Space Invaders!
After everyone and all of their ships were properly loaded the Quarter had launched successfully. The journey from Stacy to the Trojan Asteroid field trailing NiSaris took several hours, but they managed to approach the field with the people of the nearby world being none the wiser.
The problem was that the NiSarians weren't the only ones watching the skies.
As the Quarter approached and entered the asteroid field, all was quiet. But it was only going to be a matter of moments before that would change.
((ooc: See this post for instructions, but otherwise, have at it, and have fun.))

First Wave
Re: First Wave
Re: First Wave - The Monster
Chase has familiarized himself with the gunnery controls for the heavy fire support, and rests his hands calmly near the controls while he listens to the comm chatter.
5 o'clock - he checks sensors in the indicated vector, counting dots showing up on his screen. He doesn't fire - too far out of range, and its not his job to blunt the attack - his job is covering the fighters and picking off problems once the dogfighting begins.
"They're feeling out our defenses. There'll be more coming." he responds, picking up missile locks where he can, but not firing - transmitting the locations to the fighters and defense systems instead so they don't need to find them on their own, and have some advance help in picking out targets.
Re: First Wave - The Monster
She wasn't going to be careless and get any of them killed if she could help it.
"I'm after these guys!" she said, taking note of the data she was being transmitted about the enemy fighters. Pressing her fingers to either side of her head, she fired a volley from Nobel Gundam's vulcan guns to get their attention. "Over here, you pests!" She activated her beam ribbon right after, but didn't fly in close enough to fight melee yet.

But whatever he was about to say was cut off as something pinged on his radar, and he drew the Freedom's beam rifles, firing a quick burst of shots that caught one of the Shrikes and practically evaporated it in energy.
First blood.

He let loose a barrage of plasma missiles onto a group of Shrikes hot on pursuit before his ship disappeared, the assault striking true against the group and damaging the targets that it hit.
"Wooo! Let's do this! I'll cover ya'll~!" even with the ship gone from radars and view, it seemed the pilot would be making sure he was relaying his position to the team so they could plan out strikes when he wasn't covering the rear or when the need arose.

The Wraith wasn't the only stealth unit on the playing field. Melting out of the inky darkness a little ways ahead of the unit, Deathscythe Hell swung its enormous beam scythe into an oncoming Shrike, slicing it clean in half just a little ways away from Kira and letting the incoming plasma missiles take care of the ones in his blindspot.
"Thanks for the cover-fire, pal!" He called over the cockpit link-up, decapitating another Shrike passing by.

Yzak wondered if the number detected would end up being the nuber encountered. For all he knew, more of the Ohm could show up, be called upon. Right now they seemed to have a better chance at holding them off, and though he didn't expect it to happen, Yzak still hoped they'd repeat the Zokez actions and end up retreating.

As one Shrike came in close, the hedgehog didn't bother to fire, instead, he pulled the fighter plane/mecha hybrid into a spinning kick, its foot colliding with the beast and sending it spiraling wildly into an asteroid. "Alright, got one!"

The Wraith easily veered of as Splicer grinned, "Heh, none of that shady shit, leave that to me kay?"

He made visual contact with each of the targets in rapid succession, locking on and allowing the Valkyrie's targeting system to pick up the slack. Then he shifted into Battroid mode, shoulder pods already opening, and let loose loose with a barrage of reactive missiles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxnC6jkJyEM) that scattered wildly, exhaust trails forming bright blue trails through empty space before zeroing in to pursue their targets.
"Hope you don't mind," Zouichi said. "Bunched up like that, they were hard to resist."

"Just don't get too cocky. I don't think that's even made a dent in their numbers."

"Least these ain' scourge. Would hate those damn kamikaze bastards." He mused as his craft disappeared again.

After firing, she quickly transformed the suit into it's mobile suit form and began firing at the Ohm whenever she could. Still, her stance was mostly defensive. The mass produced suit wasn't as strong as the Gundams and couldn't take as many hits.

"Hilde!?"

"Duo? This isn't the time to get distracted! We've got a battle to win."

"Just make sure you warn us before you open fire."

"Skull-2 to Monster," Zouichi said. "Take care of yourself out there. It'd be a shame if we lost that ship."
He was being nice, really!

Yeah, he probably recognizes the voice on the other end. He can save who he likes and doesn't like for off-duty. Right now, they're all on the same side, and everyone gets the same fire support. War comes way before grudges.

Eventually, though, his confusion was distracting him more than than he could take. "I thought you left OZ?"

He'd never been a commander of a squadron, and the weight rested uneasily on his shoulders - especially now. It was so much easier just using his strength to save others.
Well, he could do that too. The Freedom's DRAGOONs burst off its wings, engaging the foe in a flurry of beam fire.

With a ragged huff, he dropped it, choosing instead to focus on a pair of Shrike hot on his tail. Dropping out on them to end up behind them, he nailed one with his buster shield while firing off a spray of head vulcan fire at the other as it did a U-turn after him. It didn't appear to be enough, though, and the Shrike came rocketing after him before he had a chance to recover.
"Oh sh--!"

She didn't have time to think about that now.
"Thanks!" she said to Kira belatedly and whirled to face another cluster, firing another round of shots from her vulcans. "Why are they even doing this?!" she demanded, as much as she knew she wouldn't get an answer now.
