All Hail the Conquering Heroes! [OPEN]

((Takes place several hours after the conclusion of this))

They survived. More than that, it seemed as if they actually won; the Ohm had successfully been driven away from their location. The fight hadn't been easy, which one could easily tell just by looking at the Quarter as it docked in back in Stacy's Hangar.

It had a number of dents, dings, and scorch marks where the Ohm had made their presence felt. Thankfully, there was no obvious serious damage. Still, though every crew member who went out was coming back, one had to wonder about their condition, particularly since they sent ahead a request for medics to be on standby.

But now that the ship was fully docked, and the main hatch opened, it was time to find out.

"To Setsuna, it's not enough to only save lives." All of them had taken that oath before boarding the Gundams, terrible as it sounded. "We wanted to see the world change by our own wills. Without wars, without organizations aiding wars."

Allelujah chewed on his words, every one of them slow and painstaking careful. It was excruciatingly thin ice, trying to explain what Celestial Being was without explaining what it was. Especially for him, having no ill-will towards Kira, yet also having spent the last four years protecting their secret through government institutionalized torture. If not for Stacy, he probably would have died there. For that at least, he was grateful.

"But on our Earth, we knew our enemy. We knew their goals, and their motives. Here ..." Allelujah was growing increasingly uneasy. "We don't understand anything. Right now, that's what Setsuna wants to change."

Allelujah was staring outright at the 00 Raiser.

That's why this happened today.

"Nobody wants to fight a war," Kira agreed as he followed Allelujah's gaze to the damaged mobile suit. "Fighting and killing never solved anything. I don't fight because I want to; I don't think anyone does."

"But I have the power to save people who only want to live their lives. It seems wrong to not use that power; to fight as I need to."

He paused for a moment. "I don't understand everything about our situation, either. I wish I did. But I think we'll learn much more working together than we ever would on our own. ...we all proved that today."

"That's why the world had to be changed from its foundation," Allelujah replied with a quiet resolution that spoke to his dedication. Even if that seemed like an impossible goal, an ideal of the most eccentric type of dreamer. "So that no one will have to fight a war they don't want to. Without that change, you will always need to fight. Lives will always be at stake."

Despite this, he had a feeling their reasoning wasn't so different: what to fight for and what to not. The Arios pilot seemed to consider Kira's latter point with trepidation before speaking again.

"You want us to join Starfighter Command."

Kira didn't think he necessarily disagreed with Allelujah's statements - or even Setsuna's, for that matter. They both agreed that war was horrible, didn't they?

But it was the other part of the conversation that caught his attention. "...eventually, yes," he admitted. "But not now. I won't ever ask someone to fight for a cause they don't believe in on a side they haven't chosen to join on their own."

"But I want us to work together as much as we can before that. We're not enemies."

"Even here, Celestial Being has its own wishes." Its own way of doing things, its own diehard beliefs that obeyed no form of government. Didn't it? "But I don't get that feeling either. That we're enemies." He had only gotten quieter, like there might have been something (or someone) to answer to for that. Though he did sound somewhat relieved, too, for all of his caution.

Lockon was in a foul, tense mood and was doing his best to contain it by staying behind near the Gundams, as if glaring at Exia (it would always be Exia to him, no matter what Setsuna and Feldt told him) would make up for the simultaneous urge to punch and coddle Setsuna himself. As much as he hated it, he thought maybe he would go to the firing range later.

He stepped out of Dynames's shadow and caught sight of Allelujah. He paused, wondering if the latter had seen him, and whether or not he could or should simply walk away.

Lockon -> Kira -> Allelujah?

"We all have our own wishes, don't we?" Kira glanced back at Allelujah. "We've all come from different worlds, where we fought for different causes and believed in different things."

"It's... difficult to understand each other like this."

If he saw the other pilot out of the corner of his vision, he made no reaction.
