All Hail the Conquering Heroes! [OPEN]
((Takes place several hours after the conclusion of this))
They survived. More than that, it seemed as if they actually won; the Ohm had successfully been driven away from their location. The fight hadn't been easy, which one could easily tell just by looking at the Quarter as it docked in back in Stacy's Hangar.
It had a number of dents, dings, and scorch marks where the Ohm had made their presence felt. Thankfully, there was no obvious serious damage. Still, though every crew member who went out was coming back, one had to wonder about their condition, particularly since they sent ahead a request for medics to be on standby.
But now that the ship was fully docked, and the main hatch opened, it was time to find out.

"Ok, looks like its just a bit of a sprain, some bruising and definitely some cuts. I can pretty much take care of that stuff now, that way we can avoid having to take you over to the medbay.
As she starts to work the water on him, she nods. "But it seems like you guys were grossly misinformed as to what you were facing. That worries me: what if it had been worse? Even the Overlord seemed a bit concerned."

The expression on his face, however, has very little to do with medbay and quite a lot more to do with the subject she's brought up. "We'd not have survived it," he says, bluntly. "The whole thing's suspicious, if ye ask me. Either it was some sort of test...or a trap."
no subject
Which, to her irritation, was becoming more of a problem. "Billy mentioned this all seemed to fall into disarray. I'd love to just believe its a coincidence, but just as THIS happened, another thing happened on the ship. It just seems too convenient. One of the reasons I'm here now is so we don't have more people in med bay than we need."
And she started on the shoulder, tracing her fingertips over the top of the joint.

A faint frown develops on his his face as he thinks about the situation. He'd be tempted to stroke his chin to help there, but the hand he wants to use for it currently on the side Katara's working on, which would make it a bit awkward. Still, he flexes his fingers for a moment, working through that impulse to do so anyway.
"I mean, it doesn't make sense. If ye were to use that as something to weaken us before drawing us into a trap, why do it now? Why not wait a while longer until it's spread through more of the crew?"
no subject
She shrugged. "Well, think about it: is there anyway you could guarantee it WOULD affect all of the crew? It could probably cripple us pretty badly, but there are so many different lifeforms here, there's no way you could get us all. But it still should be something we're prepared for anyway."
no subject
He shakes his head, looking mildly frustrated. "And we've no way of knowing that it won't, eventually. So if ye put a plan in place to cope, you've got to figure it out based on the worst case scenario. And there's a point where you'll not be able to get a plan to be effective, just based on lack of people to carry it out."
no subject
The thought of it just gave her the shivers. "I just hope if that time every does come, we'll be able to think of a plan of action that can counteract whatever is happening. I guess that's one of the benefits of having superheroes and things on the ship, but we've been lucky so far: no major deaths yet, caused by an actual attack on the ship. Who knows when that will run out?"
no subject
It's not too much different than what he's been through in the past, when he thinks about it. "At least we've a lot of clever people awake who are able to think of things that can help if something does go wrong."
It's something, at least.

When WOULD they get to the bottom of that map situation anyway?
"You're thinking of the Doctor, aren't you? The first person that comes to mind for me would be Billy: this is the kind of thing that would have him researching the library, I think."
She took her hand off his shoulder. "How do you feel now?"
no subject
Between the two of them, they could come up with quite a lot, he thinks. When Kaya lifts her hand off his shoulder, he automatically goes to lift his arm. It's still a little sore, but not nearly as painful as it has been. Carefully, he starts to test the range of motion, relieved to find it to be what it was before the fight.
"It's a wee bit sore, but much better. Thank ye, Kaya. What would I do without you?"
Forgive my sleep deprived state!
She smiled as Jamie tested his arm out, and was quick to answer his question. "You'd probably get into less arguments abut your kilt and men and women," she said. "But I wouldn't have it any other way, honestly."
Quite alright!
Now that the arm's fixed, Jamie starts to wriggle back into the top part of the plantsuit. "Oh, I don't know about that," he says teasingly, then, more seriously, "I'd not have it any other way, either."
A quick glance around, though, and he realizes that he should let her get back to the others. "Look, I'll get out of your way, so ye can check on everyone. But remind me, once everything's settled, and I'll see what I can do about getting ye to meet the Doctor, aye?"
Re: Quite alright!
Heck, right now? She could really use Matt. She hoped he was ok.
"And take care of that shoulder!" She said to him.

"Aye, I will. I'll talk to ye later, then."
