It was an exhausting week.

Between medbay, chasing after a playful Ronnae, dealing with a hormone filled Overlord and still bemoaning the loss of a friend and the gaining of an enemy, Kaya wanted nothing more than to stay in her room and leave everything to its own devices. Of course she knew better: people needed help, with the de-aging and the situation on that planet, and she was already worrying about Billy to death.

One thing she hadn't done though, was visit the people she cared about most,and she wanted to correct that now: she hadn't seen Matt in a week, and Negi, who she cared for like a little brother, even longer. So she made her way to the W.I.T.CH, bus and knocked on the door.

Negi thought for a moment as he tried to mimic it. "ThIs Is A aPiTuRe ScIeNcE eXpErImEnT." he coughed and rubbed his throat. "Bollucks that's horrible on the throat."

He chuckled. "Well the thing is, is that I'm completely unused to her skill set. I haven't seen anything like it, but I am working on a solution at least. I mean, she's got a LOT of power and I mean a lot. But I don't know exactly how to tap it."

Kaya looked horrified. "That sounds like a seal lion dying! Ugh! I hope I'm never GLADOS'd now! I don't think anyone would be able to concentrate after that!"

She shook involuntarily. "I could help, although I don't know how well I could, since this is more your specialty after all. I suppose I could help her with some meditation exercises though: I at least know how to do that much."

"Yeah the mocking voice is what gets people at times. I just walled off her voice with a spell and went from there," admitted Negi.

"Meditation helps because it'll help draw out her latent powers. And we could find a exercise regime to help her get better at faster combat movement."

In that case, Kaya was sure the harder part for her would be figuring out the puzzles. That was more of a Sokka thing anyway.

"In that case, just let her know I'd be willing to help her out with that. Somehow, being here all this time, it's made me pretty good at meditation: I've actually, what's the word, astral projected, a few times. For the combat...well, does she have any friends she knows who would teach her that too?"

"She's got her sister Reimi helping with archery, but she also said that she does staff fighting too," said Negi thoughtfully. "We could use someone who is good at that at least."

"Staff fighting?" Kay said, looking confused. "What does that involve?"

"Someone who's good at using a staff for combat. Bo-kata and stuff. I use a staff as well but it's actually a spear-style that I use with mine," explained Negi. "Thus being said, my style is kind of incompatible with what she knows."

"I see," Kaya said, who most certainly did not see and would be looking up all of these fighting styles as soon as she had the chance. "As it is, I think I'd like to go and meet up with Sasami anyway. I haven't seen her in awhile."

And she smiled at Negi. "And I'm sure you're being the perfect gentleman with her, aren't you?"

"Of course," said Negi, chuckling just a little. He had long since gotten used to other girls hovering over him for being a gentleman at least. He was still blushing a little as he served up two slices of pie. "We spent time together during the thing at the farm."

Kaya happily took a slice of pie and bit into it, savoring the bittersweet taste. As it wasn't totally sweet, she favored it immediately.

"Aww! Wait a minute. What thing at a farm?"

"The sleepover. I could tell it was a farmhouse so I just refer to it as a farm," said Negi.

"Oh," Kaya sad, who still had no idea what had happened during the sleepover to begin with. She took another bite of pie, swallowing.
"I'm glad you guys are well too! Hey, is Asuna still rooming with you?"

"Yeah she is," said Negi. "I'll send her a message, and get her to come visit with you if you want?"

"Sure," Kaya said. "Actually, she might not even have to eave the bus: I'm going to ask Matt if I could stay here for a little while. I'd kinda like to stay away from the hotel for the moment. I was going to share my quarters with a good friend of mine, remember Alex? Well he was podded: some of his stuff is still in the room. I wanted to be around people I care about and miss, you know?"

"Yeah I can understand that," said Negi, nodding. "I'm sure Matt wouldn't say no anyhow and I'd love to have you around more."

Kaya smiled. "I'm really glad to hear you say that! I really7 did miss you, and I wanted to make surer you were doing OK."

She showed him her Pactio card. "I haven't forgotten, after all. I know you might not need me, but I'll still be here."

"I wouldn't forget Oneesama," replied Negi. "Even if anything happened I wouldn't forget."

He smiled at her, dipping his fork into the pie and taking a bite. "I'll always treasure this bond we have."

Kaya tinged, but continued eating the pie. "I'm glad you remember. Actually, once I learned who I was, I realized I could get away with calling you my little brother and not feel guilty about it."

She chewed thoughtfully. "That reminds me: how is Evangeline treating you?"

"I haven't seen Master in a while. I do hope she hasn't been repodded. I checked her place but she was out so I can't tell," said Negi. He sighed. "This keeps up it'll be down to Asuna and I."

Geez, what was with Stacy podding all of their friends? First Alex, then maybe Irma and now Evangeline, that creep vampire girl?

"I hope not. I had a feeling that Evangeline would be a force to be reckoned with in the final fight! Also, she sort of freaked me out a little."

"She would be. Probably be a End-Boss level at least," remarked Negi with a chuckle. "And master does that. Often."

"End-Boss level?" She didn't get what that meant: apparently, she hadn't been talking to Overlord Zetta quite enough to get the reference. "Well, in any case, I'll look forward to you going back to your ten year old self. It's a little strange having am adult male call you the equivalent to big sister."

That and Negi looked reasonable attractive, but she wasn't going to get into that.

"That is true, but at least it's not too bad," replied Negi with a grin.

Which brought her to her next question: namely, him. "And how have you been? Have you recovered well enough from that battle with Kain? There haven't been any negative effects on you or scars or anything, have there?"

"Fairly well actually. I feel better than before." said Negi, pushing his sleeve up to show that his body was smooth and unmarked. "Seems that when I pushed past the corruption, it sort of 'shed' my old body into this new one. I'm completely un-scarred now."
