All Hail the Conquering Heroes! [OPEN]

((Takes place several hours after the conclusion of this))

They survived. More than that, it seemed as if they actually won; the Ohm had successfully been driven away from their location. The fight hadn't been easy, which one could easily tell just by looking at the Quarter as it docked in back in Stacy's Hangar.

It had a number of dents, dings, and scorch marks where the Ohm had made their presence felt. Thankfully, there was no obvious serious damage. Still, though every crew member who went out was coming back, one had to wonder about their condition, particularly since they sent ahead a request for medics to be on standby.

But now that the ship was fully docked, and the main hatch opened, it was time to find out.

Before Yzak passed her or did anything else, it was a matter of taking care of and checking on the Blade Squadron's own pilots. Allenby had looked absolutely exhausted, and one of his own team had lost their mobile suit completely. Yzak wasn't happy about that second thing-- but thankfully there were more ZAKU's in the hangar. And as long as Cowabunga was alive, that was most important.

"General," he greeted with a quick salute when those matters were taken care of. Like her, Yzak looked pretty damn proud of what they had accomplished. How could anyone not?

"Lieutenant," Trudy said, returning the salute. "Your squadron flew well out there. Tell Cowabunga he doesn't get to pull that stunt again anytime soon though, mobile suits don't grow on trees."

Blade Squadron was shaping up to be a reliable military force, and Trudy couldn't help but be proud of them. Of all her pilots, really, but Blade was the one she'd been most worried about.

"I'll be sure to," he said with a small, wry smile. "Though I'd like to hope it wasn't a level of carelessness as much as the only thing left for him to do. I'd prefer the pilot coming back more than the mobile suit in any case."

And though Trudy looked more or less okay, he still felt inclined to ask, "are you okay?"

"Don't get me wrong, the pilot's the priority," Trudy said. "And I'm fine. I got shaken around when the Leviathan blew and I took some stray fire across an engine, but my R2-unit shut it down before it could blow. I got lucky."

They had all gotten very, very lucky. Either she'd been doing the exact right thing, running her pilots against the Ohm in every simulation, or they were really bad shots.
