Surgery! Take one [Closed]

Cassie was trying to be calm, she really was, but the whole idea of surgery was just... She'd been through it before and came out just fine. She knew that. But that was years ago and she was just a kid. She hadn't really been able to think about what could go wrong.

Not that anything was going to go wrong. She was on Stacy. The technology here was incredible. And the doctor was very experienced- and apparently going to do the "surgery" in a very unconventional way.

At least she was going to have ten fingers again.

Faiza walked into the room, smiling at the young woman who was waiting. "Hello, Cassie," she said, stepping to the edge of the bed and looking down at her. "How are you feeling today?"

"Completely understandable," Faiza agreed. "I always like to check in with the patient before surgery, though. See how you're feeling and if there are any last minute questions I can answer."

Faiza nodded. "Again, understandable. You've been through surgery before, yes?" She thought she'd read that in the file.

"Well. It shouldn't be anything so dangerous this time. Though, of course, there's always a possibility of trouble." She was going to put Cassie under anesthetic, after all. That always carried a certain amount of possible danger. "Still. I don't foresee any troubles. I wish I could do more than just restore your fingers, but it's more than I'd be able to do back home, too."

"You're welcome." Faiza smiled at her, reaching out to pat whatever part of her arm would cause the least amount of pain. "All right. If there's nothing else you can think of right now?"

Faiza nodded. "Allah ka fazal ho," she said. Not quite a blessing, but Urdu for 'good luck'. It had become habit for her before surgery. "I'll see you in a few hours."
