Earning my keep

For a change, she wasn't Hit Girl, and likely it would stay that way when she was working out. She opted to wear, just like that day, shorts, low top sneakers and a tank top just so it was tight on her body. She was doing her crunches, just as Chase had wanted, only in the Sensoriums it could at least imagine her a gym, typical NY style with the stick like women, the overly muscled men and the smell of sweat and assorted BO.

Mindy looked ready to work. Her hair was pony tailed, she was sweating and, just to shake things up, had this playing as a backdrop. It helped, when music was playing, to set the mood. Her mood right now? Work, get stronger, get faster. Hence cardio after this.

She couldn't imagine anyone wanting to pop their head in here.

As per usual Ruffnut's innate sense of locating Hit Girl had her wandering into this particular Sensorium "Smells like home." She observed catching a blast of sweat and man smell.

Mindy grinned, despite herself, continuing with her crunches. Only Ruffnut would come by saying stuff like that.

"Your home smells like ball sweat and gym bunnies?"

"Bunnies?" Ruff looked around for a small furry animal that would make a great stew misunderstanding, "Why does your Gym have rabbits?"

Mindy sighed. Well, this might actually have to be explained.

"Yeah, in my world, guys that like other guys, like more than a friend? They tend to get attacked by other guys who hate guys like them. So they went to gyms to get stronger. A gym bunny is a guy that likes other guys that constantly goes to the gym."

That earned an even more confusing quizzical stare "So...they're just guys who like to hang out with other guys while working out?"

She watched Mindy work while she talked. She was wondering if she preferred her friend with or without the wig but there didn't feel like that much of a difference to the simple minded viking.

Mindy sighed. "You know how intimate Hiccup and Astrid are? Well, there are guys that like other guys like that, and girls the same way. You understand me now?"

She made a grunt as she came down a moment, the continued with her crunches.

Ruff had to think about it and when it finally clicked her face lit up.

"W-wait you mean...and...huh..." she looked around at the guys surrounding them working and snorted and snickered, "I never even thought about that." She admitted apparently equal parts amused and embarrassed by it.

"Eh, its no big deal, even though some people try to act like it is. I mean, if you have to have someone, it ought to be a person you're comfortable with or whatever. I don't get some of these dumb rituals and the parade is just kooky, but different strokes, different folks."

She trailed off. "Let me guess: no relationships like that in your world, huh?"

Ruff nodded, "I mean...not in Birk. But it's a big world right? Maybe over the ocean...that ocean that's all blown up now." She smirked.

The subject of love was...confusing to say the least. Astrid and Hiccup were in love it seemed. Even if Astrid hadn't tried to knock her head off for the kiss.

And now Girls could be in love with girls and guys with guys? Waaay too big to consider all at once.

Mindy rolled her eyes. "Even HERE, Ruffnut. We have a few girls that are that way. Haven't you ever heard of Nanoha, that girl from the Magical department? We have a few girls onboard like that."

Not that Mindy knew ANYTHING much about love other that what seemed pretty clear to her. In any case, Mindy knew little to nothing about love, not after the confusing crap with Negi.

"What do you look all confused about?"

"Well but like..." she was having trouble finding the words, "I get it with you and Sasami and Negi, you just take turns right? But if it's like, two guys who has the baby?" Another fine example of how undereducated Ruffnut was.

"Huh, take tu-what the hell are you talking about?' Mindy said, so startled she dropped a weight on her foot. She let out a string of pretty elaborate cursing, even dropping in some Spanish.

"We don't share Negs-I mean, Negi. That's her boyfriend, I'm just his student. I mean, he needs someone all sweet and shit like him anyway. As long as we don't dissolve the marriage though, I'm responsible for both of them, that's all."

What a...strangely good question.

"They adopt, or just don't have any kids at all. It depends."

"Oh hey sorry." She held her hands up with a laugh, "I totally thought you were ya know...with him. Like..." She made a kissy face puckering up her lips.

Then came the baby making question.

"I guess that works it's just like..." She held out two fingers, one on each hand and began brushing them against one another, "Is it like...ya know? Is this what guys like?"

She stopped swearing, rubbing her toe, sighing. "No, I mean, I could have, maybe, but even I know that Negi and Sasami need each other ad all that shit. What they need from ME is being tough, being fucking brutal to them sometimes. But I care about them, that's enough."

She looked amused. "Uh, if that's a symbol for butt sex? Yeah, that's what they like. Apparently feels good too, I guess. Whatever, It's not like I know anything about sex or whatever. Doesn't make kids though. Neither can two girls."

"Butt what?!?" That startled Ruff enough she dropped the vulgar gesture, "It goes back there? That's...eww!" Even Ruff seemed to be thrown by this one. "OK new topic new topic!" She flailed her arms about as if warding away the bad thoughts.

Mindy giggled. "Ah ha ha ha! Man, that freaks you out? Yep, I'm pretty depraved. I've known about that for a few years! Anyway, yeah, sure. What did you wanna talk about? You and Astrid finally have that talk?"

Ruff's face was burning red now, "S-shut up! Stuff isn't supposed to go up there you know just...out." She made another disgusted face, "Anyway yeah. We talked, she didn't hit me. But she made it clear Hiccup's with her." She sighed and rubbed the back of her head, "I dunno, so long as they're happy. Guess I'll just have to keep chasing after them so they don't forget me or whatever."

"Oh come on, Ruff!" She laughed. "You know what? You know where you piss? THAT apparently feel good too, in a way. It's so weird: human beings have all these body parts and the places that feel good are things that seems sorta gross to kids."

She shrugged. "Don't be fucking stupid. No one would forget someone like you. Idiot."

"Yeah but pee is different." A weak protest followed by "and I thought we were done about that."

"Yeah yeah You've said that too. I get it. We're not gonna know till we see right?" She smirked. "I ain't taking any chances."

"That's retarded," Mindy said, laughing so hard she had to stop lifting her wights. "Man, Ruff. Well, all right, I never knew you were so sensitive."

A little teasing, just because.

Mindy rolled her eyes. "The stop saying saying pussy shit like that, all right? It pisses me off. You won't be forgotten as log as I'm around. Dumb ass."

"I AM NOT!" Ruff protested loudly fists crackling with lightning defensively.

"You get pissed off easy." She added.

"Oh, you are too. And what do you care? You're a viking, you'll meet a guy on this stupid ship that will like you. Trust me, it'll happen. So don't worry about learning this crazy shit."

"Look who's talking!"

Ruff stuck her tongue out in defiance of the wuss remark and gave Mindy a light jolt from her lightning. "I'm not worried about THAT. Just because I got confused about Hiccup it's not a big deal."

She started from the lightning, and threw a wet rag in her direction. "You seemed pretty worried about it before. And also, that shit the stupid demon said, it was kind of messed up. So you can't get swayed by that shit again. I mean, I get it, hormones, teenager, but come on. You can get someone that at least likes you like that."

Ruff made a face as the rag splattered against her face and she tossed it aside, on fire.

"I'm not fallin' for the same stupid trick twice. Next time someone tries that crap they're getting their teeth punched in so hard it'll come out their butts!"
