Eight large jars are placed on the stage as the indication that the performance is near the halfway point as the fan produced by the performer opened and they began to act as though they were drinking something.

Soon, the performer "shed" one of the kimonos for one that gave a more serpentine look and the fan was even different as well. Oh yes, this was the performance's climax.
