The Unexpected [Open]
Rachel was angry. Really angry.
She'd been on her way to her mission, when suddenly she was on this other ship. Pulled from one war, and into another-- it pissed her off to be just thrown around like that, used like a puppet once again. Was it Crayak, pulling her away before she could complete a vital goal? She'd barely managed to get her 'clothes' (not that it really counted as clothes-- but at least she could work with it), before she was snatched up again. And asked to run mazes, on the promise of cake.
Needless to say, it hadn't helped her mood.
Now that she was finally out (she may or may not have broken a few things on the way), she found herself in the hallways of this weird, pulsing ship. Nothing in it really looked Yeerk to her, either, which confirmed it.
Rachel stomped around the hallways, ready to morph on a second's notice. She was angry, and she wanted answers.

Bwahaha try being angry at this!
Something about exploring the ship or seeing all the different people on board was fascinating and fun to him, and well...there were so many cute girls.
And there was another one! time to work his charm! An adorable green puppy trotted up to Rachel barking cheerfully!

Her anger was still there, but she pushed it down just enough to respond to the strange dog. "Hey there," she said to it, leaning over to pat its head, though with a hint of hesitation. "What are you doing here?"
((ooc: This tag ain't great. XD; Sorry.))

Well that wasn't something you saw every day.
((OOC: No worries~))

"I want answers," she snapped, folding her arms in front of her.

< Rachel! >
He did a quick turn as he passed over her head, looking for a place to perch since he knew she'd stop when she saw him.

< I'm really glad to see you. I've missed you, a lot. There's a *lot* to say...and don't worry, I'm private. we're all here, you're the last to arrive. My parents are here too, and Marco's mom...at least, we're hoping it's her, they're running tests. That guy is the one big hangup > He looked down toward Tom. < I really don't know which one he is right now. They've got this time-share thing going on. I still am having a hard time believing it, but it's true. >
Tobias normally wasn't talkative like this, but there was so much to pass along...some could wait for an easier moment, but other stuff, like Tom, was important.

After a second, her voice softened. "I've missed you, too," she replied, despite the weirdness of the situation. She figured he'd appreciate it... and she had been worried. "But what's going on?"

She took a breath. At least everyone else was here. "So, what?" she asked crossly. "We were just pulled away, just like that?"

Iniss was very well aware that, quite simply, he needed more time. And he doubted very much the murdering little humans would allow him so much as a second more of freedom than he had already been allotted.
He was screwed. He was beyond screwed, even with Dani and Sam and Nightwing to aid him, he was in over his head and had no backup. And to add to his already expansive list of problems, Visser 1. Just what he needed.
He needed time, he needed to act, he needed to be free of this pesky host and the pesky rules he didn't need Dani to enforce if she thought he was disobeying her. This time-share bullshit was simply put, that. He could have done a thousand more important things while his host played with words. A thousand things that might have saved him.
But for the moment, Tom had control.
There could not be more difference between the human teenager currently curled around a data pad and the yeerk quietly fuming in his head. Not in this universe or any other.
And despite Iniss' apparent wish to give him a headache, Tom was reading quietly. It was an activity he had rarely indulged in before becoming a controller, but the quiet stability of a good book, a book that wouldn't change no matter how many feeding cycles it took you to finish it, had grown on him.
He wasn't really paying attention to the people moving around him, and so far, no one had paused to shake him from his porthole niche. Which was for the best, really, it was still hard to change from reading to conversing. Or conversing in general. Hard, when for the last three years, someone else had done it for you.
It was only by chance that he caught a flash of blond out of the corner of his eye, and looked up, thinking of his cousins and Loren, all of which he'd like to see.
"...Rachel?"

She spun rapidly and wildly, teeth bared in a gesture that wasn't nearly as menacing while she was still human. But now the trigger to morph was only a split second away. At least her mission wasn't, after all, cancelled. Looks like maybe she wasn't as unlucky as she thought she was. Something struck her as odd, but she brushed it off, because this was her chance.
"You," she growled, just starting to form the mental image of a grizzly in her head.
((ooc: Not starting the morphing yet, since we don't have approval yet. :P So this is your chance to try and stop her, I guess.))

Iniss just watched, thoughts returning to the situation at hand now that a threat had been established, but he didn't take control. At least for the moment. < You may wish to move, I believe you cousin intends to hit you. Or eat you. I suppose it wouldn't be the first time humans started resorting to cannibalism in tense situations. >
"Not helping." The words were soft, nervousness clear on his face as his cousin stalked towards him.

"You think you're funny, Yeerk?" Rachel snapped, in response to his suggestions of bringing her to 'med staff'. Yeah, right. She'd never be taken alive, wouldn't get infested. It had to be a joke, if he were trying to suggest it. "Hah."
But Tom still wasn't moving and, as far as she could tell, he wasn't morphing either. Carefully, she began to morph to her bear, trying to keep it as unobtrusive as possible. If she could still use the element of surprise, she wanted a head-start.

< Best kept secret in the entire galaxy. Known by a group of teenagers. How the mighty have fallen. I don’t think she believes you. >
“You’re REALLY not helping.”
< I didn’t sign up for the family reunion portion of this space voyage. >
“Then shut up.”
< Deal with your angry relative, then. >
“Uh…have you talked to Jake..? Rachel?” He scrambled backwards, eyes a little wide and frightened.

She totally ignored all of his mumbling to himself, as insane as it sounded. She never trusted the Yeerks to sound sane, not now, not ever. But it seemed like he was catching on-- scared, and suspecting Jake.
"Yeah, I did. Jake told me to k--" she was cut off there, as her mouth lost its human shape, and the brown hair began to spread across her now near massive body.
No more subtlety.

Her first instinct, upon seeing Rachel, is to go up and explain the whole thing to a new familiar face. But the second, much stronger instinct, is of self-preservation. She doesn't know if Rachel's talked to Marco yet, but given the expression on Rachel's face, Eva figures this probably isn't the best time to test whether or not Rachel thinks Eva's still a Visser.
Biting her lip, Eva moves to duck out of sight.
no subject
"Eva?" she tried, unsure if that's who she had really seen.
((ooc: Sorry this tag is short and crappy. x_x ))
no subject
"Not that you have any proof of this until you talk to Marco, but I'm uninfested. Thank God," she says dryly, and then smiles. "It's good to see you alive and well."
She's trying not to place any more emphasis on the word 'alive' than any other person would. No need for Rachel to know that the last thing Eva remembered about Rachel was an urn full of ashes.
(( Typo edit. ))
no subject
"Yeah, you too," she replied with a nod, but she was already a bit more guarded. Eva was acting suspicious, and while Rachel wasn't usually the paranoid one... something was off here. Eva seemed like she was hiding something. Rachel was a bit more tense, now, but she tried not to show it. She'd just be ready if, for some reason, she needed to be. But Eva had always been the easiest of the adults to deal with...
"What's going on here?" she asked, watching the reaction. "Where are we?"
no subject
"I'm probably not the best person ask, really. Up until you showed up, I was the new kid in town." She shrugs. "Anyway, you're on a giant meat spaceship so you can save the rest of the universes, and it turns out people can come from any point in the timeline, so there was a big hubbub in the beginning trying to figure out if I still had my own favorite little mental stowaway. Don't worry, though, I'm clean. I come from after we win the war, and I take it you're pretty close to the end of it."
no subject
"So this is like a bad episode of Star Trek or something?" she asked, annoyed and only half joking. But she was immediately more wary. It was an unlikely situation -- though nothing was impossible after all they'd been through, was it? -- but if it was true... then she did know she couldn't trust Eva, not really. But why would she tell her all of this?
"Close enough," she replied, more evasive now. Not that she really knew, anyway-- she could hope that that battle would end the war, and that her killing... that it would be a decisive victory. "Where's everyone else then?"
