because Allen is a smartass like that.
"You know Stace, it would be nice if I could have a sign for the door. 'Open Call for Students-slash-Teachers,' something like that," he says, as he roots through the engineering department, looking for just such a thing to make a sign with.

That's just her excuse, though. Really, the wolf's curious.
The stack of screens is a new development, it wasn't here the last time Bella checked and it's not part of the humdrum of things on tables that she pays little attention to when they change.
"What are you doing?" she asks Allen, watching him as he looks for potential sign material.

Allen only jumps a little. Wolves are sneaky!
"Looking for stuff to make a sign out of. I expect you're not interested in going to school, but I'm trying to get the kids on the ship to do it."

"I know this word. It is a place for learning things. I know all that I need to." Yes Allen, Bella pretty much thinks she has no need of your "school".
"I do not like signs much," she adds. "They do not have smell or make sound and I cannot read them."

Gimme gimme, Allen. He wants knowledge, and the sooner he tests, the sooner he can go back to schooling at least a little.

He pops into a seat, and starts taking his test.
Math, okay. Science, cool. Englush and writing, no problem.
History...
"Uuuuuh. We got a problem," he says, looking over some of the questions.

"Ah, hello, is this the place where we're gonna have school?"
This time she won't have to fight anything with dozens of eyes, right?
no subject
"Probably not. But this is where you take the diagnostic test, so make yourself comfortable."
There are some fleshseats and unoccupied chitinous work tables.
"I'm Allen. What's your name?" he asks, handing her the pad, looking at her curiously. There is something in his gaze of a scanner - as though he's taking in data, not looking at her.

"H-how much time do I have?" She says as she sits down and takes up something that could just as easily be a pencil, a branch or a dried up tentacle.

Sees the one with his name already on it.

"Sir Allen, would you have a moment?"

It's a little funny being called Sir when all he does is help organize the nerd herd, but still cool.

"Granted, I may have misunderstood, but I believe you are searching for teachers? And that you might be able to fix my..." He looks at his omnicom for a moment, trying to remember what it's called before turning his gaze back. "Well, make this properly workable."

"Classes haven't started yet, and you're already assigning homework? Should we be worried?"

Evil grin.

Besides, it is a good way to keep his mind off things. Maybe try and come up with a plan as to how to get down into the pod bay and rescue is comrades.
Yeah right. Cielo come up with a plan? Even he knows it's a silly thought, but that isn't going to keep him from trying. It's going to take more then tossing a cat in someones face for it to work this time.
Around a corner and oh look! A person. Cielo offers the stranger a curious smile. "School? You be de won talkin 'bout wantin' t'do all de learnin?"

"Hi. I'm looking for, uh. Allen Gentry?"

He's made a point of it to know names and faces on the ship, even if he hasn't met people yet.

She's looking forward to this, a bit. All things considered, she's a pretty good student.

Man, he hated tests.

Allen holds out a media pad.
"Don't look so pissed about it. Just answer questions until you can't answer anymore, and watch out for that history. It'll probably be different from yours."
