Unicorns Take To The Skies [open]
Welcome, visitors, to the Hangar, storage place of all the crew's marvelous mecha and other vehicular machines. We have rows of automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, tanks, mechs...and the small group of mechs that doesn't quite seem to fit in a military storage area. Today the activity is around those, the Zords, animal-shaped machines painted in a variety of eye-catchingly bright colors. Sure to intimidate the Ohm!
The mechanic of these large machines, one Billy Cranston, has been assigned a daunting task taking place within this hangar. Make them capable of combat outside the atmosphere of a planet. In the great void of space.
Now, Billy is very lucky, for two of the six are already prepped for this! That's one third less work than he would otherwise have, Billy reminded himself as motivation. Adding flight capabilities to four very large mechs was still a challenging task, but it could definitely be worse.
He'd learned from Trudy that it would be a wise idea to put his plans into motion (and complete them) as quickly as possible. Luckily, the initial designs and supply-gathering had already been completed. That just left him (and any volunteering assistants) to install the necessary rockets within the Zords. One night of continuous work had resulted in the completion of the Lion Thunderzord---under the paws, he'd found convenient places to install rockets. All he needed was a round of coffee, and he'd be able to get through one more.
Visitors would find him kneeling on a fairly long temporary high platform attached to the Unicorn Thunderzord, sporting a sleeveless mechanic's uniform and a coating of sweat and grease. One 'wing' of the zord had had its paneling removed, and his head was currently somewhere inside that mass of machinery running the new wiring through.
It might take a try or two for him to answer calls or come down the ladder. Sounds tend to echo when your head's in a giant unicorn.

"I'm going to pretend that I didn't just hear that. And instead heard, 'Can we take a break? I could really use a nice meal and a quick nap.'" She was stern, but it was clear on her face that she was worried.
Boomy waddled over with the basket and settled it down, turning his gaze over to look around for his friend.

Billy slowly backed away from the Zord, swinging the door closed. It wouldn't do to have everyone cross with him today, and to be honest...he did feel worn out. Head bowed, he sat near the basket in what he assumed was going to be the picnic area.
"I could. I just can't stop worrying about when this battle's due to happen."

She leaned over and gave him a soft sweet kiss before smiling and opening the basket. There were nice smells coming from it, as she pulled up some of her versions of his favorite cheeseburgers, with a side of fries. A nice container filled with refreshing strawberry juice accompanied the meal, as she set the area for them both.

The second she pulled away from him, his mouth started watering. She just had to work on his favorite foods. He flashed a little grateful smile up at her, helping her smooth things out. "You're too good at this."
no subject
"And really, you should stop apologizing for stuff like this. You're as stubborn as me sometimes." She teased, a happy smile on her face as she noticed his approval of the meal.

He nodded shyly, organizing the food and lifting it to his mouth. Delicious as ever. A bite simply served to confirm that, then another, then another...yes his manners were lacking, but he'd seriously been hungry! When did that happen?

...well, what tends to happen to people who consume burgers and soda too quickly is that they accumulate and release gas. He did, and promptly became interested in his toes.
"...thanks. It helped a lot." He'd sit quietly for a few minutes before moving on. The order was to nap, right?
no subject
"Want to head home for a nap, or is there somewhere here were we could lay down to catch a bit of shut eye before I let you continue your work?"
no subject
After helping her clean up the meal, he slowly stood and led them to a more secluded spot behind the zord. There, he laid out the items, smoothing over the sleeping bag.
"All right, I'm going to sleep. I promise."
no subject
She settled on the laid out items and waited for him to settle down besides her, an innocent shy look on her face.

"Sure you're comfortable, Ronnie?"
no subject
no subject
"No, you're quite intelligent. In this position, you can pin me down until it's time to release me, and you can hear when I've finally fallen asleep. Don't...get too comfortable, it won't be long," he yawned, snuggling her sleepily.
'Won't be long' indeed.

She moved a hand to cup and caress his face, moving upwards to brush of a few locks of hair from his forehead. Leaning up gently as to not disturb him from his sleep, she lightly pressed her lips against his, letting them linger for a moment before moving back. "Sweet dreams love"

His fingers trailed up and down Ronnae's back, stroking her fondly. Soon, one hand slid up to her neck and held there, feeling her steady pulse. On impulse, he kissed her smooth skin up to the jawline, gently brushing it without a care in the world.
It seemed he had forgotten the time. Oops.

"I thought I was the one supposed to take a nap," he teased gently, brushing his fingers over her brow. The sleepy eyes were quite appealing.

"Best way to wake up?" not really waiting for an answer she nods to her own question. "I couldn't help it. You looked so peaceful, and then I laid on your chest, and you know what happens when I do." Her voice slow and drowsy but cheery and sweet.
no subject
He clutched her tight, laughing softly. "We both know how lackluster my lullabies are, so it's lucky for us that my heart's an acceptable substitute." His finger tweaked her nose. "Usually puts you to sleep for a while...actually..."
Uh oh. Here comes the realization.
"How long was I out?"
no subject
"I'll help you out and you know it" She smiled.
no subject
"Four hours?" he moaned, dismayed. That was quite a bit of lost time to catch up on. He took one look at her and did his best to relax, brushing a ponytail over her shoulder.
"All right. If we're working together, we might be able to catch up twice as quickly." He slowly forced himself up on his hands, then his knees, then upright. They would finish this somehow, and then...perhaps some relaxation time was in order. AFTER they were done.
There was no one he'd rather work with, he smiled, extending a hand to her.
